Alex In Wonderland or father son. There's an au or headcannon, that Virgil is Patton’s actual son (as much as a side can be) because anxiety is an offshoot of emotions. I've read a few oneshots about it and it's cute

Moxiety is really interesting to me. Long comments, woooooo!
It seems like these two have some behind the scence interactions going on, because these two seem to understand eachother the most out of all the sides.
Although this is a cute and shippy video, there's still alot of serious points here.
I feel like Patton understands to an extent, and that he's rooting for Virgil behind all the jokes and airheadedness. Virgil isn't the most happy character, and I feel like Patton wants to support him in any way he can. Patton seems to be sorta held back by the other personalities though, in terms that Anxiety isn't the only person there, so he can't really have a one-on-one talk with Virgil. Plus, he still has a job to do and a role to take in these videos, he can't neglect that. He tries to reach to him through his persona to stay in character and not make Virgil uncomfortable. After all, the more natural it seems, the less defensive Anxiety gets, which is why Patton is so fucking
s u b t l e at times. Despite Morality outright gushing over le poor bab at times, he actually never really scared off Virgil or made him distrust him, as Virgil points out. Morality is a loving person naturally, so the advantage he has over the other characters is that he could say those sorts of things to Virgil with the least amount of backlash, because Morality, duh. That's just how he is all the time, he's so personal that it doesn't feel personal anymore.
Patton is sorta sidestepping around to not scare Virgil away like Thomas does sometimes.
As much as I love the guy as my favorite character, he also scares me too, since he's also the one that's the least understood in a way, even more than Deceit. I mean, think about it, we have an overall feel of everyone's shtick. Anxiety is the devil's advocate of the group, misunderstood and withdrawn from the cast, Logic is....well, logical and unbiased, Roman is the self centered fabulous trope, and Deceit's a bitch; for now. Now, they might reveal some stuff about themselves that might suprise you and they seem to differentiate from the trope because of that, but when you think about it, it actually isn't too far fetched.
Patton is a whole different story. Sure, you could just say he's a pure sunshine child and be done with it. Unlike the other two sides - which is excluding Anxiety -, he's more obligated to sugarcoat things and such, and unlike Anxiety (or Deciet), he isn't as...obvious about it. You'd never know when Patton is telling a lie, or hiding something. For Virgil, its more expected of him to conceal his true feelings, so you catch it more often. Cheery ol Patton though? Hiding secrets? Nah, seems too wild. But Patton could screw over the whole cast if he wanted to, and it actually wouldn't be all too out of character, because he's Morality, god damn it.
Deciet would be able to take a hold of Morality more easily than the others, and with Anxiety being the most repulsed by lying and feeling the most obligation towards Patton out of their subtle bond, might have to dig him out of the rabbit hole, which would be intresting to watch. There's a reason why Patton being called out for lying sends shivers down our spines.
I kinda expect that Deceit turns out to be this tea drinking guy that just sits back and relaxes and isn't really that bad at all though. Probably just me.

they truly are the best. but it brings up a point of (which would be fun to see) is deceit trying to overtake Patton again. because Patton is the most influential sides of all, it makes sense he chose him to string up as his own personal puppet. and yeah he got caught the first time, but there's bound to be a point where he shows up again, and that small approach is unsettling. And when deceit showed up sure they solved the problem and ruled out deceits reasoning was wrong in the episode, but will there be another point where they'll realize its wrong, but its already too late? just some food for thought. probably wont happen but ya know thought i might say it nonetheless
CheesyNCrackers Very true. Deceit seems like the guy to learn from his mistakes. He gets smarter every time he impersonates one of the other sides. Won't take long for him to master one side if he's smart enough.
A very unorginal (Probably many fanfictions have done some rendition of this by now) but effective strategy would be to stay undercover until when Virgil truly feels like family to the others. Virgil would probably be the first to call bullshit in any situation, so it would be best to blackmail him by taking one of the sides hostage in some form, as Virgil would feel more obligated to take the bait at that point. Aaaand as discussed, the best contender would be Patton.
Taking Logic would be pretty bad. Logan would be the most likely to find a way out of the situation, plus, we already know that Logic can't be rid of so easily. It would seem like Roman and Patton are both equally qualified to be Virgil bait, but Patton is actually more reliable.
Roman and Virgil have a love-hate dynamic that's well known now, which can be easily exploited because we both know that they don't actually hate eachother that much. However, Anxiety could still go full heel on Roman and not go for the bait, because Roman is less vunerable than Patton in these situations. Roman and Patton could both try to put on a brave face, but Patton's bluff would just come off as plain sad, as it would be evident that he's just trying to stay strong for Anxiety. Roman could coax Virgil out of it because he's proven to be able to more independent, self loving, and fiesty. Roman is a fighter, so Virgil wouldn't feel as bad about leaving it up to the creative guy to be able to handle himself while he gets help from the other sides to go and rescue him.
Roman would fight for himself and for the others, Patton would just try to bear it for everyone else's sake. See the difference?
On the other hand, Virgil could actually go full heel and not save Roman out of the loathing he feels for Roman. I mean, Roman has been insulting Virgil ever since he got there, and Anxiety is just concealing the hurt he feels with apathy. Roman does actually hurt Virgil's feelings often, and Virgil retorts back in self defense because of so. We don't know how badly Virgil is affected, so lil Anxiety could go against his heart and turn his back on the creative boi if he's hurt enough.
Patton is the complete opposite. If Virgil leaves Patton at Deceit's mercy, he'd be calling himself as a douchebag pronto and regretting his decisions every waking moment of his life. Patton wouldn't be able to take on the Prince character like Roman and try to hold out, but would instead seem like a complete damsel in distress. He can't really do a charisma save here, so he's virtually fucked, lmao. Plus, Virgil actually has more obligation towards Morality than Creativity, because Morality has always been there for him. Roman is a bit of a dick when compared to Patton's kindness. There's literally no reason to not save him.
But then again, I'm talking about Deceit like he's some ultimate mastermind with cruel intentions, so this is sorta riding on the fact that Deceit is a bitch, lmao.

yeah lol and deceit is the guy who admited to wearing dishwashing gloves so i wouldnt think hed be a complete mastermind but i reckon hed still have a plan. i made an animatic kind of based on the deceit overtaking virgil, where virgil for pattons sake turns himself in to deceit. Kind of a worst case scenario for deceits future ideas.
I feel like Paton loves Virgil more like a son than in another way which is why I don't ship them. But even though I don't ship them, I love thire cute relationship. It's cute. Also, I feel like Virgil is over protective and wants to help Paton, but not in a... lovey way.

Logicality isn’t that cute to me. Part of it is because Logan is averse to emotions and he especially wouldn’t embrace being lovey dovey. He would be like “ew! Relationship! Ew!” I have a soft spot for Prinxiety, but Moxiety is the cutest of all!

I honestly love the dynamics that Virgil has with the other characters; Prinxiety is the whole 'there's a fine line between love and hate', Moxiety is the adorable, fluffy, supportive and emotionally stable relationship that both cuties deserve, whereas Analogical plays well on the 'mutual dislike for icky feelings' and honestly I love how well all of them click with Virgil
