    Heb afgelopen zomer een rondreis gemaakt door Normandie, en vrijwel dezelfde dingen gezien. Zitten zelfs haast de zelfde foto's tussen. Het blijft indrukwekkend om terug te zien!

    i have been to most of these places and i know to an extent of what your father felt, there was no place to hide, no place to cry, you had to fight. utmost respect from me

    It is good that people continue to remember. My dad dropped into the Merville Battery aged 19. The experience impacted him for the rest of his life and affected him till the day he died. He was proud, I am proud of him but I wish that young people would consider the sacrifice of our armed forces now and then not only pshyically but mentally in their committment to fighting for freedom to live democratically.

    Susan, My thanks and gratitude to your father. My uncle was KIA in a Stuka dive bomb attack in North Africa in November 1942. LIke you, I wonder if anyone remembers .... let alone cares. RIP Uncle Jim. I will never forget your sacrifice.

    He estado tres veces en diferentes años, y cada vez que veo estas imágenes junto las que yo tengo grabadas ,se me ponen los pelos de punta, y seguiría visitando cada cierto tiempo estos lugares, porque siempre hay algo que no has visto, y te retrae a aquellos años

    The german army had incredible constructions around the world .. I Know that their ideals were wrong but nobody can doubt his great and powerful technology. THE BEST .

    i will tell you to say that there was proberly the biggests amount of deaths in france right there, it is beautiful. i went on a school trip for a week and it is amazing and it was such a dream come true because i had been dreaming about going to Normandy for more years then i can think it is amazing but also really sad at the american war memorial at omaha beach.

    I wen't there when I was kid. When I got back I used the pictures and story for a primairy school presentation about the second world war. I got a 10 ^^

    como comenté anteriormente, vi fotos de los bunckers, y en ele stado que quedaron al final de la guerra. Era impactante.
    Ver ahora taques,los bunckers , muy cuidado y elcemnterio con las cruces blancas, me entristece. Los jóvenes que murieron por su Patria, y por la Democracia merecerían una placa con sus nombres, si ello fuera posible, Mis condolencia a Susan Riley. entiendo lo que siente, porque en mi familia, por parte de Madre, sobrevivieron solo mi abuela materna y mi madre.     Everyone should visit the Beaches of Normandy, walk on Omaha Beach, and stroll between the 9,000+ crosses in the American Cemetery at Omaha Beach. Sacred ground. There isn't a day I don't remember the young men who sacrificed their lives for PEACE.
