  • Hey peoples. So this is one of many scenarios of test that I will be conducting with these two cameras. Something to keep in mind is these cameras aren't meant to be lowlight beast. Also think about how much recording you will be doing in such low light conditions and what type of content are you trying to create where lowlight performance is so important.
These cameras aren't marketed as lowlight powerhouses so don't expect them to be. Sure they have some hardware and software that could make recording in low light somewhat pleasurable for your viewers, but the content is more important then the lowlight performance when it comes to these guys.
Remember......unless your channel is purely about 'visual quality's, your viewers WILL NOT be pixel watching your videos if you aren't bringing it to their attention!
Thanks for watching and stick around the next few days for the update on which cameras were used in this video.
The videos were uploaded at max resolution provided by the insta360 app which was 4k 24fps . Bit rates varied from 50-150

This would hands down be the best comparison video for low light if you actually said what the cameras were at any point… you ever confirm which are which?

@@Jonasegway Legend, thanks for the quick reply. Now you got those details pinned too, you got the best video for anyone wanting to shoot low light and working out which way to put their cash. It's great to be asked questions to make you think about what you're *actually* planning to do. Cheers!

Cam B seems to be the X4 and Cam A is the 1" 360 1RS. Really comes down to what you prefer and cost.

Which do you prefer? See most of my media watching is on my phone. I never look to increase the resolution so I think my preference in general is to at least be able to see what's going on. A little video grain doesn't even bother me. I dont watch anything on RUclips with a pixel watch mentality. I just try to enjoy what I am watching. If I am paying for it (like a movie), then I want the quality to be A1.
I personally enjoy the clear beautiful picture of the 1". (I'm just sad the lens on my 1" is busted out) I probably wouldn't have gotten the X4 if It didn't cost an arm and a leg to replace that lens module of the 1".
      But which do you prefer?

@@Jonasegway I think they are both great to be honest but I lean to the 1" because it is what I have lol I think the 1" looks less processed. When I edit low light footage I go for the X4 look. I like it to be darker with less noise and grain but the subject looking clear. Like in your video I would have lowered the ISO on the 1" to more match the look of the X4. If I was buying my first 360 camera today I would get the X4 hands down because it is good all around with the extra features like memode the 1" doesn't have. Not to mention smaller lenses are less likely to be damaged than the monster lenses on the 1"

Cam A was brighter. However Cam B seemed to have better audio. I'm big on that. If I had the 360x4 I'd only use it during the day. If you don't have proper lighting, the creativity would be lost.

You said something very important, a lot of people are pixel watching on low light footage and most of their videos will never be filmed in low light. Not because the camera cannot record very well in low light but because people just typically don't record a lot in low light conditions. And the other gentleman commenting on my video said he would buy the X4 if he only could buy one 360 camera and I agree with him. I think for most people, that is the camera to buy. For the price first the versatility of the camera itself, you really cannot beat that
