I''m so honored to know that one member of my favorite band is listening to brazilian music. This is so great. Thank you, Peter Buck to sharing our artists to the world.
It's so awesome to see Chicano Batman blowing up. I'm the same way in that I saw their name and thought "Okay, one of the best band names ever" listened to "Black Lipstick" and was immediately hooked. There's no other band like them around right now and their musicianship and passion is unmatched!
This is just brilliant. Two of the most talent people on the music history (Corin and Peter) reunited with some awesome instrumentists (Scott and Kurt, of course) still making a relevant noise in this days. And I can't be more happy to see what they're listen/looking, specially when comes of my country. We love you too here. Cheers from Brazil!
I once ran into Peter Buck at a record store in Ann Arbor before REM played there on the Monster tour. He bought box sets from Van Morrison and John Coltrane.
You there, on the right. You're not the only person on the planet that loves the Lauryn Hill unplugged album. It's genius and painful and I wish she came back too. :)
Wow. These are some great ideas of things to check out. I'm really interested in La Luz. I haven't heard of that. And "New Skin for the Old Ceremony," is one of the most underrated Leonard Cohen albums I think.
Ridiculous tidbit......I saw Peter Buck knock over a chair accidently in a San Fran Mexican restaurant many years ago. I attribute it to that he was wearing his cool black shades while eating. Great musical selections! Gil Scott Heron still rules!!
How is it a 'What's In My Bag' video w/ Peter Buck of R.E.M. (one of the greatest bands in music history) & Corin Tucker of Sleater-Kinney (one of the greatest & longest lasting all female bands) only have 34, 235 views ?
Peter looks great! I don't think REM weren't into the drug scene that much, if at all. Can someone out there give me the knowledge? They weren't exactly Guns And Roses you know. Peter, could you mix and re-release The Hindu Love Gods album or unreleased recordings? Let's get Mr. Zevon into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame!
Better than heroin! Even the British military gave it's soldiers speed during WWI so would be more effective on the battlefield. I recently watched Michael Stipe's guest appearance on Pete and Pete from the 80's. REM may have partaken in Sludgsicles as well. Thanks for the answer!
Michael Stipe liked heroin, MDMA and LSD. All were into speed. Think Berry was into hash. And I think cocaine entered the picture during the Monster era. But they wisely kept quiet, and traveled globally without suspicion as a result. I think they were all tripping when they wrote Gardening at Night
I wonder if Peter Buck comprehends what would happen to him and his cozy white friends if we lived in a timeline where there were statues of the Last Poets everywhere.

Vc e br moça
Peter Buck has such a good ear and knows how to articulate what he's listening to.

Solange, Melvins, Lauryn Hill, Freddie King, The Last Poets, & David Bowie are nice picks. They seem cool.

Members from two of the best American bands ever are in this, cool
Are you referring to Peter Beck (R.E.M.) and Corin Tucker (Sleater-Kinney)
I once ran into Peter Buck at a record store in Ann Arbor before REM played there on the Monster tour. He bought box sets from Van Morrison and John Coltrane.
You need Marc Maron on!!!
Matthew R. Terry Do they?

The Lauryn Hill Unplugged record is the promise of what could be,,,,I wish she would make more records

Peter Buck needs a to do a WIMB weekly.
REM keep on reminding the world of their lasting legacy
My father played with those guys!

La Luz takes over where The Ravonettes left off. They've all but disappeared.
It's interesting to see the dynamic between Peter Buck's open taste vs, Corin's almost predictable picks...
Tim Hecker have to be here!
Finally some love for La Luz!!!
DEAD MOON!
Looking good, Scott! Be well!
Cool shout out to Chicano Batman from Peter Buck!
Really cool picks, a few things I'm not familiar with I'll be checking out.
When was this filmed as I hope this is current and Scott McCaughey is in good health! WE LOVE YOU SCOTT!! *another great "BAG" video too!*
Do Mike Patton next.
"the man with a thousand voices" that would be amazing
honestly any single member from Dead Cross would be a great guest. Not even much of a fan of the band tbh, but everyone involved has some good taste
Excellent!
took one look at these people and I knew randy newman and bowie were gonna be on here
Why does Corin Tucker look so much like Phoebe Bridgers?
I love Chicano Batman
I see an Offa Rex album, @10:33 why no plug? I found that album digging randomly would be nice to show the people that album!!
Good recommendations! Thank you.
Did you like Gal Costa? Look for Maria Bethania and Clara Nunes.
Are they Portuguese?
@@peterdaley8575 brazilian
@@mesgra2 Ah, yes. Just heard that. I've heard the names so often - many Portuguese people where I live.

Nah that was Gil Scott-Heron's song 'Comment No. 1'. One of the Last Poets' song was sampled on a Tribe Called Quest track though
Wholesome Punk thanks
Do what's in bag with Mark slaughter

Michael Wilson speed and beer

I wanna filthy friend
WHAT! No Kim Fowley records? FAIL!!
I wonder if Peter Buck comprehends what would happen to him and his cozy white friends if we lived in a timeline where there were statues of the Last Poets everywhere.
Is that Patton Oswalt's dad?
Get Sugarman in there fam.
Thought it said “Filthy Frank” at first and was slightly confused.
Filthy franks are what's on 7-11's rotisserie.
Same, i was like... Wot?
Try to call Xasthur on your show.
Anyone else notice a little bit of tension between Corine Tucker and Peter Buck?
yeah. It was when the word Solange dribbled out of her mouth. Pete's like whatever..
she doesn't seem too interested in this series of lectures he's embarked upon where he aggressively proves he likes black people
yeah when he steals her lauryn hill piece
get Rag n Bone man on the show! Who's with me?
Somebody needs to introduce them to something called hair conditioner!
First :)) love what’s in my bag
seems like Peter Buck treats his bandmates like slaves. Disgusting.
Boring picks...
That woman has god awful taste in music
Bowie? Cohen? What's awful about that?
David Craig god awful both of them
Alright then.
"That woman"
Lmao "that woman" is Corin Tucker, get tf out of here
Who are all these old people😢
