I've been a big fan of PVE Cele Firebrand for a while now. I used a slightly more condi-oriented build with Traveler runes, usually swapping Hammer for Staff for more healing and Might. But overall it's quite similar to this build, and it's still going strong after the rework! I do love the premise of the aggressive support here, the focus on utility over healing, and the flexibility you now have with tomes and pages. Will certainly tinker around with your version too. Great video as always!

I always love to see Guardian Hammers but man I wish Arenanet would give it the Spellbreaker Hammer treatment by speeding up some of the attacks and adding some damage to the CC abilities. I'd love to have more reason to use it outside of niche PVP scenarios.
Before it was nerfed to nothing u could 8-12k crit in pvp. The slow speed made sense, and planning your strikes were you thought players would be was rewarding. Now it just makes no sense.
I'm working on getting gud at this build but I'm curious if you'd change any utilities now that there's that initial cast time on the mantras. Would you swap out any of those abilities or implement them differently? They're such a long cast time to set them up.

Is there a specific reason why you dropped the sword/torch and axe/shield combination from your last One Guardian Build (Cele Firebrand) For All? I've been using that build for quite a while and it worked wonders before the page re-work. Is it now better to use GS or Hammer instead of the previous weapon combination?
It was mainly because i wanted a more mobile playstyle with the sword, but this was created before willbender came out. Now that willbender is out, i fulfill that role with willbender so i dont feel the need to do it on a firebrand. However, you can still use the old build it works fine, but the axe and greatsword does provide more cc which with the new tomes has many more applications for combos

Hmmh im following snowcrows since im new and it says full harriers gear etc to support heal, is that good? Or is celestial etc more for open world etc? Also how do you have the party health bars like that?
would just using greatsword be okay for this? i feel like the switching of the weapons and the tomes will be a bit too much for me to handle and i do prefer the feel and aesthetic of the greatsword
A lot of the class' utility seems to be in the axe and torch and it uses a sigil that relies on weapon swapping. But if you want to stay on a single weapon, hammer might be your best bet. It has better sustain with the symbols on auto attack and the CC.
What's the setting for seeing elemental dmg the way you do? I saw Teapot having the same but I can't find any information about it anywhere? :) Thanks in advance!

So ive been looking into good detail between all the specs of Guardian and here's the impression im getting and let me know if im on the mark or not... DraganHunter is basically "hey ranger! I can PEW PEW at range too!" with good burst at range but isnt very flexible WillBender is the super mobile but more selfish glass cannon of the guardian specs that HAS to be constantly in melee fighting or itll die Firebrand is the opposite of willbender where it lacks in mobility and isnt as affective at single target damage spiking but is king on support over all the specs of guardian and then theres Core Guardian. where you have a good balanced mix of willbender and Firebrand where its capable of good solid group support but also good solo solo roaming and damage while also being very survivable. and overall may not excel in one aspect like the other three specs but overall is the most flexible and also straightforward. am i accurate on this?
Not sure how much it impacts the build as I've just started trying it out but the mantras being back to how they were before makes the build feel pretty rough.

Started this yesterday and was like wtf kind of apm do you need for this shit and getting super overwhelmed trying to press mantras and tomes to keep buff up so. Came back to try and figure it out. Learned that duration buffs stack which is good to know and explains so much. I was doing heal mantra into quickness when it expired another quickness into mantra into quickness into ult. Lol so much easier just stacking the quickness
Firebrand is hitting higher now and is requires you to think to play it now. And they just reduced page costs in F1. I think the future looks good for firebrand

Does this pass as a healing fb? I wanna set up my guardian for fractals but most groups still look for a hfb. Would it be disingenous to join those groups or can this build perform well in that role too? I can only make one set of ascended armor and Id prefer it to be celestial for its versatility.
There are more differences between heal fb and this build than just the cele gear, but to be honest, healing is not the main thing a firebrand offers, its the aegis and protection. If you protect your allies they wont need as much healing, but if you take a staff and mace shield it should be similar to hfb
Guys be aware, this build isn't the best at one thing, he is good on avg on all things! I was reject so many times in strikes / fractals / raids just cuz I was cele firebrand. It is good for low tier fractal, strikes could be just lie and say you are dps, raids forget about it unless you lie, good for zerg WvW. Other than that having a good a character at each game mode is so much better but pricey. I changed my celestial ascended FB to Qhfb which I used for fractals. that costed me a lot Please be aware, and use if either you are completely new to the game and you are suffering with defense in open world, or you know what you are doing and have other characters

i normally agree with you, but not everyone is new. Many people quit the game and come back to try out new builds because the balance changes. They know what the game used to be and watch these videos to inspire them to pick up the game again.

Dude? Theres a pair of builds out there for hammer spellbreaker and berserker, also for core Warrior. Viables for pve and pvp

is having +toughness in a celestial build an issue for raids etc? I'm new to the firebrand and i'm unsure if I need to worry about pulling aggro etc.
