Thumbs up to you guys for caring for this bit of "modern western history", Roy was "The Man" back when I was a kid in the 50's. It's sad to see this part of American history so forgotten in the current age.

The 67-acre original parcel has been subdivded. There is a golf course
next to the modified Spanish (red tile roof) 2 -tory house that Roy
and Dale built at 19838 Tomahawk Rd.

I wish you would take the time to research what ROY WANTED DONE WITH HIS MUSEUM AND RANCH. He said anytime it becomes too much to handle with very few visitors and not enough money to keep it going, SELL IT. He knew, that just like him, his fans were getting old, dying off, in nursing homes, or in bad health that would not permit them to make long distance trips to tour his museum. The next generation was not raised with Roy or westerns and could care less. His children, adopted and ones he fathered, were scattered wherever their jobs took them. They all lived normal everyday life, much like Roy did. Did you know that Dusty lived in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio for a while and worked in a grocery store after he married a girl from there? He later began singing with his band and that included his son also. Roy's homes were not fancy, not a mansion, not extravagant. He spent much of his money helping others including churches, orphanages and adopting and caring for children. His children followed his instructions and have honored him and Dale in many ways. You dishonor his memory by talking trash about his greatest accomplishments, his lovely children who are wonderful adults.

I was in California in the 90's and decided to visit the museum they had in Victorville. I got there about 10 min. from closing time, and the lady let me in for 50 cents. I quickly saw just about everything, including Trigger of course. the kids could have had their reasons to auction everything off. that's a lot of stuff be be responsible for. Now, years later, I want to go visit the graves, which a nice lady posted on you tube. I forget exactly how old I was (a little kid from Long Island) but of course I adored them, did not miss a show. My parents took me to Madison Square Garden for their rodeo which I remember as being BEYOND exciting. I can remember Roy and Dale riding around the arena edges to shake hands with all the kids who came down to meet them. and I can remember my father saying "why don't you go down there?" but I was too shy. now this part is wonderful: I was living in CA in the early 2000's and decided to move back East. so I driving my car across country east of LA. I know they had lived in the "high desert" but did not know where. as I was driving, all of a sudden tears came into my eyes. I drove a few more minutes, and went under a bridge of another highway, and there was a sign that said "Dale Evans Highway". now, I just turned 70, and although I am a Christian that knows the Lord, I developed a fear of death that has lasted for years. by chance I started watching a lot of Roy and Dale's videos on the internet, and my fear actually went away. because I'm totally looking forward to seeing Roy, Dale, and Trigger in heaven! now this fear was very major in my mind, so it's almost a miracle: my love for my childhood hero and heroine overcame the fear. the Bible is right: love does overcome fear. blessings...

@@barbsinbos my grandparents lived in Apple Vally when roy and dale's were there. Roy jr. said when you think upon their songs , watch their movies, and think fondly of them they are with you. They loved the Lord their influence is still a factor today. Thanks for your beautiful story.

And your damn a$$ is too lazy and with no common sense to figure out WHY==How old are you? How many still alive and in good enough health to visit the museum? How many in the generations after us even know who Roy was let alone visit his museum. They moved the contents to Branson, Mo where they thought it would make enough money to keep it open due to it being a tourist town. But Roy's fans are dead, in nursing homes, on walkers, in poor health and can not travel to see it. ROY'S INSTRUCTIONS WERE TO SELL IT ALL WHEN IT NO LONGER PAYS FOR ITSELF. HOW YOU MALIGN THE BEST ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF Roy AND DALE, THEIR CHILDREN. Do you know they are just ordinary, hard working adults leading a normal simple life in ordinary homes, no mansions, no maids, just living much like Roy and Dale lived when raising them. SHAME ON YOU!!!!

Type in Cheryl Rogers interviews here on RUclips and see many of them. Also, type in Dusty Rogers and see him and his son in some. The youngest he adopted, Dodie, live an ordinary life in Alabama and attend the Roy Rogers Festival in Roy's hometown of Portsmouth, Ohio. Her hubby works an ordinary job but has a band also that he plays and sings with at the festival. It is in August, I believe.
