Alisha, you are one of the best teachers, the only problem to not be among the top is that you laugh at anything, and it happens that you have adult students too, sometimes you make us feel like fools, try to be more professional in that regard, you can see in your competition that they are in the top 10 and no one laughs at anything. I'm Brazilian and I've been learning English since elementary school just like a lot of other Brazilians but like others students it's just a basic English like some verbs and phrases no one else uses in real life. This is the English learning in the school here, since elementary until high school or even college (obviously except when you do English Teaching at college).
But I always have watched a lot of movies and series in English with subtitles and mostly games aren't translated into Portuguese until around 2010's so I had in touch with the language in any case but not enough to learn how to communicate.
So I decided to go deeper and installed an app called Duolingo which is used to learn a lot of languages (including Portuguese if you want to) especially because my family haven't condition to pay an English school for me.
So now I'm 22 and finishing my college I'll do IELTS test and try to get a job and move to England. My country isn't in a good condition for jobs and life quality here is low compared to North America or west European countries. Now with the pandemic it got even worse and I am ready to leave my beloved country to explore new lands and opportunities at the UK, the land of the Queen.
