Good video, once again. About the octominers, I know that RPM started the trend, but open frame veddha that are stackable still in my view do make make more sense, especially because they are cheap now.

Love that you guys both shared your goals for the year. I'm new to this game. Invested with some friends pretty close to the top of the market. We had huge success growing 18.5k to over 30 GPUs while paying for power. The bear market and electric rates forced us to shut down but we have held the equipment. It's so helpful to hear your thoughts and foward thinking plans. We need an exit strategy or to decide if we are going to grow it out as all of your had. Happy new year and thanks for the content.

I built a small open air frame last bull run. Was only getting cards I could at the time and what could fit with the psu. ( 1 3080ti, 1 3070ti, and a 3060ti) I bought a mystic miner recently because I wanted to lean more towards ease of setup with ability to expand. I feel like I'm a little lost in direction going further. Not certain which cards I should load it up with. 😅
I know I'm missing the AI boat, but I'm all AMD GPUs. Dunno why, that's just what I started out with a couple years ago and that's what I know so I stick with it...
Personaly, my goal is to have my first GPU Rig ready for winter 2024, probably an octominer, or something else, and more solar to offset the power bill and be always 99% profitable

Hello friend, I love your videos, this year I bought 8 3080 and 4 3090, now I have a total of 20 GPUs and I haven't stopped mining from the merge, unfortunately I had some problems and I had to sell some of my coins to pay debts, but I have faith that everything will improve that's why I invested more in GPUs. greetings from Argentina

Octominers are boring. They are good for a large-scale mining facility. But open air rig is way more exciting. You're right. I like the open air rigs because you can maneuver around stuff to make it look more better with the R GB or the cables. Or different fans. It's more fun to play with.

AMD cards are a beautiful thing on a low electric rate. Kawpow is the glory!
I would think that would be the exact opposite, because who cares what the power consumption is when the power rates are low? It's one thing to have 6 cents power rates, and use twice the power as that's only an additional 6 cents, but a doubling of power at 20 cents is over triple the cost over a 6 cents power rate.
Your example of getting rid of the TI cards for 3070. Not just are the prices for even used EVGA 3070 soaring compared to half a year ago. The Problem is just even with the power savings, you need so many more cards to maintain your mining density on cryptos like Alephium & Dynex & even you did what I selling almost all of my high end Cards the revenue minus EBay Fees is not enough to replace all these expensive Cards which I sold at a loss of about 50% & now i am struggling to get just one 6x3070 EVGA & 6x 3070 MSI Gamining X Trio together. In difference to you i saved 2 of my brand new 3070 ti Gaming X Trio & Zotac 3070 ti Amp Holo which i now have to transfer into 6 GPU Server Cases bc the last summer in California was the hottest ever recorded with temperatures up to 110 F & i live in the SF Bay Area

Look dude, it isn’t just about the extra power consumption while mining KawPoW algorithm, it means you have to crank up the fans, your cards will run extremely hot, thermal pads will degrade quickly, cards will not last as long, and yes Ian talking from a standpoint of Nvidia. The cost of 30 series fans are not cheap like most other fans, neither are thermal pads..

@@DjMines AMD 6 series are consuming around the same power efficancy as nvidia 3000 series,its just AMD reporting lower wattage then actaul,and that what hasrate no shows
ppl getting carried away with amd kawpow lower wattage incorrect readings
the extra 20-30% in power increase isn't going to make your cards degrade 300% faster, but sure go on. more kawpow coins for me.
What's considered "quickly", and "not last as long"? I've had 3000 series cards since before the bullrun, and have yet to change a single thermal pad, because Kawpow isn't memory intensive, thus the thermal pads that are used for memory only are still working just fine to control memory temps which I can clearly see on my GDDR6x cards. Also I have yet to have single card failure, or even a fan failure on any of my 3000 series cards after 3+ years, and I've been doing a majority on my mining on Kawpow coins, probably around three quarters of my mining has been on that algo, and I'm even mining on Kawpow as we speak.
