The variety of textures in the kislux pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
I would add a pocket knife. I know you carrie your knife but just in case as a backup. Maybe some sunblock. Or extra jacket to go with your wool hat and winter gloves. Other wise your set😊
Good ideas. I figure if I had to leave the truck I could toss in the multitool I keep in the door pocket.
@@MaineGirlOutdoorsDefinitely. I'd most likely have a Swiss Army knife in my pocket and an EDC fixed blade on me, but I'd also keep a small fixed blade and another Swiss Army knife in my bag.
After getting my daughters get home bag all finished up I decide to lay down and check out some RUclips vids. This was recommended! Great video, timing was ironic.
You are extremely beautiful, love the accent , I think I fell in love the first min! No creep.
Nice set up . Add a good knife some instant oatmeal and a rain poncho.
Love it, the way things are going you may need it.
Love watching a very honest presentation of get home gear. The survival tin "random crap"...I Love That because it is so honest. And the brushing teeth obsession shows as you have such a beautiful smile. Keep up the good work and we are praying you and your family weathered Lee without any major problems. Its not always about being tactical...just practical!
Thank you for watching and for your kind words. Lee didn't give us much trouble thankfully. A few trees down here and there and the power flickered several times but that's it.
Hey, a fellow Liam here! Great kit there. I’d consider integrating your kids into your system. As you have a fair bit of stuff, they could have a few small packs and they should have their own coats, hats, water etc. The Grayl Geopress is worth considering. Anyway, I like how natural you are in your videos too :) Keep the content coming!
My mom bought one kislux and she loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when she went out with it.
I felt this wonderful feeling in my mind, body and soul when she said “I prefer kislux
I just saw you’re in Maine. My ex had family in Sanford ME . Spent a lot of time there and in Kennebunkport and old orchard … I think that’s what they called it.
Great set up. Refreshing to see young women taking and interest in preparedness these days.
There is no Calvary, got to try and think ahead! Thanks for watching!
Howdy neighbor it's Tony it's been awhile since I have left any comments I'm not one for doing that but with your get home bag you need to try to find if you get an inflatable or collapsible bowl for whiskey a package or two of oatmeal you forgot spoon and a fork also you should take the batteries out of everything I have found just in case the battery explodes or something it doesn't mess up the item what I do I keep the item and the batteries in a baggie I also put a couple of coffee filters to purify the water before I use my straw this way I don't suck any doo doo into the straw sweetie take care of yourself and everybody as usual and it's always enjoyable watching you take care may God bless you and be safe
Thanks for sharing - my old "survival" bag is about 10 years out of service and in need of a refresh. Sounds like you managed to avoid the worst of the hurricane which is good to hear.
The hurricane wasn't bad. A few trees down but nothing major thankfully. Hope you are well.
@@MaineGirlOutdoors All is well and about all New Hampshire got was an average thunderstorm worth of wind/rain - glad Maine wasn't too much worse.
Im a go look though my bag now lol
I have to upgrade/winterize my kit! Seasons change and hand warmer season is coming soon. Great Info Thanks
I really love your taste and style always so chic. My faves would be the kislux leather backpack and the Swarovski pave diamond ring so gorg. Thank you for your recommendations.
Great video! Your approach is honest and refreshing. Keep up the great work. Love Maine. My wife has family in South Thomaston, so we try to get up there every year.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
I'm disabled so my bag is 10 pounds.good knife.bottle of water.matches .lighters.duct tape.small pan to cook in.small can opener.a couple things to eat.bandaids.antiseptic whipes.
The way things are going... 😊. IYKYK.
My two cents: You can replace the bar of soap with liquid soap in a sealed plastic bottle. In the event that you have to take a bath, your (now wet) bar of soap doesn't end up rubbing against your other toiletry items.
I didn't want to risk the liquid leaking. But good point!
Great video. Some good ideas there.
Thank you Danielle 🙂 Appreciate you & family 🙏 God Bless my friends
God bless! Hope you are doing well!
