    As a 49er fan, I'm shocked at your guys' takes. It really seems like you guys don't watch 49er football games. All of you completely underestimate how good a QB Purdy is, and how much Shanahan values him. Personally, I think Purdy will take a team-friendly deal - because that's just who he is. But he'll be paid as a top tier QB - because that's what he is, and how the organization values him. His performance 3 games into the season puts him imo in the top 5 at the position; it's early in the season, and anything can happen (like him getting injured behind that crappy O line), but if he continues on the progression he's been on since starting, you can bank it that he'll be a 49er for many years to come.

      If Purdy does not take a team friendly deal ... a lot of good teammates could be opponents. Rob

    As a 49ers Fan… I enjoyed hearing your “outsider” perspective. The Faithful are expecting Brock to get “paid, paid” (as Trent Williams said) and Kyle & John (and ownership) will have to figure out the salary cap. 58 million… ? Ask the Cowboys and Dak. It is what is.

      Especially after going 1-2 yesterday to the Ravens! Thanks for the kind words!

    I'm not convinced the miners keep him. I feel like Kyle will convince everyone he can run this team with anyone at QB

      100% agree here! I will be curious to see what they do. - Rob

      What are you guys talking about? Kyle will definitely keep Brock. Kyle hasn't had much success with quarterbacks since becoming HC of the 49ers. Jimmy G was good for really only the 2019 season and also probably the only season in his career that he was healthy. Other than that, Trey Lance, Nick Mullens, C.J. Beathard, Brian Hoyer, and others played terribly in Kyle's system. Brock Purdy clearly stands out and is better than all of them, including Matt Ryan from the Atlanta days.
      Did you even see how he played Sunday? Brock had 40+ yards rushing from scrambles, over 70% completions with 6 of the 9 incompletions drops from receivers, over 100 passer rating, and all without the avengers. He's also currently second in the league in passing yards. Not to mention breaking club records set by Young and Montana. Jed York has already said they plan to reset the market when playing Brock and it's really up to Brock if he accepts less. If you follow the 49ers, you already know Brock is the franchise quarterback they've been looking for. The Faithful love him. Brock is staying.

      Absolutely wild take, and about the opposite of reality. Kyle would probably be in the hot seat right now, if not for Purdy.

    • @SportsDeskCO
      @SportsDeskCO  3 дня назад

      But does Kyle think he plug and play any decent QB? Coaches have egos too!

      @@SportsDeskCO I think Kyle honestly thanks the football gods that Purdy fell into his lap. And no, this offense carried the team last year, and will need to do so even more this season, if the first 3 games are any indication. It was the opposite in years past, where the 49ers dominated on D and they needed a QB to just not screw up.
      The defense right now is struggling, and has been for a while (why they fired the D coord after last season). The team's strength is now its offense, and has been for a while - and this all revolves around Purdy (and ofc Shanahan). I really don't even want to think of what this team will look like if Purdy goes down this season.
      Look, PFF grades Purdy number 2 in the QB position after 3 games; w/e you might think of PFF, they are pretty damn thorough and unbiased. Their grades are at least relatively tethered to reality and not hype.

    Teams figured out Brock Purdy last year? Nonsense take by that guy. It was his first full year and he was one defensive play away from winning the Super Bowl. Purdy has improved progressively and has shown no signs of slowing down or being “figured out”. Just played the best game of his life

      Is Purdy worth the top end QB pay near $55 mil / season avg or more mid around $30 mil / season avg ?

  • @jeruon
    @jeruon 2 дня назад +1

    “Physically there is no upside”
    He has the fastest ten yard split of any QB. He’s 6”1”, 220lb and has legs like a running back. His ability to change direction on a dime and avoid pressure is unmatched. He has more air yards per attempt than anybody in the league. When he decides to throw the ball is out as fast as anyone

    • @SportsDeskCO
      @SportsDeskCO  2 дня назад

      So would you pay him the $55mil / year avg or $30mil / year avg? What is he worth in your opinion?
