    Happy day 4 guys! Since this a hot topic in the comments on this video, wanted to let you know that the primer I use in every video (Hylamide matte 12) unfortunately isn't the reason this foundation and the past few have been shitty. Since these are so pre-recorded I have already worn this foundation again and a couple others with a different primer (Revlon photoready) and had the same results...this one just didn't work out on my skin and looks super heavy and cakey. As far as the primer making my acne worse, it doesn't. I've used this primer and the moisturizer for months and have had good skin phases while continuing to use the products. I am very cautious about the products I use on a regular basis and how they're affecting my acne. If I notice my breakouts getting worse, I eliminate that specific product from my routine. I'll be continuing to test out each foundation with a different primer, mixer, powder, etc. to try and get the best results I can and will update you guys with how everything works out in the wrap up/ranking video :) xx

    Quick trick using basic color theory: If a foundation is too yellow, find a lavender color corrector or something more purple (not straight up blue, that'll look too green) and mix in a bit. For you, I don't think it'll lighten your foundation significantly but it'll knock out some of the yellow and give you a more neutral tone.

    I use this on my sensitive, combination, acne-prone skin. I've used it with the ELF poreless primer, too faced hangover Rx primer, and no primer. It always looks like skin and stays all day. I've never had an issue. It has become my HG foundation. It may be the primer, Taylor. Love you!

    This is my favorite foundation right now- I have oily skin with large pores and hyper pigmentation, but minimal texture. I've found that I like the application best with the ecotools sponge even though it does soak up product. I also like this foundation even more as I wear it. I'm bummed it didn't work for you, Taylor!

    I have SO many problems with foundation due to sweating and oiliness, creasing, fading, even fragrance which causes me migraines! I tried the Bare pro and it is a heavier formula, but I have more mature skin and was afraid to have it be too thick or settle in lines so I used a damp sponge to apply and then to smooth and remove excess, waited a minute and went ALL over with a nearly dry sponge and it looked even and has a nice full cover. I did like that it wasn't flat or matte dry looking. I have mature skin and it had a look of youth, smoothness and didn't settle in lines for me, YAY! I do use a serum before applying, I don't know if that makes the difference. BUT it DOES stay on! I wore it in our hot triple digits weather to my one of my granddaughters birthday parties and was surprised! I blotted the sweat and it stayed perfectly. PLUS I DIDN'T HAVE ANY ALLERGIC REACTIONS , YAY! It says to use a brush but when I did I got a "masky look" too. Maybe for the ones this works for, the damp sponge application and then "go over" might work as well. It is my fav for times I want flawless, younger looking skin. I don't powder over it and I use a cushion blush. I know some ladies with older skin, like me, that it works well for and they do it that way too. It may be that skin texture might play a part and it is thick when you put that blob to dab from to your face and blend, just keep dabbing to the look you want and let it set. But everyone is different and things act in all different ways on everyone. But, I and others have found it to work well. I love your 15 foundations in 15 days, it has helped me a lot! I just wanted the ladies who were considering this to get a sample and try it, applying like I did with a damp sponge, DON'T WASTE MONEY ON THE BRUSH THEY TRY TO SEEL YOU! lol! BUY a pretty cushion compact blush instead. It looks nice with this! Just had to share my experience with the Bare Pro! Thanks

    So I have extremely sensitive skin and I have realized with this Foundation you have to use the primer that they just came out with which is great for combo skin and you also have to use the brush and a pushing motion instead of a swiping motion which is the brush that they launched with the foundation I promise you you will see a very great finish I then take my powder and press it with my beauty blender try this technique it's awesome.

    I used to work for Bare when they first released this foundation. Best way to apply it is with a foundation brush in strokes not swirls or dabs. Its very water resistant and there's almost a perfect shade for everyone. The only problem with this foundation is that it oxidises a lot. Ususally we color match our customers using the pro pressed powder. Then we have the customer walk around and shop for few mins to insure the liquid foundation is completely dry to confirm a color match. For example my shade is pecan. It goes on looking too red and washed out but then when it dries its a perfect match to my skintone. I have oily skin and after 8 hours of wear I had a small amount of creasing by my smile lines which for me is expected when I use any foundation. I also didn't set it with any powder and it held up really well.

