    are these kind of snaps supposed to give a strong joint? when I put them and I pull the to pieces of leather apart they get separeted with little force. Thank you

      I do not know what brand of rivets you use, but I use solid brass Jiffy rivets and if you set them right they are extremely difficult to tear apart, almost tears the leather. If you want an extremely strong rivet but do not want the hard to set copper and burr type rivet you can use tubular rivets that look like a regular rivet, but they are not coming apart without drilling them, but you need to buy a peening tool to spread the back of the rivet for $15. You can buy them at the Buckle Guy.

    Will the 10mm diameter rivet setter be good enough for a smaller diameter rivets?

    • @MountainFisher

      To a degree, but you risk leaving a ring pressed into your leather around your rivet.

    I need a post on a rivet to be at least 15mm long. Do u sell them? Let me know I'm interested... Give me contact info

    • @MountainFisher
      @MountainFisher 3 года назад

      Mostly only the solid copper or brass rivet and burr rivets come that long, plus you need a setting tool to go with them. They are the strongest rivets you can buy and can be as long as an inch, but they are out of place for many non-rustic look projects. The Buckle Guy of this video sells regular double cap rivets with 15 mm post.
