Hi Laura! Cute finishes! Every time you say Fish and Ships my mind always goes to fish and chips....lol. Woooooo that fabric is so pretty! Happy Stitching!
You have been busy, Laura! Beautiful work and thank you for sharing your thought process and approach to scrapbooking your pieces!
The Celtic Dragon is beautiful and yes, please keep stitching it!
Beautiful stitching and WIPs! I love the events and using my journal to track. So fun! 😊 your fabrics are all stunning! You have a gift!
always a nice visit ty so much for this vid and all the others you're a joy and we love you so much! Yes, keep on stitchin' on the dragon~
Wow this was a jam packed episode! You got so much done and met so many goals! 2025 has truly been blessed for your stitching so far (maybe because you did that blessings sampler ha). Great job Laura :). Your dragon looks amazing! I say go for the extra part!
I think you should keep stitching on the 2x2 dragon - the moon will look amazing!! Got all my ispy prompts completed for January and looking forward to February!
I love the LadyBug ATC....so simple yet striking! Hoping you are staying warm and dry. Another 6 weeks of winter for us all according to Phil in PA....Still waiting on my Onyx Storm - hopefully sometime this week!!!
That was a productive week. Congratulations on finishing the Celtic dragon, it really looks amazing. And yes, please! For the sake of my mild OCD for finishing things, do the moon! :D And I also hope you will be able to finish the monthly flower pieces this year - 5 done already, right? (I'm cheering on you finishing things because I am the slowest stitcher ever, so I need to get finishing dopamine through someone else :D ). Looking forward to the next full coverages you will bring in February. Happy stitching :)
Such a clever way to keep your finished pieces. They are protected and yet versatile!
Thank you 😊
Gorgeous finishes Laura. I really am considering scrapbooking some of my pieces. Great to see you. ❤
Your pieces would be gorgeous. You have such talent with paper crafting!
Love your lady bug story! And your scraped book Mary Poppins is beautiful. Brings back memories of seeing Mary Poppins on the big screen at Radio City Music Hall❤as a child!
Huge yes to adding the moon to the dragon! It looks amazing! Great catching up with you😊
You know about scrapbooking your stitches, I love it and I might do some small ones. But, I know this sound weird but when I die, I know a scrapbook will just get tossed at least if it's framed, it would go to goodwill, and there's a chance someone saving the stitches
We were never really know what will happen to them. I say do what feels right for you.
Don’t worry about taking time to learn a lesson Laura….these are the lessons that stick with us while the lessons quickly learned can often be quickly gone. I worked on Aurora by Pigeon Coop Designs while I watched today. Have a great weekend. 🦉🧵🪡❄️🌨️⛄️
Lots of progress! Love your finishes! One of my goals this year is to scrapbook some finishes. I have the supplies since I used to scrapbook. The first Long Dog you mentioned is Seventh Wave. I'm starting that as a start along with some friends on July 1st. Though we are making it any Long Dog Sal for my birthday month. I saw the other one you were talking about but can't remember the name. I'd like to do that one someday also. I think you should finish the dragon. Take care.
If I can finish FIsh n Ships by the end of June, maybe I'll join you with the other one. And Long Dog just posted one on Instagram today that had castles and fun stuff and now I'm tempted by that too!
Congratulations on finishing stitching the dragon before the year of the snake. I think you should stitch the moon
Sgaeyl looks so good!! I vote a huge yes to adding the moon around her.
Wow your needles were moving this week. Love ❤ your Dragon. I think with or without the boarder is still amazing
Congrats to finishing the dragon (you slay). Awesome way to end the week thanks.
Great to see you tonight Laura. You have been busy making great progress on all your projects. Mary Poppins looks great.
I started Dragon Heart by Anne Stokes. The border was perfect stitching during our prolonged power cut so I got that done quickly. Then I started on one of the dragons. I have never stitched on such a confetti piece. I'm loving the result but I need full concentration so can't have any distractions. My husband was here today & couldn't figure out why I was muttering strange, to him, words like question mark, diamond, light R, dark R, arrow etc etc. It's the only way I can keep myself correct. I stitch in hand from paper patterns.
I don't do challenges as I don't have enough projects on the go but I keep a journal of what I've done everyday. I did it last year as well & really enjoyed being able to look back & see what I stitched, what I knit/ crocheted, what I read & what series I watched on TV.
Take care, hope you have a good week. Best wishes from 🇮🇪
It really is fun to see what you've worked on from year to year. I like how you added books and tv shows as well.
Hello from Kokomo Indiana! I am a new suscriber and I found you when someone suggested you as I was looking for different finishing ideas. I totally love the scrapbook idea ( I used to scrapbook, but gave everything to my daughter when we cross country moved 2 years ago😅) I purchased a scrapbook last week and plan to start with 10 stitches from the 80’s and 90’s. Stitching was my sanity while raising 4 kids! These pieces hold meaning and beauty for me, but don’t fit with my decorating style, now 40+ years later. Thank you for that play list! Can you tell me what the I Spy game is and how to join? I love games and just completed my Bringo. Also, I think I missed the designer name of Mary Poppins. Your finish is fantastic and I think the black paper was the best choice. Have a sweet week!