I work a Sephora so I have to do my full makeup everyday and if I don't like something it goes to the back of the drawer and this is growing on me. I hope you find a good mix with it! I loooove this foundation. I've bought it the day it came out and it's the one I'm wearing almost everyday (depends on what I'm doing). I use it with the clarisonic makeup brush and it's beautiful. BUT you need to be careful with this one and you shouldn't put too much and you shouldn't put concealer on top of the foundation. I always put concealer first and then I go on with the foundation but I try to blend them together and I'm NOT putting foundation on top of the concealer (does it make sense?) and I use the Tarte conclealer so it's a thick concealer.
    Oh and I don't have any acne, my skin is pretty clean so maybe that changes some things too. And I always moisturize my skin a lot before I apply this foundation but it never made me break out or anything.
    But I understand that it can look "cakey" if you don't pay attention and if you layer it too much. So I think this is a foundation that would suit people that don't have a lot of skin problems and don't mind putting a small amount of the foundation because they don't need a lot of coverage. I find the foundation stays on during the day and doesn't move. If you powder a lot you need to be aware that it will show off a little bit. So this foundation is better with cream products. But I still use powder (blush, bronzer) cause I don't mind and people often compliment my make up so I guess it looks ok. I also think this is a foundation that is perfect for a night out, going to a restaurant etc because it will definitly make you look flawless :) BUT it won't make you look like "you have nothing on", know what I mean? It's not a light coverage.
    Just wanted to give my feedback on this one :)

      I think you're right. I looked at the ingredients...its loaded with silicones. Basically, a silicone bomb. I don't see glycerin in it, which really helps foundation stick to the face. And the Urban Decay Rehab Makeup Prep gel she used is basically all silicone too.

    I love watching reviews like this, because it just reminds me of how different every one is! I love this foundation for natural days, but I can definitely see why you would not like it because it is not full coverage. If you use a pump or two, it looks very beautiful and natural on the skin. I would only suggest this to people who like natural light-medium coverage.

    I agree with your earlier commenter Gypsy Monroe. I am starting to suspect Hylamide priner being the root cause of why some of these foundations are not performing well. Looking at the ingredients, I see it's loaded with silicones and that might not always gel well with certain foundations - depending of they are silicone, water, oil based. I wish you would go back to a more neutral primer like the Laura Mercier primer. Seems to have more skin sensitive ingredients as well conpared to the Hylamide. Please consider reviewing your choice of primer? I love your content and appreciate all your hard work and integrity you put into them.

    Taylor, I'm sorry if you have already made a video addressing this, but I figure it's worth a shot. I've had acne since I was 9 years old and for the first time in 15 years, my face is finally clearing up. Acne.org was the initial system that helped me, but Curology is what has truly been the game changer for me just this past month. It's even slowly getting rid of my hyperpigmentation, which for my skin, is miraculous. I still have a long way to go but I'm finally hopeful. I hope this is able to help even one person because my quality of life has improved so so much. Thank you for making videos and helping me and countless others feel less alone ♡

    First, I love thataylaa because she's so real and amazing and her reviews are bomb.
    That being said my skin type is nothing like hers, I just watch a lot of her videos because of the above mentioned things + she knows when stuff is full coverage obviously + she's pale like me.
    If you have skin like mine, generally "normal" not super dry or oily, with very mild acne (but a lot of redness) then honestly this stuff is great! It's pretty long wearing, doesn't crease on me when I set it with a powder (which I do to every foundation), is full coverage and just pretty great honestly. Also I like to use the Bare Minerals Prime Time and rose water to prime.
    However, I understand what she is saying for her problems, we're just different people! Just wanted to let anyone else who might have my skin type and watches thataylaa for the love of her content know what I thought of this foundation!

    Hi Taylor! I wanted to quickly share something with you that worked for me. For years I used liquid foundations and my skin is super sensitive to everything, I was constantly breaking out and tried literally everything to stop my breakouts. I’m 30 and I started researching more and found out that my breakouts could be due to all the bad and pore clogging chemicals in my makeup and skincare products. I switched over to all natural and organic products including to a mineral foundation and in just a few weeks my skin is 100% clear. No more breakouts. I was told it was hormonal but clearly my skincare regimen was the cause of my congested skin. Silicones don’t allow it to breathe so the powder mineral foundation worked awesome for me. I did go through a period where it didn’t look great because I didn’t have hw coverage I wanted with my bad skin but after about 3 weeks my skin is clear and smooth and I don’t even need much makeup now. Send me a message if you’re interested in the products I’m using. I ordered a shit ton of samples first. The foundation is lily lolo mineral foundation, it has the best coverage and finish I think!! And I’d love to see you do a first impression of it!! Thanks for all the videos, you’re awesome!!

