- Monterey Bay Whale Watching was the number one thing on my bucket list for our California Road Trip! We went whale watching to view Humpback Whales in Monterey Bay but were so lucky to also see a Blue Whale!
After whale watching, the perfect end to the day was 17 mile drive through Pebble Beach.
*The Monterey Bay Aquarium was not open due to the pandemic

My old "stompin" grounds as a kid. My grandparents lived within the 17-mile drive and we always had a pass adhered to our front grill of our car, so we never had to pay! As you can see, its well worth the $10. My uncle was a fisherman and had a boat in the Monterey harbor. Thanks for taking me back!
My husband and I do that 17 Mile Drive route every weekend, just because we can! Never gets old.

I lived in Monterey for a while and they had the best restaurants on Fishermans wharf. Also on Wharf #2 they have good restaurants and out near the parking lot they have a great English pub with the best fish and chips.
I am a fellow whale geek. I do not have all the facts as Finn but I get just as geeked out by sightings and I could listen to Finn all day giving facts!
Definitely happy to see these beautiful animals in the wild. My all time fave is the Orca, they are magical to me. But I am face first into this video looking for your next sighting! Can’t wait to see the Blue! 💙

I've been on 2 whale watching excursions out of San Diego and we never saw a whale on either of them. I now feel like I've done it through you. Still have to free tickets to try it again! I've been on the 17 Mile drive like 4 times and it's spectacular. The Lone Cyprus is my favorite and the sea otters. We got our very own TRIPPED BACKPACK delivered today. Looks great. Came in 5 days without Amazon Prime and we got free delivery with some other stuff. Looks like a great addition to our next travel marathon. We heading from Colorado to Nashville, to Ashville, to Myrtle Beach for a week, to Charleston for Thanksgiving and then maybe a week in Florida somewhere. We are still planning that part, then back to Colorado for Christmas. Love the videos!

I am obsessed with sea life especially whales so totally enjoyed your excitement and video. I can't wait to see these whales when i will be in cabo in February. Thanks for getting footage of the blue whales and dolphins too because even with my 20 years if vacations I have not see dolphins in the wild. Great video you two!
I have lived in Santa Cruz for the last 40 yrs. I have seen humpbacks up close from the SC Municipal Wharf. Amazing big!

You caught how the whales are such gentile giants giants. On my first whale sighting excision the captains dogs would smell the whales exhaling so they would start barking like crazy so they were really whale hunters. And only had 4 of us on the sail boat such an awesome experience.

Finn, what Lumix camera are you using?
We have the GH5 that we've been using for a few years now and really love. The in camera stabilization is incredible. We now use it mostly for broll since its pretty bulky and just use our little sony zv1 for the bloggy bits.
