  • Following our British shark documentary series, the plan has always been to chum British waters to see what wildlife comes.
First time chumming for me, still have alot to learn, the reality of the chumming series is i'd be grateful to see any sharks, I have no doubt Great whites occasionally visit British waters as dicussed throughout the series, but they are a rare fish in general. The goal is to find Porbeagle, Mako, thresher sharks. Equipped with technology such as several gopros, aerial and under water drones, fish finder scanners.... I set out to sea on my tiny 16ft boat in search! This will be an ongoing series.

The reality of finding GWS in BRITAIN, they’re a rare shark globally. So this series is more likely to find Mako, porbeagle, blue and other sharks, which is more realistic! Enjoy and thanks for your support 🇬🇧👍 for record I’ll only ever chum 2+ miles out to sea well away from recreational sea users near the coast

As a child we always went to Cornwall on holiday, mostly Hollywell Bay or Penzance. We always saw a lot of sharks, sadly most caught by fishermen. Went out mackerel fishing and that always enticed the sharks to show up. They were Porbeagles and Blue sharks and the odd Basking shark. I always found it fascinating ❤

I firmly believe that great white sharks are likely navigating the waters off the west coast of Ireland, attracted by the abundant tuna and other large prey species found there. The seal population in these waters is thriving, making it an even more enticing hunting ground for these apex predators.
It seems plausible that these great whites could be migrating from Mediterranean waters and the seas surrounding the Canary Islands, moving north towards the British Isles. This behaviour would mirror that of the Great Whites observed on the Eastern Sea Board in the US, known for their seasonal northward journey during the summer and autumn months.
Given these observations, it becomes increasingly clear that the potential presence of Great Whites in these waters warrants thorough scientific investigation. The implications of such a discovery could have significant impacts on our understanding of Great White shark migratory patterns and ecosystems of the region.

A few years a go I had several strange encounters rock fishing into deep water in West cork.
Firstly distressed porpoises almost jumping on the rocks, around the same time that day the seals were acting strange they didn't seem to want to leave the rocks.
About 1 week later I went back to the same mark and washed up was the carcass of a large dolphin in layman's terms it looked like it had been bit in half, it had a huge and I mean huge chunk taken out of its mid section , other parts of the body appeared to been taken.
I would probably of.dismissed it but along with the previous porpoises and seals behaviour it did make me think was there an apex predatory working the area.

Are you seeing many fish on the Fish Finder? It's odd that you and a couple of the other local RUclipsrs have dived a few areas that were designated Marine Nature Reserves years ago, but seem devoid of life. There is an Eelgrass zone over near Garwick, I wonder if all the fish are hiding over there? It's a shame that Liverpool University decided the Port Erin Marine Lab wasn't worth maintaining, expanding or relocating as there big holes in our understanding of the waters and sea bed up to the 12 mile limit. Good video regardless, as always. Great to see The 3 Amigos out in the Warriors. Glad to see a few fish were happy to take bait.

    Hi Mate,
Fellow Brit here who happens to be a veteran shark fisherman, caught hundreds of them the biggest being a 12ft tiger shark.
I live in London and shark fish predominantly in florida.
I’d love to come out and catch a big one in British waters. If you want to catch monster sized sharks you need to use massive baits.
I’d catch one of those topes and use that as live bait, hook it,cut its tail off and throw him overboard. If there’s any monsters in the area you’ll get one with that.
I use 30lb black tips for bait in florida.

Great whites have been spotted in both Irish and British waters.. not long ago a man was attacked by a shark off the west coast of Ireland and suffered pretty bad injuries. They have also been spotted in the Irish Sea, the sea between Ireland and UK

Regarding your inflatable boat it appears you have a long shaft engine on your dinghy it only requires a short shaft and with a long shaft it will never be fast because your cavitation place is too deep in the water check it out mate👍👍

Great content and channel I have learnt more from you and your channel is far more interesting than any marine biologist. Seems any GW sightings in and around Uk are always basking sharks. I have never seen a picture of a basking shark with a white belly and under body. I can’t wait for first confirmed sighting and I hope it’s you which finds it 👍

Probably just as well for those ducklings that you didn't in fact entice any sharks. Also sharks are known for test-biting electrical items so it may be a good idea to come up with some kind of protection for your sub and Go-pro. After waiting so long for parts it would be a shame if the sub got chewed up after!

We had the Hottest temperatures ever in the U.K. in 2022. Sea temperatures around the U.K. are also increasing in the Summer . Plus the increase in seal populations means it’s only of matter of time before Great Whites are confirmed in U.K. waters . It’s just a matter of time before we have a confirmed sighting . They’re probably here already but in very small numbers . They’ve been tracked to the Bay of Biscay . With GWs fitted with transponders .