    Does using the brush and sponge on your face more than once cause you to breakout more? Is that even possible? I'm concerned my brushes are getting contaminated if I use them on a breakout

    • @NatalieValentina6
      @NatalieValentina6 7 лет назад +2

      xoxoem25 Hey! IDK about everyone, but for me, it's really important to wash my foundation/concealer brushes/sponges/etc. with each use when I have a breakout. Why take the chance of spreading the bacteria, especially because I find that breakouts can spread even without product contamination.

    • @Ana-dk3no
      @Ana-dk3no 7 лет назад +2

      xoxoem25 honestly my acne is gone now but I can't bring myself to re-wet a foundation soaked sponge from the day before and put it back on my face.Washing it before each use is a must,but a lot of people don't do that.

    • @elsb9869
      @elsb9869 7 лет назад +1

      Sponges can cause break outs since its extremely hard to fully sanitize. With a good soap and regular washings brushes would be a better bet.

    • @andyfisher4754
      @andyfisher4754 7 лет назад

      xoxoem25 have to have to wash your sponge before each use 😬😳 Also if you want to keep good clean healthy skin you should wash your brushes once every two weeks if not every week! 🙏🏽 Another thing once a week take a tissue and wipe your pressed makeup clean, especially if you have had a breakout or have been ill! Don't share makeup , brushes or sponges!! This all of the above is easy to do to keep your skin healthy! 🤗

      Jane Believe about to start Sept/Oct but was not sure when and if to start due to a busy schedule. My experience, if my skin is at its best and I have real good skin days, foundation looks always perfect. Sometimes I have a few blemishes and more texture than other days, then I notice it right away looking at the same foundation, I complaint about it, while I don't when my skin is at its best. Long story short, how can a foundation look good if the main most important thing, the skin itself is looking bad? Not being offending, just pointing it out. My priority would be to start with Roac as soon as possible. People will stay watching her channel with other subjects than foundation too!

    • @heidisapp
      @heidisapp 7 лет назад +2

      Rianne. R I think a lot of people that struggle with skin issues similar to hers also trust her judgement on what will work well even with textured skin and/or breakouts. I get what you are saying. However, I know she can truly tell a great foundation vs a not so great foundation regardless of a breakout. I love everything she reviews but truthfully her 15 DOF is what pulled me in and Im so happy its finally here. I honestly dont even notice or mind her blemishes. If nothing else it gives a great comparison to see how truly full coverage something is. 😊

    Just a thought, I know that Bare Minerals original foundation's range goes cool, neutral, then warm. They jump in 3s if that makes sense. So if the lightest shade is too light for me, I have to jump 3 shades to get the right undertone.

    Oily skin gal here (not combo-just 100% oily lol) and I have to mix this foundation with the Bare Minerals Serum foundation. This new one on its own is just too thick and almost too matte for even my skin. Makes my skin feel tight, then my skin goes into oil over production mode after 4 hours and I look a mess. The Serum one is so pigmented but of course too oily for my skin so mixing these two just works for me. I like that they're both mineral based and even though makeup in general isn't always great for our skin, I feel less guilty about using this brand.

    I have the same problem with double wear and Nars luminous foundation. I found out that if I take a paddle brush and use that to apply the foundation directly to my skin. Let it sit in the skin not even a minute then take a soft buffing brush and buff it in. It takes away the cakey foundation look but not the coverage. I think it gives the foundation to warm and set to the skin and then you just have to buff around the edges and add extra coverage where you need it.

    I use this foundation with the smashbox radiance primer and pair it with the laura mercier translucent powder and it doesn't crease on me or look cakey. When I apply the foundation with a sponge I always spray it with a setting spray and directly put the foundation on my face first, not the sponge and it looks fantastic!

    I have been playing with this foundation a lot because at first I didn’t like it but I wanted it to work for me because it doesn’t make me breakout and stays on my face FOREVER! I found that if I use a flat top kabuki and apply a light coat and then go in and apply another coat on top of where I need more coverage. Also I noticed that when I used a hydrating primer it helped the appearance of the foundation and I no longer get lines. I have been using the HangoveRx primer. Also the Bare Pro powder foundation makes the foundation look 10x better