That's so awesome
Good video. Well done overall. But I do have some comments (definitely NOT criticisms, just some comments after watching more GHB/BOB videos than I can remember😁)
Toilet paper...I keep 1 roll in my GHB and 2 rolls in my BOB. They all have the inner roll removed, are flattened, then put into a vacuum-sealed bag (if you don't have a vacuum sealer, get one...they are awesome). The vacuum-sealed bags help to keep them flat (easier to store) and waterproof. To go with that, keep a large resealable bag (Ziploc) in the pack. If you ever need to open the vacuum-sealed bag, you'll need a way to keep the toilet paper dry and in a closed bag.
Also, put socks and underwear into vacuum-seal bags for the same reason. If your bag gets wet and the stuff on the inside gets wet, you don't want to have to put on wet socks or underwear if you need to change them. Also, wet toilet paper is obviously of no use.
But even with that, buy a rain cover for the backpack. Most decent backpacks keep the rain out, but they're not 100% waterproof. A rain cover will keep the rain out. I also keep a military style poncho in my packs. They're large enough that I can put it on over my pack and keep both me and my pack dry. But the rain cover for the pack is just another layer of protection from the elements.
As well, get rid of the alkaline batteries and go with lithium-ion. Lithium-ion batteries rarely leak, plus they're rechargeable. That way, you don't have to keep trying to replace the batteries. Just keep freshly-charged batteries on hand and you're good to go.
All that said, you are more well-prepared than a lot of people. Keep up the awesome work.
Love your thinking and glad you’re preparing. Don’t know what part of the country you live in but now practice using your bag. You’ll find yourself making lots of adjustments and always practice in a safe way but practice somehow. Oh and most important pray and go to church regularly, GOD loves you and will watch over HIS own. God bless and take care👍🏻
Good advice! God bless you too!
I want to see a video of you putting that emergency blanket back in that little bag lol
🤣🤣🤣 It would be entertaining for sure LOL.
You have a well thought get home bag.
Great presentation! Hope the wind tonight doesn’t mess with you to much. The one thing I found invaluable while I was in Maine was a silky gomboy hand saw for those pesky trees that block your path or to cut into dry wood. The most likely other major event would be solar flare or emp rendering autos useless. So you could run into someone you know but they will be walking too. Self protection, food water, signal, shelter. Check. Good stuff
A silky saw would be a great addition for sure. I enjoy the feedback on this stuff, you guys give me good ideas. Lee didn't mess with us too much. All hat, no cattle lol. A few trees down but nothing major. Take care!
This is a great kit!! I do have some suggestions if you would be open to it! :P
1. You can use a Platypus instead of the Smart Bottle to save space.
2. You can take out some of the storm matches and put them in tiny ziplocs to save on bulk.
3. Instead of the waterproof cover for the bag, bring those black drum liner bags. So not only can it protect your bag from water but you can also use it for many other uses, including shelter.
4. Bring 1-2 more flashlights. But tinier ones. Just in case you lose the headlamp.
5. I read someone in the comments saying to switch to Lithium batteries. Nah, you’re doing it right. Stick with AA or AAAs since those are the most common everywhere. Also bring more. What’s nice about those is that they save you time. You will not have time to wait for something to charge. You need to pop in and fast.
6. Bring more ductape for this kit. I normally am ultralight with stuff but I realized that in a situation like this, best to bring more ducttape, it can be used to stitch shelter together.
7. Bring more spare batteries.
8. See if you can shrink that medikit down. . If you really look at the core of what most medikits are that's the main basis of it. Something that stops you from bleeding, keeps you clean and let time handle the rest. You might be able to split your medical kits into 2. Have your big one separate from your backpack. But have the one in the backpack cover the essentials, ie tourniquet, Isreali bandages, etc and for tiny scrapes. I'm about 99% certain you can cut the size of your medical kit by about 3/4 in size but still cover all bases. Look up "ultralight medical kits" from doctors www.reddit.com/r/Ultralight/comments/6e01ik/ultralight_first_aid/
Great learning video, you have someone poaching your name up there, hope you can protect yourself from this kind of thing you are a gem and perfect example of mother and friend thank you
Hmmm..... Interesting.
Thank you for watching, take care!
How much fun to watch you. Charming and sensible. Subbed

Hello from Western Ma.
Hello!
You seem to cover a lot of bases with your bag. Let's hope that you will never have to be in a situation to have to use it. Looks like you survived Lee alright. Keep the videos coming! God Bless!
