    Bro, awesome tutorial! Thanks for doing this one, any other line to leader options that are reliable outside the knot you suggested)

    • @satellitefishing
      @satellitefishing  7 месяцев назад

      FG knot is by far the best for tying anything over 60 pound mono to braid. 60 and under you can get away with a double uni knot but it’s bulkier and a little weaker compared to FG.

    How far should I cast? feel like even with my 12 foot rod, i still can’t cast over the second sand bar😢do I have to get a kayak?

    • @satellitefishing
      @satellitefishing  6 месяцев назад +1

      Try walking into the water before you cast to get extra distance. Also you can get extra casting distance by shortening the amount of distance between your bait and hook in your rig. And finally just practice. I don’t know where you live so I can’t speak for a specific distance number, however there are sharks very close to shore in most places.

      @@satellitefishing btw, does tide matters in terms of catching sharks? Say major tide, high tide?

    • @satellitefishing
      @satellitefishing  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@mikeshen7498 I think time of day makes a bigger difference. I’ve had best luck in the morning or just before sunset. I seem to get the least bites after dark. As far as tide, I’d just try to get out there and fish all the tides. In my experience the sharks don’t seem to care too much and will eat at any time/tide tho. One other tip (I can’t remeber if I even said in the video) but fresh bait is by far the best. Especially if you can use small fish you just caught off the beach as bait.

    It’s gonna be quite amount of info ima tell you but bc Ima try to catch my first shark you think buying the Walmart penn pursuit 8000 combo with 80ib braid spooled 375yds with a 10-11ft rod is good or what else would I need?

    • @satellitefishing
      @satellitefishing  13 дней назад

      On an 8000 I’d probably run 65lb braid. 80 will work but you will have slightly less line to fight the shark. Choice is yours. Although definitely get a decently reputable brand of braid. (Powerpro, diamond, spider wire etc.). Some cheap braids are super thick and this will hurt the total yard capacity.
      I’m pretty sure the 8000’ combos come with a 10ft rod. 10 ft isn’t ideal but it will work. I’d just get the combo and potentially upgrade the rod down the road if you are having casting problems.
      Lastly, if you can, I’d adivse trying to get the fierce 8000 combo. It’s a lil more expensive but more durable in the long run.

    • @OfficialFaZelava
      @OfficialFaZelava 13 дней назад

      @ so you recommend me to buy a bit more expensive combo if I want it to last long and so as braid… bc tbh I never fighted a shark before and I’m just a beginner do you think it’s a bad idea going straight for the sharks? And if you have any more info that you could recommend me bc I’m planning to catch my very first shark and uploading it on RUclips (@FaZeFishingLava) and the biggest fish I ever caught was a 25in red drum and idk I have enough strength to catch one lmao

    • @satellitefishing
      @satellitefishing  13 дней назад

      Yes. The pursuit will work, but the fierce cost just a little bit more but is more durable and has more metal parts (opposed to plastic). Better braid is less likely to have defects and weak points. As far as catching the sharks, I say just go for it, but start with small baits. Watch some videos on how to properly set your reels drag, and land sharks on the beach .

      @@wspgav that spinning reel should be ok for 4-6ft sharks. Mines a 6/0 senator spooled with 400yds of 60lb mono. I don’t do any maintenance on it. Just rinse it. It works good for 6-7ft but if you want bigger sharks I’d go with a 9/0 senator

      That’s a great reel. As for rods, In my experience most 10-12ft heavy rods should work good. I like the ugly stik, and Penn prevail surf rods. I used to have one of the 12ft Ande tournament surf rods, but it broke fighting a shark. Those are a little cheaper than the uglystiks and prevail

      Ah I didn’t know you didn’t need to cast at all. Yeah, the 9ft version of those surf rods I listed will be way to light for shark fishing.
      What’s your budget? I know tsunami makes an XH 8’ Carbon Shield rod. Even that, I just don’t now if a 8500 sized reel would really fit. My brother has one and it pairs well with his 6500 slammmer.
