I was hugely impressed by this back then. It's an absolutely gorgeous looking game if you ask me and it sounds divine too. One of my faves even though of course I'm predictably poor at the game on account of it being a tad challenging for the average player. A process of learning of course and this video makes me want to do just that. Thanks for the great playthrough
Nice run of one of the best shooters on Amiga, and still my fave Chris Huelsbeck soundtrack. Z-Out has ((that track)) and looks more slick, but X-Out is much more original and interesting and feels more action packed.
Chris Hülsbeck did a really good job on both games. I do prefer X-Out over Z-Out too, because of it's better ship upgrade system and better balanced difficulty.
This game was awesome as I recall so action packed but it was really hard and very unforgiving. Don't recall ever getting past level 2! But I see you're a pro unlike my 16yo noob self at the time this game came out.
@@backtotheroots6986 JetsN'Guns is really good game with amazing soundtrack mixing metal and chiptunes. It's like a tribute to oldschool horizontal schooters. I got it on Steam for cheap and it works on a potato. Some time ago the sequel was released but I never played it. It seems that the graphics were updated and the requiremments are higher but still low.
Nice R-Type(ish) shoot-em-up for the Amiga. It's too bad they didn't throw some parallax in there to give it more visual punch, though I guess they didn't want to give up the colors that would be sacrificed for dual playfield mode. It's too bad that CD-ROM drives came out so late in the Amiga's life cycle and that storage (discs and RAM) were still quite expensive back then. I can only imagine how things would have been different.
@@backtotheroots6986 It could have done much better but they priced it way too high (they didn't want to undercut the Amiga 1200 probably). It's too bad that the bean counters were in charge instead of the engineering team. If so, they would have evolved way past AGA and 8 bit sound. The Hombre chipset (AAA) was in the pipeline but it was too late by then. :(

That music though 😍
My favorite SHMUP on C64 and Amiga.
I played this one to death in Amstrad and it was already a gorgeous conversion. It is an awesome title in several platforms ❤
Et dire que j’avais oublié ce magnifique jeu

I haven't played that game in AGES and I did not remember that the graphics were so stylish!
All it lacks is a parallax scrolling!
It's interesting that the C64 has parallax scrolling.
@@backtotheroots6986 Really? Interesting, indeed!
1:12 loader bgm is godness.
I remember getting this on a magazine coverdisk, played the demo to death. Really great classic game.
I do not know any other shoot 'em up from this time, where you have so many options to customize the weapons of your ships.
Maybe Gradius 3 on SNES had a lot of weapon customization, does that count?
Yes that counts. I completely forgot about Gradius.
@@backtotheroots6986 disposable hero as well
Nice shooter for Amiga but looking videos online I discover that the music of stage 5 and 7 are the same of the stage 3 of the first Turrican.
Feeling sad. The Amiga was such a superior machine at its time. Why it vanished?
Great music. Thanks.
you're welcome
I like the weapon customization in this game that somehow reminds me the newer PC shooter called JetsN'Guns. This feature is rare in old shooters.
I dont't know the game but it looks interesting.

I will definitly try this one out. Thanks for the tip.
I remember completing this for the first time and thinking is that it? A picture?!? 😄
Haha, this is very disappointing yes. But at least you got a picture. Many games provide nothing else than a simple text. :)

Commodore introduced the CD³² in 1993, that had a cd-rom drive, but it could not hold its own in the market.
