Today , I become the Hero Today I become Paragraph Man Movie:A Dogs Tale (True Story) Ronnie says to his class that his personal hero is his grandfather Parker Wilson's dog Hachi, whose story he starts narrating. Parker Wilson, a professor who commutes to Providence, Rhode Island, finds a dog lost on the railway station in Bedridge and temporarily takes it home. The dog remains unclaimed but grows close to Parker, who takes it everywhere with him. Parker's Japanese friend Ken says the dog is a breed called Akita and the character on its collar tag is "Hachi" ("Eight" in Japanese). Parker thus names the dog "Hachi" as it is a lucky number. Parker's wife Cate Wilson eventually warms to Hachi but he sleeps outside in his own shed. Parker tries in vain to train Hachi in normal dog things like fetching a ball. However, Ken explains that Akita dogs cannot be trained; if Hachi fetches the ball, it will be for a special reason. Later, Parker's daughter Andy gets married to Michael, and Hachi is in the family marriage photograph. Soon after the marriage, Andy announces that she is pregnant. Years later, a grown-up Hachi digs under the fence and follows Parker to the station. He refuses to go home, and Parker misses the train. He hands him over to Cate and catches the next train. At 5:00 pm, he returns from the train and is surprised to find Hachi waiting for him at the station. He is even more surprised to learn that he came to the station all by himself. A daily routine begins: the two walk to the station, Parker leaves from the train, Hachi goes home, and returns at 5:00pm to receive Parker. However, one morning, Hachi behaves strangely at home and then follows Parker to the railway station with the ball. Parker throws the ball toward him, and much to his delight, Hachi fetches it for the first time. They play for a while, and Parker eventually puts the ball in his pocket and begins to leave. Hachi barks and watches Parker's train leaving. Hours later, while still holding the ball, Parker suffers a fatal stroke in his classroom and collapses; Hachi waits for him at the railway station. At 9:30pm, Michael comes to the railway station and takes Hachi home. From his shed, Hachi watches the family mourning Parker. The next morning, Parker's family members and friends gather for his funeral while Hachi goes to the station to wait. Soon, Cate sells the house and moves away, and Hachi goes to live with Andy and Michael and their infant son Ronnie. However, Hachi follows the train tracks to Bedridge. Andy and Michael find him and take him back to their house. Realizing that Hachi is pining for Parker, Andy opens the gate for him. Hachi licks her hand and runs back to the Bedridge station. Hachi waits at the station every day, while hot-dog seller Jasjeet and the other passers-by feed him. Soon, a reporter writes a story about Hachi, and people start sending him money and cards. Ken reads Hachi's news, travels to Bedridge and speaks to Hachi in Japanese: he too misses his best friend. On Parker's tenth death anniversary, Cate arrives in town to visit his grave, where Ken is present, too. She is moved to see an elderly Hachi still waiting at the station for his master. Later, Cate tells 10-year-old Ronnie the story of Hachi, who slowly settles in place. Hachi later passes away at his place in the station, while still waiting for Parker who finally comes to seek him in death and they finally reunite at last in the afterlife. In the present, Ronnie says that his grandfather and Hachi taught him the meaning of "loyalty", which means "you should never forget anyone you have loved". He concludes that Hachi will forever be his personal hero and the class applauds. From the school bus, Ronnie is met by Michael and a tiny new puppy who is also named Hachi. Ronnie and the puppy travel through the same tracks Hachi traveled years ago.
I sobbed for days after watching this movie. I can never watch it again, but it shows the unconditional love and devotion that pets have toward their “people”.
I always thought Geer was a wonderful actor. But really, I never found him attractive. I think his talent overshadows that for me. He just never had seemed to be worried about his looks. He was what he was. Whereas an actor such as Brad Pitt, who I also think is a good actor, seems, in my opinion, very concerned about his looks.
I was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer last week. I have 11 kitty cats. I swear, since the diagnosis, they are watching me in shifts. I have one, Angel, who never comes in my room…..she’s been staying on the pillow behind my head for hours at a time. She’ll leave and it’s like she called in another kitty to take her place. I seriously feel like they’re looking after me. It’s actually bringing me some comfort at this difficult time.
I think Richard Gere is one of the most underrated actors of all time. His name don't pop up like as much as the other top actors. But he is such a talent. But pretty woman is still one of my favorite movies. He and Julia Roberts were great together.

