This is the way to watch free ascent, complete run with no cuts. I wish I could watch Alex's run on Free Rider and his other feats in Yosemite in one complete full video. I'd watch him climb or do a free solo in its entirety whatever the time may be
This climb is a full five to six grades under his limit. Would you look pumped climbing five to six grades under your limit? He does have an incredibly smooth style, he and Ondra are the two best climbers in terms of reading rock, Imo.
The line of questions was so in line with how trivial celeb interviews go. However, what Alex Honnold accomplished and what his feat represents about human potential and the power of the mind, would need a different format to honor Alex's work, investment and unbelievable human accomplishment. Looking forward to seeing the documentary!!!
climbers of lesser talent screamed after reaching the top- to let loose their anxiety or fear. .alex doesnot because he is in perfect control of what he is doing. .
Actually, just looking at the video I was wondering why it was a 5.13, and was thinking the same thing- it looked like a 5.10. I guess it is a combination of you had to be there, and it helped greatly being Alex Honnold?
I love how zen the guy is. I love watching him climb. So relaxed...unlike Adam Ondra videos where I have to explain to my wife that I'm not watching gay porn...
his every free solo climb was a meditation, not to accomplish. .he is a combination of a yogi and stoicism- so detached, so calm, non-competitive and god-like. .
Nothing special: we all seem to only be able to elevate Honnold to a godlike status regardless of what he does. OK climbing. As for the film - absolutely dreadful and amateurish with a soundtrack that beggars belief. Does no one out there have any critical sensibility?
Thank you for a great video, no music, no stupid commentary..just watching someone tackle a route. Thank You :)

its amazing what an endurance beast honnold is, whenever you look at one of his climbs, he never seems to be pumped...

his footwork is impeccable, hence the lack of the pump factor
His endurance and pace are second to none. So impressive.
"anybody else wanna top rope...?....anybody...?"
I agree... what a cool dude
Strength of character. The man has a powerful mind.
