Something isn't right, if mirtle says the way he dealt with the "wasserman" account money, was perfectly fine because it's not the athletes money, then why would Wasserman fire him, and open themselves up for a court battle from mirtle for unfair dismissal???
Clearly Wasserman were so confident of mirtles wrong doing (allegedly) that they fealt firing him was completely justifiable! Or they could have just pulled him from their account and swapped agents around, there's more to this than he's admitting to.

    • @codystyles3077

Yeah, to simplify what I hear here, Mirt did these alleged things, justifies it by saying it's the norm and were "loans" he had to "reconcile". Most importantly didn't expect the Lawrence's to cut him off like someone would a family member for stealing and lying to cover an unfortunate addiction. That's the feel it has. There is family and then there is "like family"

Guilty/Not Guilty...Don't ever speak out about your ongoing case in public, let the process work it's way through the courts. If anyone is to speak publicly about your case, it should be your Lawyer, not you. Every word you speak will used against you in some fashion & you cannot take back anything you say. He needs to shut his mouth & let it play out in court.

I generally would agree…but our system is broken and vicious. Myrtle and his situation makes one point VERY clearly, “guilty” or innocent of the accusations, the fact is that a public accusation is damning in our society. There is no due process once the accusation is made. I cannot help but completely agree 100% with him on this matter. The manner in which this has been handled was vicious and cruel.
I was a huge fan of the Lawrence’s…all I can hope right now is that this was presented to them and kickstarted by other people. If not…. Well, shame on anyone who did this.

36min mark admits fault to loaning out from the said account for hood divorce,
I don’t think whole heartedly he thought he was doing anything wrong but being in the situation he’s in he was trying to get himself through while everything’s frozen,
But to the law that account is still a business account that was attached to the Lawrence’s as an entity.
As they stated he spent out of the account for personal reasons and….
by what he’s saying alone the spending got out of hand and he’s annoyed that no one pulled it up while he was vulnerable going through the divorce.

I’m no gynecologist but I would bet some money that paying for personal expenses from a business account to which you are an agent, not ultimately the owner, is not a best practice minimum. I also bet his practice of doing so is not as common as he insinuates, and an agreement that him doing so was “ok,” was not in writing, if the agreement ever even occurred. He put this out for the court of public opinion and I listened to the whole thing. I hope he keeps his family together and that I am wrong but this guy is likely in a lot of legitimate trouble.

🙋. Okay so say he’s telling the truth. And the account he used it was nobody’s to control. And he took money out and put his own money back in, because according to Mirtl it was his own money. Typically agents have business accounts, that keep track of all expenses, why didn’t he use that? Why get yourself in this situation by using an account that’s associated to the Lawrence’s. By this logic it does make you a very dumb agent!. That’s like a lawyer using a client’s retainer money, for his own expenses. And then putting it back with your own money. That’s why it goes into an account that lawyers keep track of in case a client tries to sue them. So at the end of the day, you can throw the blame to anyone and everyone, but Lucas put himself in that situation.

When you are given a company CC, for company business, travel, food lodging etc, you are held accountable for only using that CC for those expenses. It's similar with a checking acct, cash or however you receive up front funds. The legal issue is he did indeed misuse other funds, ultimately not his. Thats factual by his own admission in this interview. This is why his attorneys would advise against him doing this show. But the Wasserman issue is they didn't have a set protocol of procedures for spending in place in this LLC account. But Mirtl's basis is he assumed he could do this. Wasserman's claim is he shouldn't do this. But with no procedural guidelines its now a legal interpretation in court, that will not favor Mirtl. Unfortunate, but if there's no restrictions given, it still must be asked for permission. Final thought is Lucas is fighting the battle of, "what's ethical" which I fully understand. But in business it's never ethical, it's legal and a lot of legal things are unethical.

When the $240k wasn't paid to Alpinestars they took it off the sponsorship money. I'm a good guy, so even at $15/gram I'll sell you 2 for $25, but I ain't ever selling it to you at my cost. Order, invoice, set up delivery, receive payment and not mark up the gear a penny? Nah, that's not happening. Now, how are they forcing Feld to buy merch from them so Feld has gear to sell at the races? And they would have saved $120k in taxes on the sponsorship money, then take the $240k for the gear tax free with the right accountant.
