Nice install... until the end. I'd check that power cord after the unit has run for a while. Did the same thing with an air conditioner I was using and found the coiled up cord heated up, uncoiling it stopped the heating.
Would be interesting to see a comparison of room temps vs power consumed for a modern A/C. and a vintage one. Same sized units and using the same room of course.
@@dustinkauffman5868 The problem with this comparison is it would be basing the units' size off the theoretical capacity displayed on the data sheet. The units seem to be getting weaker and weaker as time goes on, yet the capacity ratings are staying the same. What we would need for a good comparison is the air flow of the units, likely measured in CFM, which we could then use in combination with temperature and power consumption to calculate the actual efficiency in a given environment. Unfortunately I do not have the means to determine the CFM at this time. It's also worth noting that the power consumption needs to be measured in usage over a period of time, not real-time consumption, because I believe the older unit would probably consume more power during operation, but shut off the compressor far sooner than the new one.
How is it holding up? Also I got permission to pull the fire alarm at school. I even was allowed to record a video of it and then post it on my RUclips channel.
Great install Jordan... I'm sure you put the filter in afterwards and yes I too am looking forward to the start-up sound of this unit.👍
Thanks
Nice installation of this unit Jordan. Look forward to seeing take care of the kitchen this cooling season.
Thanks.

It doesn't heat up at all. Any cord in good condition that's not overloaded shouldn't heat when coiled.
Who needs gyms when you have giant vintage ACs?
Not me!
Good job bro i enjoyed the installation of this ac can't wait to see it in action soon
Glad you enjoyed it bro.
Good job installing this air conditioner in the kitchen I can't wait to hear this unit run and start-up sound good video bro
Thanks
Did you see the new U shape window air conditioners? Might wanna review those
I have no interest. I prefer quality vintage equipment.
