I'm using 2019 16 inch MBP with i9, 32GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, Radeon Pro 5500M 4GB for music production and sometimes video editing, still love this machine

Yep! Snap! I have the same! Slight difference is mine is the 64gb ram! I too use it for music production and divinci film editing! I absolutely love this unit! I use a heat air pad and when I’m Full on music/film production I also use ice pads and have NEVER had heat issues using this system!

    I bought my '19 16" MBP brand new ( 2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB
    Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB, 64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 ).
It's my primary system, and it really is a great laptop. The heat issues are something I've had to deal with, and I take it apart and clean it often because of the dust build up that doesn't help with keeping it cool. I'm just now starting to feel the need to upgrade to the latest Apple Silicon, but that's because my line of work is leaning on tech that having that support will make things a heck of a lot easier on me.
For running this thing and dragging it through the mud for the past 5 years, I'd say it's done a fantastic job.

I have that machine, since 2020, there are plenty of cons, the main issue is the bug on the memory leading to huge GPU load (at least for the AMD 5300 and 5500) when connecting to an external monitor (even with the lid colsed, it is hard to get the GPU below 6 W, and if you just open a web page with a git action pipeline it will rise up to 12/20 W). There are many workarounds, none of them woking well, the only solution is to buy a DisplayLink docking station, which will cost at least 200$ , and will move the load on the CPU side. So, in 2024 buying that machine, instead of a refurbished M1 or M2, is completely insane!

I recently sold my 2015” MacBook Pro. And last year I gave my 2011 MacBook Pro to my sister. Both worked well, and I had installed new ssd’s in them.
I am not a heavy user, and I think I’ll like this screen size. My previous MacBooks were 13”, except for my 2008 MacBook Pro whis has 17”…😂

@@oceaneclemenceau8103 Hey, I use my 2019 i9 MacBook until today. It is a very good MacBook. I use it for Internetbrowsing, MS Office, Photoshop and I am good with the Performance. It you can get one with 64gb RAM and 1-2 TB SSD, its a Nobrainer. I don‘t Need Apple AI and MacOS Sequoia will be supported on this devices (without AI). I will Not Upgrade to Apple Silicon, until my MacBook Pro is Running actual MacOS (Even with OpenCore Legacy Patcher).

The year just kicked off and I had so many questions cause the M1 and the 2019 seem to be around the same price. However I do read that the m1 doesnt overheat as much as the 2019. I have an HP from 2018 i think and its completely dying on me , can barely work on it without it beinf plugged which honestly I really wished Id be able to do. Would you go for m1 or 2019?
    And btw great vid!

      Thanks.
At the same/similar price, I would go for the M1 & use an external monitor if required... but it'll depend on pricing and specs. The 16" 2019 is still an amazing machine if you can get a good spec at the right price.

Using the i7 and 16 gb ram 2019 macbook pro and it is great no need to constantly edit videos and have 48 cores as in newer macbook pro as this is unnecessary for everyone and just overpriced for no legitimate and justifiable reason

I have heard SO many reviews of how the M Chips are better, sure I'm sure they are and that's great. I love using apple products and have 0 shame with not having the latest and greatest. Just got my first MacBook - Used for a few hundred on Amazon. It wont last me forever but I think it's great and exactly what I need. Great video - thanks for sharing!
