Great tutorial…. Question is that just the standard eco tank printer converted with sublimation ink? Does it do ok? Also I noticed that said 400 degrees for easy press but in video it showed a temp of 205 on yours when pressing

Hello, I suggest not using a Teflon sheet because once the ink gets on it then you have to throw it away. So instead of using one of those you can always just run to the store and get some parchment paper because it’s a lot cheaper and easier.
I know most people use Teflon so that’s what I ordered and it’s been good but I’ll try parchment paper! Thank you!

hey whats the setting you use paper style i put matte and sometimes it does not come out right because i did a lv design it was red and black and the design wasn't good it looked like the ink ran out but it did not because i filled it before using my printer its my 3rd time doing phone cases a purple one turned out really good but i forgot what setting paper it was please let me know because i have few orders on Tuesday to do and i dont want to waste ink for no reason and btw does red come out good or it comes out light
Try to press it anyways! I use matte paper setting as well, and when it prints it looks dull and the colors look off but the heat like “activates” the ink so when I press it, it turns out super vibrant.

Yes I’ve done multiple! I just make sure no heads are at the very top of the photo. I can do a video on my photo cases as well

I just ordered a case to try to make one for my sister, but I can't do it yet anyway because besides waiting for the case to come in I am also waiting on my ink and paper. I just bought an Epson 2720 this past Monday and didn't order the ink and paper right away because I was trying to figure out which I wanted to try.

The ink lasts along time. I’ve had it for a few months and it’s not low and I print a lot. The eco tanks are nice they last so much longer.

I’ve purchased a few from Etsy! Just type in “phone case sublimation designs” and I’ve made a few myself in procreate. However, while practicing and making some personal cases for myself I downloaded a few images from google to get the hang of the process. :)

Are you pulling the plastic film off and using the correct heat setting and pressure? You need about 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Sublimation ink allows the ink to turn into a gas state and transfer onto materials. Regular ink will not work at all with the process. Sublimation ink and paper is required.

It is a regular eco tank printer, it’s just the sublimation ink that you add is different.

You don’t need a Cricut I just use it for making designs. You can just print it from your phone tho

I uploaded the design as print to cut on Cricut and after uploading it and adjusting the size it gave me the option to print 🥰

You need an eco tank printer and sublimation ink! It takes special ink and paper for this process. But the printer is fine as long as it’s any eco tank. The epson 2720 is super affordable (compared to most)

You can get them off the internet for personal use
I’ve seen many phone cases with movie images and they clearly didn’t ask the studio for it so…
Your video is very helpful. We followed every detail and somehow we cannot get it to work. The sublimation ink does not transfer. Any suggestions? Is there a setting or something that may seem obvious that we have not realized?
Are you using sublimation paper as well? With sublimation ink and paper, adding heat it should work perfectly. I would double check the ink/paper you’re using.

Hey so you said a heatpress that gets to 400 degrees but yours was set on 200 is that what i need ?
Mine is set on Celsius! It was 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Should have specified that! But yes I’d recommend a heat press (doesnt have to be the one I have) instead of an iron.

It does. You just put sublimation ink in instead of the ink that comes with the printer.

Yes! I use the app procreate to draw designs. I use it on my iPad Air with an Apple Pencil. 🥰

If it’s printing yellow, double check you are using sublimation ink

Hello! I’m trying to make phone cases as well but cricut design space won’t let me print my images. Do you know how to fix this so I can print them? Thank you!
Do you have the sizing right? Cricut only allows a certain size to be printed. I believe it’s 6.25 x 9.25 is the max sizing so make sure you’re not trying to print bigger than that. And that the image was saved as print to cut.

It has to get to 400 degrees to work properly! So if your iron gets that hot then yes you can!

It’s okay for starting out but I’ve had some issues now with it and if you can afford a bigger heat press (not Cricut brand) I’d get one!

Mine prints super slow! But it’s the best quality so it’s worth it. I do matte paper settings. It looks dull when it prints but the heat “activates” the colors lol so it’s nice and vibrant once pressed!

They are! I’ve been using one myself for months and have had no issues.

Sounds like it! What setting do you print on? I print on matte paper setting and it prints nice and slow so the quality comes out great.
