@@eagle7fm I was in my mother's womb when the Green Eagles won the trophy in 1980. My mom told me that my dad jumped from the second floor to the ground floor when the third goal went in. I am now a professional soccer and volleyball ref in the US.

Felix Owolabi, Owo blow is a living legend. Owo is gifted, very skillful and robust. Nigerians do not celebrate their past heros. 1980 eagles remains the best of all nigerian national team winning team. I always look forward to Rangers v IICC in enugu then. Owo, odegbami, muda, zion obafemi etc against chukwu, okala, atuegbu, isima, okpala etc. Beautiful period those days. 1980 afcon triumph was changed football in Nigeria with a new democratic govt and several gifts to the team players

Mathematical is doing great always. Celebrated living legend too. I wonder why Nigeria refuse to use any of them in top level administration besides ogunjobi that became nff chairman and others that coached like chukwu, okala and Patrick Ikeji that rose to the top on civil service. Honestly, I thought buhari would have made Odegbami sports minister in 2015 with the supports of yorubas and I think odegbami supported them at the time too. Then this tinubu administration that suppose to tap odegbami wealth of knowledge and experience failed too, maybe its truth we don't use our best. I doff my hat for this guy's, all they did to lightening up the country then infact that group brought popularity to football in Nigeria and fame to Green Eagles. They made Nigeria proud late 70s till early 80s. Welcome and well-done Odiye, skillful defence marshal too.

There are a million reasons a foreign coach is a sine qua non to the success of the Super Eagles. I support Dr Owoblow on a foreign coach. I support Godwin Odiye on a foreign coach. I have also made my position known as to my preference for a foreign coach to Mathematical when we met at Ikoyi club . PABIEKUN

Happy birthday, Dr Felix Owolabi MON. But wow! Is this Godwin Odiye? Please let him wear his bandana again! Guy was ruthless but very intelligent. He covered for Christian Chukwu perfectly. Bar playing in the World Cup, that was the best Super Eagles generation, in my opinion. Rangers + IICC + the Lagos Boys was a terrific combo for Nigeria. I only wonder why Bendel Insurance did not have more players in that team (Okpodu, Ogboe, Agbonifo et al). I thank God for giving you guys a long life in such great health. I look forward to seeing others here in future.

@@Agbaraoluwayimika Yes it’s easy; if you don’t know, you don’t know. Accept it. This is a legend’s podcast, so the resources to do the basics should be there. Non-Yoruba speakers would want to know the meaning and humour of “Omo ale l’omo Yoruba ti o ni fe play fun Shooting Stars” and much more that came after.
