Damn I miss this sound. I know a lot of people, including Em, didn't like Relapse, but it's my fav album of all time. Although I did really like the music he put out during that time, I am glad he's moved past that stage in his life. Def not a healthy state of mind he was in back in the day.

He did get insanely creative using drugs and used that to write a ton of his rap, that’s basically all Slim Shady is.
When he finally almost died (OD), he hard stopped his drug use (savage hard move for anyone, most just go on and die from the shit) and he had to re-learn how to rap.
You could hear it in albums after Relapse, the struggle while Writting sobre.
The dope thing about that is that now we get to hear a complete EM in MTBM A&B, an EM that’s been to hell and back - survived intense drug addiction and is now starting to harness the Slim Shady mindset when sober while also perfecting his ability to rap overall.
Basically, we get to hear an EMINEM that is now in control, a complete EM. 🔥
In control Eminem, perfect metaphor for that is The Monster video, where he takes a trip in his mind palace of sort and on the roof of it finds caged raging Slim Shady who still gives him his written raps.
