Interesting. I never thought much about this. Edit: two points, if im an end user, i far prefer reviews than testimony and usually ignore testimonials as dubious. Secondly, too many businesses are faking reviews or bribing for them, such as you get 10% off your next visit or order if you leave a review. None of this is good for consumers. Few business owners seem to resist this and just treat it all as marketing or similar. Im a business person who is ethical but can say in the business world, ethics are very thin.