Kim
So nice to have your here! :) Thank you so much for watching.
I am happy to hear you are giving the scrapbooking finish a try. I absolutely love it!
I Spy is a challenge that I run. If you are on Facebook, you can find the info in the events section on my facebook page, Stitching By the Shore. But if you are not, no worries. If you go to the community tab on my channel, I always list the prompts and info there so everyone has a chance to participate.
The designer of Mary Poppins is Little Stitcher on Etsy.
I don't do papercraft, but I saw those paper pads a few months ago. They seemed like a good deal and quality even at the "full price." Time to go back to Michael's...
The paper is actually quite thick and good qualtiy.
Laura, I love the look of your winter cardinals! It’s wonderful seeing Mary Poppins behind you. If you are thinking about a companion piece to Fish and Ships, maybe you can reverse the colors. White fabric with the blue floss, color taken from your current fabric? Just a thought. Your dragon looks good but I really think the next section will make it a great piece and it will look more “finished”. My thoughts are very scattered right now because I am in recovery from 2 bad migraines and they slow my brain but thanks for a nice show and inspiration.
Oh, I am so sorry to hear about the migraines. My mom would get them awfully and it's such a painful thing. Thank you for your thoughts about my projects.
SCRAPBOOKING????!!! OMGoodness! I NEVER thought of scrapbooking a cross stitch piece. Wow! That's an amazing idea. Practical for the many smaller pieces that you'll have "prepped" to display, but safely put away "ready to go' . Was this YOUR original idea? Wow!
I've watched your feed off and on and heard you talk about scrapbooking, but I imagined it was the scrapbooking that I do....regular pics and stuff. I'm impressed!
THANK YOU for showing your Mary Poppins.
I have stayed on your site before, I believe, that I am 72yo and stitch in hand with paper patterns on Aida-- old school. But in ally years I have never kept a piece for myself...never. I stitch a piece with a person in mind and once finished, I give it away to them. But I found 3 pieces that I want for myself....and I finally kitted up MY Castle. A 14ct piece that I hope to complete this year, a long with the many other pieces I'm doing for friends and family. Wish me luck!
Good luck with the stitches! That's so generous with your time and talent, always stitching for others.
Before I started scrapbooking my pieces, there were others who were doing smalls in junk journal so of ways. I had never really seen larger pieces being done the way I do them. Having said that, I'm sure someone thought it up before me. I've been around the crafting world long enough to know that most things have already been thought of!
Definitely do the moon on the dragon. Its going to look amazing.
Oh how funny. I just bought that lady bug. I plan to make it up very soon.
Well I didn’t know about my Michael’s Sr discount 😂😂. I really like your dragon by 2x2 as is. With that fabric it just pops!
I like the dragon as is. But the moon and boarder is nice too. Either way, it’s beautiful!
Thank you for the video!!
I say keep your dragon a WIP and do the whole thing! That’s such awesome fabric so the more you use the better, right?
Ich liebe deine Videos und dein Fortschritt ist immer so enorm. Vielen Dank dafür 🥰 Liebe Grüße Kathrin
Your dragon is beautiful! I really need to work on mine. I'm hosting a Valentine SAL in February. It's #lovegreatandsmallsal. There's 2 start dates. Feb1 and Feb 14. Love comes in all shapes and sizes, so it's a wip or new start that reminds you of love. A big one on the 1st (I'll be working on mine every Saturday) and/or a small one the 14th. My small will be a SAF. The majority of my plans are focused on Valentine's Day. So lots of pink and hearts. I might also start a snake project but I haven't decided which one.
Stitching pink and hearts is the perfect way to spend February!
Lovely stitching!
Hi Laura, great progress in all and you go for it for the snake 🐍. Question : interfacing for cross stitch. 123 has some on sale this week is there one you would recommend.
I do have to point out that I do not sew and don’t know the proper uses of the specific interfacing types. I don’t remember how but I stumbled upon Pellon 950F, used that, liked the result and just use that one.
And I, too, am Scorpio...at least my basic sign is.
I would like to participate in the trading card but I don’t know where to send them to
If you send me an email to the gmail address below, I would be happy to give you that info 😊
Hi Laura, please can you let me know when wip warriors opens again, as somehow I keep missing it when you tell us. Thanks
Sure 😁 In the past, they open up mid November-ish and stay open for about 6 weeks. I usually do my best to mention once they tell us it’s open again.
@stitchingbytheshore epic thanks
Love your channel! What is the name of your Mary Poppins pattern? It’s lovely!
Thank you 😊 It’s from The Little Stitcher on Etsy and is just called Mary Poppins.
