El Cerrito: Natural hot springs and the huge pyramid

- At the edge of the bustling modern city of Querétaro there is a little hill (cerrito) covered in cacti which contains many secrets. Nearby in the countryside there is a natural phenomenon in the form of boiling water bubbling up out of the middle of the field, which can explain why people settled first settled this desert. Only uncovered in the late 20th century, this pyramid remains little-known to the outside world.
Good job of using the correct pronunciation of the indigenous groups and not deducing that aliens must have been here !

This area of Mexico is indeed marvelous . The climate is wonderful; it is hot during the dry season, but not unbearably so. Nighttime becomes on the cool side, and makes outdoor dining extremely pleasant. During the "temporada de lluvia" you can expect regular afternoon showers and nippy nights. This area, much of it a throwback to times past, have long been discovered by international tourists and ex-pats, and indeed have become an "in" spot for Mexicans from near-by Mexico City. Thank you for such a wonderful series showcasing these brilliant civilizations.

King or Tlatoani Xolot was a great Chichimeca leader he was the base of a great dynasty and the creator of the Tenayuca Empire. Tenayuca is a fabulous archeological site of Mesoamerica building at the 13th century.

I have driven by the location several times and never knew this ruin existed. And I have never heard of this culture till now. Very cool location.

Tula is a very complex place, in terms of its history. And also in terms of filming. The first time I went there it was insanely windy, the second time the groundskeeper was mowing the main plaza, and I was nearly attacked by stray dogs living on top of the ball court. But I will go back a third time and record it I swear.
I don't buy the story that the Spanish were unaware of the pyramid, considering how perfectly the fort is placed on top. Perhaps it was intentionally built on an existing foundation using the cornerstones of the original temple.
Could be. It was extremely overgrown, and the back half of it still hasn't been excavated so you can see what it would have looked like, and besides the shape it looks quite natural. In any case the building will itself is so old that it is also a protected monument so it's not easy to check underneath!
Well, a look at facts, & as the centuries went by, the "new building" if any at all, is of much lower quality.
🤔 Whoever built this magnificent structure was much higher in intelligence than we humans.

My wife is chichimeca and her Mtdna points at 1000 generations or 40,000 years.

@@RogueReplicant Chichimeca is a vague term referring generally to nomadic people from the north of mesoamerica, but occasionally some of those people groups did settle and sometimes they did so in abandoned cities. But the term originally meant something like "nomads," so it's categorically impossible for a nomad to be settled, if that makes sense.
Semi-nomadic... some of them were. Like Xi'oi people.
@@AntonioSerranoMx91 The Pame and many others of the Chichimeca still live there and they practice their dancing and costumes and religion throughout the region on certain holidays, and it is always beautiful to see
