IMO, Psych is not given enough credit for the brilliants series that it was. One of the best and funniest detective shows ever but it always gets glossed over.
I was definitely expecting them to make the list for sure, at least Honorable Mention!! If there was any hint of implication of a romantic spark between them it didn't last very long because of Stabler being married (even when his marriage was on the rocks).
Matthew Anderson Holmes and Watson ONLY have romantic relationship tendencies in the wet dreams of fan girls, there's nothing to suggest that on the show. They might joke about it but no one actually believes (no one who's not part of the Rule 34 mindset), that either of them will end up as a gay couple.
Law & Order's Briscoe and Curtis were awesome. And when Curtis re-appeared during the end of the series, mentioning "Briscoe's death was the most heartbreaking episode ever. Miss you Jerry Orbach and your "Lenny-isms"

Glad you included 'Sherlock' so high. Being a fan of the more 'classic' Holmes tales I expected to hate the modern reboot especially after seeing the Downey film version and 'Elementary' versions. Luckily 'Sherlock' is so well written & well acted I couldn't help but love it. I love a show that doesn't dumb down to achieve mass appeal. It's not classic Sherlock in the Jeremy Brett style but it's a damn good show. Even if it does frazzle my brain! ;)
I couldn't agree more with the top two spots. Of course, great writing and acting can make any buddy show great, but the edge will always go, in my opinion, to the actors who start with an intense chemistry and build from that. My two favorite pairings of all time, one modern and one classic!
