CONVERSATION WITH FELIX OWOLABI & GODWIN ODIYE

His name is Felix. The world knows him as ‘Owoblow’. He was a left-football player of a different breed. He either played like a tornado blowing away anything on his path to an opposing goal, or like a one-man army almost single-handedly destroying the attack of an opposing team. Either way, he left his mark! Today, Dr. Felix ‘Owoblow’ Owolabi, MON, Olympian, former Green Eagles player, and Sho...

Augustine Eguavoen - a pleasant dilemma for NFF
On a 2nd bite at the cherry, I want to leave this on tbe foreign coach debate. For Mathematical, you don't see tbe differences between a Nigerian who played at all levels and who went to attain coaching certificate from a foreign coach. It's like asking the differences between a Toyota corolla and a Mercedes Benz. Both are cars but the differences are obvious and far reaching. The icons on the show today have confirmed my position. Nigeria still need a foreign coach to excel. Thanks. PABIEKUN
This is a well thought out summation on the issue. Thank you for this comprehensive opinion of yours
There are a million reasons a foreign coach is a sine qua non to the success of the Super Eagles. I support Dr Owoblow on a foreign coach. I support Godwin Odiye on a foreign coach. I have also made my position known as to my preference for a foreign coach to Mathematical when we met at Ikoyi club . PABIEKUN
Thank you for your summation The mathematical will surely receive your comment
Dem for translate Owo Blow’s Yoruba quotes in post-production naw. His fans are nationwide not just Yoruba people.
Ehn en Na so e easy abi
@@Agbaraoluwayimika Yes it’s easy; if you don’t know, you don’t know. Accept it. This is a legend’s podcast, so the resources to do the basics should be there. Non-Yoruba speakers would want to know the meaning and humour of “Omo ale l’omo Yoruba ti o ni fe play fun Shooting Stars” and much more that came after.
Your observations are duly noted
@@eagle7fm😊 Thank you, Sir. I knew you would understand. I have always known you to be a legend for ALL Nigerians. And by the way, I’m Yoruba too, but try to see things from all ‘angles’ of Nigeria.
Felix Owolabi, Owo blow is a living legend. Owo is gifted, very skillful and robust. Nigerians do not celebrate their past heros. 1980 eagles remains the best of all nigerian national team winning team. I always look forward to Rangers v IICC in enugu then. Owo, odegbami, muda, zion obafemi etc against chukwu, okala, atuegbu, isima, okpala etc. Beautiful period those days. 1980 afcon triumph was changed football in Nigeria with a new democratic govt and several gifts to the team players
Wishing you a joyful Happy 70th birthday the living legend, Felix "Owo blow" Owolabi. More healthy rewarding years ahead. This guy has PhD ooo after his soccer years. Kudos
Mathematical is doing great always. Celebrated living legend too. I wonder why Nigeria refuse to use any of them in top level administration besides ogunjobi that became nff chairman and others that coached like chukwu, okala and Patrick Ikeji that rose to the top on civil service. Honestly, I thought buhari would have made Odegbami sports minister in 2015 with the supports of yorubas and I think odegbami supported them at the time too. Then this tinubu administration that suppose to tap odegbami wealth of knowledge and experience failed too, maybe its truth we don't use our best. I doff my hat for this guy's, all they did to lightening up the country then infact that group brought popularity to football in Nigeria and fame to Green Eagles. They made Nigeria proud late 70s till early 80s. Welcome and well-done Odiye, skillful defence marshal too.
Thank you
Odiye score Nigeria,,,,, Thank you sirs for serving us and the good memories
It was our pleasure to bring you this conversation.
@@eagle7fm I was in my mother's womb when the Green Eagles won the trophy in 1980. My mom told me that my dad jumped from the second floor to the ground floor when the third goal went in. I am now a professional soccer and volleyball ref in the US.
owo blow, owo blow, owo blow,Happy birthday, Among those who won the first African nations cup for Nigeria Nigeria, still remember where I was as fresher in secondary school, when that feat was achieved, thanks Dr owolabi felix, and may God continue to shine light in your life, your generation of football players were my heroes, okala, chukwu, odegbami, Atuegbu, muda lawal, Adiele, sylvanus okpala, Amaesiamaka, Tunde Bamidele, kadiri ikhana, shefui Mohammed,,ifeanyi onyedika, okey isima, best ogedengbe, effiong moses, Henry Nwosu, the youngest among the team, Eyo Martins, and others, your service to the nation was a cause bigger than yourselves, thanks,
Woow, such a sharp memory there. We are happy that you enjoyed the conversation.| Stay tuned for more of this
Great celebration to the latest Nigeria Sports Legend septugenerian, by Eagle7 FM and great BigSeg. Many happy returns to Felix Owolabi Akinloye Ph.D MON a.k.a Owoblow and wish you God's continued bountiful blessings, in the years ahead. Congratulations 🎉& toast-toast.
Thank you for the birthday wishes
CONGRATULATIONS TO OWOH BLOW.
Thank you for the birthday wishes
HBD Dr Felix Owolabi "Owo Blow" Hearty Congratulations on this milestone, nay your years ahead be the very best years of life ❤🎉
Amen
Congratulations to uncle Felix.