It’s not so much Hollyweird as it is China’s meddling. China is a major funder of films and they demand their political narratives not be challenged. They blackballed him because of his support for a free and independent Tibet after China invaded. But alas, Tibetans aren’t white so of course we don’t send all of our money, weapons and equipment to ensure their freedoms as we are doing for Ukraine.
My dog knew when I was having a Heart Attack, although I wasn't aware of IT myself. I was lying in NY bed, Feeling really weird and panicky. He ran to and fro from bed to garden gate, barking, and when my husband returned, he ran to and fro between him and bed, at one point grabbing his sleeve, dragging him towards me. He certainly alerted my husband who took one look at ne snd called 999. He certainly daved my life. NEVER ignore IT when your dog tries to alert you.
After I saw the film I was so moved that I decided to have a dog too ‼️his name is Lucky a little baby rescued from Romania and brought to Germany after difficult situations🙋 he is just as loyal and sweet as Hachi, we are happy to have saved him, he makes us happy ‼️👍😂🥰👻🙏✌️🤷💕🙋

Ok the bond between man and dog is a crazy thing. King my dog named after God saved my life twice. I had two heartattacks and no symptoms at all. King knew both times and saved my life twice. He is my life, all 258lbs of him. King is now battling terminal cancer. They said he would be gone 6 months ago. God has a plan he is still going strong and hasn’t missed a beat. Love and Faith can move mountains. Always believe, never give up. All our pets will be waiting for us in the afterlife. 🙏🏻❤️

There is also a statue in Edinburgh, Scotland, of a dog known as Blackfriars Bobby. It too showed extreme loyalty to his former owner.

Such a great true story. Heartbreaking 💔
Ooohhhh memories of this movie are flooding my heart and mind. There was so much love and then so much heartache. I adore this movie and Mr Gear and Hachi
Richard Gere is the man. Hollywood slept on his talent. He's phenomenal.
Based on true event. 😢😢😢
This movie had me bawliing,Haachi was so faithful
It’s not so much Hollyweird as it is China’s meddling. China is a major funder of films and they demand their political narratives not be challenged. They blackballed him because of his support for a free and independent Tibet after China invaded. But alas, Tibetans aren’t white so of course we don’t send all of our money, weapons and equipment to ensure their freedoms as we are doing for Ukraine.
That might have something to do with gerbils. Lol. Just sayin
Yeah true, he is a magician of acting and a good persom which most importantly!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ very beautiful story 👏👏👏👏

@@rogerlake7802I think the name was Hachi, a Dog’s Tale. It was on Netflix but that was a few years ago.
Simply amazing...dogs are truly man's best friend. Who says they can't talk and don't have emotion. AMEN

It made me cry for sure
After I saw the film I was so moved that I decided to have a dog too ‼️his name is Lucky a little baby rescued from Romania and brought to Germany after difficult situations🙋
he is just as loyal and sweet as Hachi, we are happy to have saved him, he makes us happy ‼️👍😂🥰👻🙏✌️🤷💕🙋
Your dog is your most loyal friend ever I got my gdad dog as I found my gdad dead and I didn't have the heart to put dog in the dog home so i made promise to my gdad and I kept the dog ten yrs on still going strong but his back legs are starting to go he 14 at moment

Movie??
Ok the bond between man and dog is a crazy thing. King my dog named after God saved my life twice. I had two heartattacks and no symptoms at all. King knew both times and saved my life twice. He is my life, all 258lbs of him. King is now battling terminal cancer. They said he would be gone 6 months ago. God has a plan he is still going strong and hasn’t missed a beat. Love and Faith can move mountains. Always believe, never give up. All our pets will be waiting for us in the afterlife. 🙏🏻❤️
Great things King is doing. I wish both of you good health
Take a look at Dr Judy Morgan on cancer diet in her book and website (blog) and also Dr Kendra Pope - she does consults but believe she specialises in dogs with cancers.
You are 100% right. Our companions are waiting for us in the afterlife.
@@johnl.8616I really hope so. I’ve had dog for the past 30 years some of them lived til they were 19yrs older. Unfortunately some only for ten those were the ones that got cancer. All my dogs were rescues I wouldn’t trade any of my time with them I miss everyone of them. I pray that they will be waiting for me.
Amen to that! Always believe, faith moving mountains. Something I need to adhere to. Blessed be your king!
A touching story
We all can learn a lesson from Hachi
Love and loyalty goes hand in hand ♥️♥️♥️
