The Protectors was one of the best, most deranged repeated bits that the three of them did. This and the photo montage sequences... Joel, Max and Conan were funnier than anything else around at that time, and two of them weren't even comedians
Hey man, I love the protectors. Do you know how many times did they do it? There's only 2 that I can find, at least on RUclips. Hoping there's more online.
@@williandalsoto806 I've looked and I can only find two, like you. There's a handful of remotes I haven't seen before over at the Conan 25 Team Coco website(which was meant to be NBC releasing _everything_ from the vaults, so I don't know why we only get about 150 videos in total from seventeen years of Conan.) but no Protectors. If you find any more let me know. Also, if you see any previously unreleased photo montages with Joel and Max let me know. I can only find about eighteen or so of them and they're my favourite thing outside of the remotes.
@@williandalsoto806 Try the website. There's a lot of remotes, but most of the ones I hadn't seen are Andy-specific...and I love the guy but he's no Conan. I think there were literally only four or five with Conan that I hadn't seen. But yeah, I'll keep you posted.
I can’t wait for the archive to come out... these are the best days of Conan, sorry but my opinion, Andy is funny and great but I like Max and Joel better
The archive is...disappointing imo. Am I the only one who was expecting a LOT more than what there is there on the Team Coco website? It's only about 150 videos or something - which sounds a lot...but it's from seventeen years at NBC, and we were told they were going to release "everything". I get that they have to curate the stuff, otherwise they'd just have to dump thousands of hours online, but it still feels paltry. 90% of everything in that archive has already been online for years.
I think I've downvoted maybe six or seven videos max in my entire time watching YT, and each and every time that was because of clickbaiting dishonesty or discovering the video was uploaded by neo-Nazis(more common than you'd think btw). I don't understand how, when I go and watch a video of an orphan rescuing a puppy, there will reliably be about 5% of the viewers who went 'puppies and orphans? Fuck them, DOWNVOTE'. Who are these people?
I didn't know that he's famous (I don't know him). So, they meant it to look staged? Ok. But I think it's much more fun when there are real people (just my opinion).
that "hey max!" threw me off guard
I love the sanctimony and outrage in Max's voice when he says "how dare you"
"I'm tired of doing comedy...by the way, this is comedy we've been doing."
Joel and max got the best protector roles haha
Max was the original Leonardo DiCaprio.
I love Conan but that was stupid.
Does anyone remember when the "Max Weinberg is a pervert" running gag started? Always one of the funniest parts of the show.
"Hey Max."

@@thesprawl2361 I haven't checked the website yet. I think I've seen all of the photo montages too. Alright, let's keep each other posted.

Was this during the time Andy Richter had left the show to do his own thing?
The one person who know that Carson daily had a show
The restaurant manager is the panelist from The Onion's "In the know". Other Onion cast members also showed up in other Protectors sketches.
Hey Max
I can’t wait for the archive to come out... these are the best days of Conan, sorry but my opinion, Andy is funny and great but I like Max and Joel better
Andy was actually on the show before them. He was in the first epsiode ever.
I think the best days are from day 1 to yesterday. Needless to say, I can't wait for them either.
Spaced ed man? Wtf were u goin for? Lmao
Soo true, golden days of conan lol
The archive is...disappointing imo. Am I the only one who was expecting a LOT more than what there is there on the Team Coco website?

I like the way Max stands at attention.
I've been trying to find this clip forever! Thank you
I recognize that restaurant manager... I know I’ve seen him in a million things but don’t know his name lol
Is he the toyota sienna dad?
He's the boss in the Neighbours movie series.
Who the hell found this clip and downvoted it? Classic Max and Joel on the street, it’s golden

5:16 'I'm a family man'.
HOLY SHIT! Heartland Brewery! I've been to that location in NYC with the fam on a few occasions :)
Did you get ripped off?
The manager is on Bob's burgers lol and it's the dude from the tv store from the first protectors episode?
What..?
Adult store guy is the tv salesman from the other Protectors bit
Don't you Think Max looks like Harold Ramos from Ghostbusters.
He does...only a little bit, but it's noticeable.
It’s Ramis, but yes, he does a little. It’s the round-wired glasses and the fact that both of them are Jewish.
The Protectors are genius, all of them, Joel Goddard's nutjob reporter especially. I love this.
19$ Bill, 2$ Tip - Conan: it's almost 6%
I think it was more for comedic effect than anything. It's over 10%
2:12 whisper "N-I-N-E-T-E-E-N"
Hahahahahhaa mayne I gotta binge watch these, it's been a while since I laughed this much on old comedy
Why its always 19 dollar???
better than all the rest.
🤣 🤣 😂 😂 I love him 😍
Can’t thank you more, chapper!
Huskey!!
And he isn’t screaming like all his improv characters eventually do
Rikulus!
~Twenty dollars for lunch, in 2003. In 2019, that's ~$27.00. Holy dick-lint...
You think nyc is cheap?
How does Conan not get arrested?
Conan in TBC is better than in NBC!
Max was creepy
That's the point
so staged :(
Alexandra Kurchikova obviously, it’s a sketch
I though they were pretending that it's real... ok then
I didn't know that he's famous (I don't know him). So, they meant it to look staged? Ok. But I think it's much more fun when there are real people (just my opinion).
Conan has lots of not staged remotes with real people. Haven't you seen them? They are so cool and there are hundreds of them.
Alexandra Kurchikova Ummm apparently you’ve never heard of comedy? This is a fucking comedy sketch on a late night talk show.
This show was freaking genius. Too good for us...
One of my favorite bits of his tbh lol.
The REAL Joke Here Is Americans "Thinking" Tipping Is Normal or "Customary". LOL!
