  • Inside The $8 Million Beechcraft King Air 350ER Plane
    0:00 - Intro
This is the Beechcraft King Air 350ER, a turboprop that boasts a maximum speed of 312 knots and an impressive range of 2,580 nautical miles, and today, we’re going inside it.
    0:15 - Cabin
The Beechcraft King Air 350ER cabin design makes clever use of its available space to provide a welcoming and comfortable setting for up to 8 passengers. The dual-club seating configuration features a cabin height of 4 feet 10 inches or 1.48 meters, and a width of 4 feet 6 inches or 1.38 meters.
The overall aesthetic of the Beechcraft King Air 350ER interior exudes a sense of contemporary design, with tasteful color palettes and LED accent lighting contributing to a pleasing atmosphere. The seats have been significantly improved, and the tables are higher and within easy reach.
Legroom is surprisingly generous. Complementing this is an enhanced environmental control system that maintains a comfortable cabin temperature, while the adjustable windows allow passengers to control the amount of natural light entering the cabin.
A large lavatory caters to the comfort of passengers. Storage space within the cabin is plentiful, featuring a 56-cubic-foot or 1.6-cubic-meter baggage compartment.
Finally, an important element that enhances passenger comfort is the automatic cabin pressurization system.
    2:52 - Cockpit
The heart of the Beechcraft King Air 350ER cockpit is the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 integrated avionics system with dual primary flight displays and a multifunction display.
These large LCD screens offer clarity and reduce clutter. The touchscreen interface ensures easy access to various parameters, ranging from navigation data to real-time weather updates.
A unique feature of the cockpit is its advanced weather radar capability embedded within the Pro Line Fusion suite.
Further enhancing safety and ease of operations, the aircraft incorporates an automated fuel system. This system, paired with the plane's extended fuel capacity, ensures the plane can handle long-duration missions or reach remote destinations where fuel availability may be limited.
The King Air 350ER is also equipped with automatic propeller feathering and rudder boost for engine failures, as well as automatic cabin pressurization, which are instrumental in enhancing both safety and comfort. These systems, among others, underline the focus on redundancy, ensuring the crew always has a backup option in case of emergencies.
The Beechcraft King Air 350ER cockpit layout respects the value of tactile control, with the knobs and switches lending an air of tradition to the technologically advanced workspace. This synthesis of the old and the new makes the King Air 350ER a pleasure to fly.
    5:16 - Engine and Performance
Talking about performance, the Beechcraft King Air 350ER is powered by 2 Pratt & Whitney PT6A-60A engines with a TBO of 3,600 hours and with each one producing 1,050 lbs of thrust. The King Air 350ER requires 5,000 feet or 1,525 meters of runway to take off at sea level on a standard day. The aircraft climbs with the propellers at a low 1,600 rpm, and the ride is quiet, but the results are good with rates of around 1,500 fpm even at very high weights.
The Pratt & Whitney PT6A-60A turboprop engines-the same as the regular 350-are very well proven and qualify for a 3,600 hour time between overhauls. The engines allow a maximum cruising altitude of 35,000 feet or 10,670 meters, and a maximum cruise speed of 312 knots. At 300 knots in the high-20s, it burns around 95 gallons or 360 liters of fuel per hour; reduce speed into the mid-200s and the burn rate drops to less than 60 gallons or 227 liters per hour.
With an impressive total fuel capacity of 5,192 lbs or 2,355 kg, it stands as a flying testament to the plane's capability to loiter for over 12 hours or cover distances of more than 2,400 nautical miles or 4,445 kilometers at high-speed cruise.
The aircraft has a maximum range of 2,580 nautical miles, which is 2,970 miles or 4,780 kilometers, and a minimum landing distance of 4,700 feet or 1,430 meters, all while maintaining a maximum net payload of 2,600 lbs or 1,180 kg and a full-fuel payload of 1,000 lbs or 453 kg.
8:25 - Purchase Price and Operating Cost
The base Beechcraft King Air 350ER price is $8 million before options, and the Beechcraft King Air 350ER charter price is estimated at $2,500 to $4,000 per hour. While the total yearly fixed cost is roughly $200,000 to $300,000, the average hourly operating cost is estimated at $1,500 to $2,000.

a couple of errors in this video:
    - auto pressurization is first introduced in the 360 variant, not the 350ER…
    - (individual) engine power rating is 1,050 shaft horsepower, not pounds of thrust
    - the Proline 21 IFIS glass cockpit is different from the Proline Fusion (had to clarify it since the Proline Fusion’s weather radar was mentioned, although the Fusion’s software is based on the 21)
    - also, the Garmin G1000 was also shown in the video while discussing the Proline 21
    - cabin featured is for the older vintage 350s, while the features being discussed is for the later 350i/350iER and the current 360 series

Nice plane. Ideal as an entry level private aircraft or for charter by the occasional medium range traveler.
