As someone thinking about getting involved with Lorcana, it's pretty dumb that Disney is going after these free to play clients that actually allow people to show the game and the cards/decks, because honestly it's been kind of a headache trying to find a good way to watch people play without having a game shop in your area that has Lorcana events.
Have to disagree. Although it would seem like nothing. They made the game and have all rights to it. Not some but all. Put it this way. If you wanna use my stuff, ask me. Would you be OK if someone just walked in your house and took your stuff because they felt they was entitled to it? And then just told others "Here you can have it for free. When they get more stuff I'll just go get that also and give it to you all." Nah you wouldn't 😂
@@De19-90 Not really the same thing. If someone made a virtual model of my house and put it on the Sims I'd be fine with that. This is just an online client and yes it is stealing the ideas, cards, gameplay, etc but it was also free. What Disney should do is buy the client and put ads for their cards in it. They could also just Hearthstone/MTGO it and actually sell packs for credits/real money. Not having an online component for your card game is kinda crazy in 2024. This means making RUclips videos and Tiktoks a massive pain in the ass outside of "opening packs". Watching someone play online means watching people position their webcams over their hands and struggling to see their cards. Do they own all the rights to Lorcana? Yes. Is it smart to deny your community a way to play the game you made? I don't think so.
I’m part of the Lorcanito team. It’s likely that Disney will also do the same, but there are ways to reduce this likelihood. I have a couple of reasons why I believe Pixelborn got shutdown.
@@ganzgenau706 it's not 100%sure, but for similar reason as people mentioned here already. Pixelborn was aiming for a Heartstone like approach, in which the game was really close to professional grade softwares.,So much so that it looks like an official application. Another thing, which is a consequence of the first one, the game was so neat the people were playing because the game is neat, you can think of heartstone again, probably it wouldn't be as popular if it was a paper card game. This attracted a lot of people that wouldn't be playing IRL, and again Disney can't let that happen. Pixelborn became the de-facto oficial platform, with lots of tournaments, streamers, content creator, that most of the digital chat about Disney lorcana was not about Disney lorcana but about pixelborn, and again, disney can't let that happen. I kind of feel that this was the natural course, I've been in MTGs for long time and the online sims that lasted long they were not "professional looking" with PC apps, mobile apps, web apps, etc. All in all Pixelborn was a great game, and Lorcanito won't ever be as professional as Pixelborn once was.

My only complaint is readying before the correct phase, you are supposed to do that at the beginning of your turn, not opponents