Thank you
Happy birthday, Dr Felix Owolabi MON. But wow! Is this Godwin Odiye? Please let him wear his bandana again! Guy was ruthless but very intelligent. He covered for Christian Chukwu perfectly. Bar playing in the World Cup, that was the best Super Eagles generation, in my opinion. Rangers + IICC + the Lagos Boys was a terrific combo for Nigeria. I only wonder why Bendel Insurance did not have more players in that team (Okpodu, Ogboe, Agbonifo et al). I thank God for giving you guys a long life in such great health. I look forward to seeing others here in future.
Your request duly noted and you will definitely see more. For the main time, kindly go through our previous conversations to watch some of the interesting interviews we had. You will definitely love it.
Owo Blow! remember fans ued to sing "Owolabi abi o suni" to ginger him to mesmerise opposing players! And the dependable last man in defence, Godwin Odiye! Big Seg, thanks for relieving good old memories.
We are happy that you enjoyed the conversation
❤
Onafemi Awolowo Interview with media.
Rest in peace to general Lagbaja
Well done AVM, I am so looking forward to the African Military Games Abuja.
Real estate is only one business that whatever the situation,it is a reliable business. It is difficult to loose.
That's very true
Great conversation with aare himself I hope everyone will take advantage of this opportunity
We hope everyone will take advantage
I always enjoy your podcast. Thanks for bringing to the fore this golden memory and our glorious days of yore! Kudos Big Seg for this report and a big thank you to Mr Allen Onyeama for his unparalleled generosity to humanity.
I have goose pimples as I listen to you 😂
Woow This is enlightening
This is indeed a masterclass
Thank you
Thank so much sir we really appreciate you and baba awolowo made Yoruba race proud and educated.
I can't agree less
Very true. Obafemi Awolowo was a great man indeed
CAF needs to look into this
Woow This is coming from a former African best footballer, Segun Odegbami
God bless Baba Akintoye for the Yoruba race
Amen oo
Amen
Your leader not Yoruba leader, foolish man akintole the great parasite the all time cameleon your doom is near fake Awolowo news from the mouth of an evil and self centered specimen 😡
Mr interviewer you are very black and your face cap is also black and studio lighting is very poor so what’s the point of d video it should be radio
❤🎉 it's a good program kudos to you Sir.
I wonder who owned this platform and why it's that Chief Segun Odegbami was avoiding Baba not to talk about separation of the yoruba from Nigeria. When Segun, whether you like it or not, you are the product of the yoruba race, we are very, very proud of you.l am 65 years old now by the grace of God, that we tell you what l meant. There's nothing wrong with voicing out in a way to deliver your people out of this system that's not working. You are a politician anyway, but I believe that you should be part of the solution.Your voice will be very, very merciful for the Yoruba peoples
Hmm...
Kindly note that there was a context to the conversation
Upon Yoruba Nation mandate I stand. Nigeria is a scam.
An interesting conversation with Prof Akintoye, wonder why pa Awolowo's history is not taught in our schools.
History is should be an integral part of the education system
...this is nice. More, please.
Watchout for our weekly podcast with Mathematical 7 for more
Nice one mathematical
We should thank God for keeping these two great footballers for us to see together like this. Segun Odegbami was one of the best footballers in the world. I also watched that game against IICC in Calabar and I hope the world will also remember the midfield maestro, Isong Isang, some day. I think Etim's problem was the fact that, unlike most top African footballers, he came from an upper class family and therefore, did not really need football to survive. Someone should have been assigned to counsel and manage him from those early days in Methodist Boys High School.
Well, everyone learn as they grow and he admitted some of his faults in the conversation.
This Super Eagles team needs an authentic playmaker and a proper Centre Forward. Think of it: In 1972, it was Ilerika and Oyarekhua. 1980, Christian Chukwu and Odegbami; and in 1994, Finidi and Yekini. Which telepathic pair do we have today?
...erm...wait...Chairman Christian Chukwu was a playmaker? How?!?
Okocha was the playmaker for 94 set
@@co6335 ...in 1980 we had Muda Lawal as our attacking playmaker (or Henry Nwosu). Christian Chukwu was a rock-solid defender - definitely not a playmaker.
@@illitraitHow much will you pay me if I explain it to you
@@illitraitthere may be a context he was talking from though
Thank you so much Sir for always standing out for transparency. I'm not a RUclipsr yet, but Sir, I follow all your post on social media, My name is Ijomah Kizitto (KIZZY-K) I'm a presenter with Voice of the People TV/FM, Lagos. I also once had you On-Air (Radio) couple of months back to discuss about our Nigeria Football Federation. Ethnic Balancing is key for transparency sake. I also smell crisis if the needed people that needs to intervene on this critical issue don't do the needful (No disrespect to the office if the NFF) Thank you once again Sir. Best Regards, Kizzy-K.
Mathematical & Maradona, a very insightful discuss on Nigeria Football! ❤
The enlightenment starts with you and I. We need to unlearn so many things to relearn. All thanks to Babayooba and ASH group for the eyes opening. Thank you Prof, for adding to my knowledge.
