The Jacked Vegan doing great work and he is showing nearly "secret" tips for Front Lever. If u really, really want the front lever check this tutorial.
Can we just take a moment and appreciate the work he puts in those videos, it's amazing to see such a small channel do so great and amazing in my opinion you deserve all the love and support in the world to achieve your dreams! Never give up and hold on to it cause you really help me nail my first handstand pushup and never forget your goals 🙏❤ piece out
Damn I said it before and I’ll say it again, comments like these keep me going and make me happy to put all these work into one video for you guys. Cheers man 💪🏾💪🏾
The ape index thing isn't discussed enough. I had one arm pull ups for multiple reps before I got my FL. My ape index is around -1/-1.5 inches on each arm. It made learning iron cross a good bit easier, but I had a hell of a time learning front lever. It does the same thing to planche and maltese. It's still very doable if you have a negative ape index, but all your straight arm skills excluding cross and back lever will be like 30% harder.
@@TheJackedVegan I have a +6 ape index and can do a one arm pull-up but am still stuck on true one leg frontlever holds. I climb so I don’t actively train front levers in a workout, mostly just here and there
Bro I thought you have like 200k+ subs because your videos are sooo good and give much better advice as those of other bigger youtubers Keep up that good work! Greetings from switzerland
@@TheJackedVegan sure :) i am planning to work on my weighted pullups for the next two months or so as the main pulling exercise, but i will keep front lever on a maintenance level.
I can do front Lever for a few seconds, but this video will help me hold it longer. I got the front Lever through only negatives. So I will now do more progressions. Thank you for the great video.
Great video. Very detailed descriptions and more than just the basic progressions. I’m going to incorporate a lot of these movements. Thank you very much
Yeah keep that lower back straight! It’s doable tucking one leg in that much if you have VERY good hamstring flexibility but not many people have that level of flexibility
Ape index is a bit more complicated If your arms are longer you may lean less but you need to generate more force since the bar is farther from the shoulder So it balances out (somewhat) Also why false grip does not make things more difficult
Amazing video man!! i am almost do the front lever even i have an apt, what i need to do in order to improve that i really think this is what restrictive me thanks a lot!
I would argue that the largest benefit in depressing your scapula is to increase the angle between your arms and your body. Depression in the shoulder blades and lengthening the traps and neck will make add an effect as if you had longer arms and a slightly heavier upper body. Definitely the number 1 technique advice you need to employ for most normal sized people if you plan on obtaining the front lever.
by using the false grip you shorten the lever makeing the front lever harder. Idealy you wanna have strong enough grip to train front lever without false grip p.s. depressing the scapula also helps lenghtening the arm lever
My wing span is around my height but my front lever sucks. Cant get past adv. tuck despite having 1.6x BW pull. Been doing that progression for more than a year straight and I even had a full FL 6 years ago when I was 10 kg lighter. Muscle memory and skill mastery where?
about your second point: With your first point you correctly argue that longer arms are better for the front lever. with your second point you argue that the false grip makes the front lever easier. I dont see that being the case, since the false grip effectively shortens your arms. Wouldnt holding the bar in your fingertips make the front lever easier since that effectively lengthens your arms?
I see what you’re saying but when performed the grip is important if you can’t get a good grip and stop your hands form rotating around the bar you won’t hold the front lever. So by using a false grip you get more friction between your hand and the bad and more points of contact despite the slightly smaller angle between arms and torso
Wow my arch nemesis appears again. I've started advance calisthenics about a year ago and here I learn that anterior pelvic tilt inhibits my skill training... I've tried so many fixes over the years and they haven't helped. I can do the splits, heavy hip thrusts, all sorts of raises, so I know my abs, hip flexor, glutes are not the issue. Since I've started FL training, I did discover I have relatively weak erector spinae/lower back. Could this be the cause of APT?
From my experience its either been tight quads/hip flexors or weak core. Even if you have a six pack you might have to work the core more while stretch and realising tension in the low back. However your specific situation may be different so best to go to a professional
I do 100% believe you don't need to worry about this, just note that if the front lever feels very difficult this may be a factor but many can do the front lever with a negative ape index so don't let it stop you!!
