That's what you call an act. At every second of this clip you are entertained. He is creating a character, making jokes, keeping the continuity. I don't know when, but somewhere along the way we stopped appreciating this kind of performers. All we have now are bad Netflix specials with comedians who are clearly trying to fill in the time because they don't have enough material. I miss those days. good times..

5:36 that was probably the hardest part the weight difference is an amazing display of his control over the juggled items, while he's still able to take a bite out of the apple and time the egg correctly. This is nothing short of damm impressive.
I juggle quite a lot, and I think the tight behind-the-back throws were fundamentally more difficult than juggling the egg, apple and bowling ball in a basic cascade pattern. However, tracking what is in what hand for the various bites is indeed quite difficult. Although he almost certainly has the same pattern each time, so it might be muscle memory.
Yes, people think that he's a comic or a comedian... but as he stated earlier, he's a juggler. I guess people don't really pay attention to his skill as a juggler because he's that funny. But what surprises people that actually "know", is how much of a good juggler he actually is.

This was the 1986 Royal Variety Performance. I worked that show from the flys 😁 He had the whole crew in stitches throughout the rehearsal for this. His act was originally longer than he was ultimately allowed (and I think it was cut down for the tv coverage too) Not heard of him since then 😔

I remember watching Mr. Davis on HBO's "The Young Comedian's Show in 1979. What a great performer, he prefaced his juggling of several sharp objects with "And now for the entertainment of those in the back rows..."
I had forgotten about Michael! I used to be a juggler in the 70s and 80s. Michael was one of our inspirations. I went on to other things, my partner went on to form the duo called the "Passing Zone". You may have heard of them.
The entire set leading up to the final trick was not just hilarious in its own right, it also served to subtly persuade me that maybe he's just a comedian and can't actually juggle that well. So when he did pull it off, it was that much more impressive.
I don't remember when the first time I saw this was but I've seen it many times since. This is one of my favorite videos of all time. Hilarious and also amazing talent.
I come back to this again and again bc the execution of every last detail is magnificent. If he hits your funny bone you have to see every last scrap of material he does. 👌

This guy reminds me *so much* of Victor Borge, in that they have a dry delivery and simply impeccable comic timing, and their routine is brilliantly based around a secondary activity. I just wish Michael Davis had been as prolific as Victor Borge. I know he's still kicking around, time for a career resurgence, Michael!
I remember seeing this years ago. I'm so old I don't know whether it was on RUclips or he done the same act over here on the Paul Daniels show? I think probably the latter of the two. I'm so glad I found this. It warms my heart to see people entertaining others with skills and abilities that aren't that common and he does it with such style and humour. If you pay close attention he hardly juggles at all.
