I have no Italian blood in my ancestry, but I will always remember the unique sensation I had when I visited Italy: I felt at home.. The influence of Italians that emigrated to Argentina is undeniable... There's still a lot of Italians that arrived in the mid 20 Century living there, and of course their descendants. If you finally decide to move there, I'm pretty sure you will fill at home....

As an Argentinian living in Canada for more than 35 years, I can say that we are not remotely treated in Canada like we Argentinians treat foreigners in our country. In fact, at most, we are tolerated and viewed as second class citizens, no matter what. Very different realities.

Sumemos el hecho que independientemente de si te sentis descriminado o no, existe un techo invisible. Uno puede negarlo y convencerse que no es asi, como lo hice yo durante decadas, pero tarde o temprano te cae la ficha. La alternativa es seguir viviendo anestesiado y pseudo feliz en estado de negacion.

Thank you for your videos! I lived in Bs As from 1984 to 2005 and THAT was the happiest era of my life. Since then I moved back to California and still haven’t found the joy of life as I knew it in Argentina. So, last month I looked at the big picture and made the decision to take early county pension and move back to Bs As next year to return to my family, friends and the city I call home. I cannot wait to be there again and be surrounded by LIFE, affection, touchy feely humans and, well, basically the lovely chaos that the city offers. I hope that you and your family continue to enjoy Buenos Aires! Again, thank you for the videos as it’s great to have a current update of what may have changed since I left and what I may encounter when I return.
I emigrated to the United States almost 9 years ago, I met my wife here and stayed, I am a resident of the USA and I plan to become an American citizen at the end of the year. Honestly, we noticed a change in the quality of life here, life has become super expensive, and sometimes it is difficult, beyond that, I like living in the United States, but I must be honest, I left Argentina because I didn't see myself future, it was in 2015, I am happy here but every time I go to Argentina I enjoy it a lot and I feel safer and with peace of mind that I don't feel here, for example, I don't have health insurance in the USA and that sometimes doesn't let me sleep, I know that I am lucky to have my immigration situation in order and I can return to Argentina whenever I want, but many cannot do that. Argentina is a good country, with its problems, like any other, but the human warmth is something on another level. I have no doubt that you will love my country, as an immigrant I tell you that everything is a long process, there will be good and bad moments but they will pass and everything will be fine. It happened to me and I know what I'm talking about, emigrating is not easy but it is a learning that you will never forget in your life, believe me, it is something that will mark you forever. Not only 56% of people support Milei but even kids say "viva la libertad carajo". We will work for the ideals of liberty non stop. Smaller and more efficient State educating people on how to respect individual liberties. Antiguamente era el teatro "El Ateneo", en el escenario hay una cafetería. Yo iba siempre y me sentaba a leer por horas en un palco (teoricamente no se podia hacer porque no es una biblioteca, estaba prohibido tomar apuntes y anotaciones de los libros). Siempre veía caras conocidas, siempre los mismos, muchos turistas comprando y muchos argentinos leyendo gratis simulando ser compradores, evitando dejarle alguna señal de uso a los libros por amor a la lectura y respeto a los compradores. 🇦🇷

Muchas gracias por tus palabras, y muchas gracias por entender por el proceso que estamos pasando, aqui en Argentina se han experimentado todo tipo de procesos socialistas, que tienen que ser abatidos mediante el dialogo, la lógica y la tan conocida "batalla cultural", dado que durante mucho tiempo no solo se ha restringido la palabra y discriminado a aquellos que apostabamos por la Libertad, sino tambien que eramos silenciados por esta Casta Política con principios socialistas, que aún al presente todavía siguen empernadas en el poder político, sabemos que todavía no es sufuciente, pero como así habras visto que los Argentinos somos muy pasionales y con mucha iniciativa, todos activamente tratamos de mejorar mas allá de quienes dirijan el país, porque somos tierra de inmigrantes y locales que sabemos lo que queremos, Libertad ante la Expropiación de nuestras vidas por parte de la entidad Estatal, y por eso luchamos todos los dias, por tratar de estar mejor, hemos aprendido a ser felices en momentos dificiles, y eso es lo que nos ha transformado en una sociedad, que tambien tiene sus cosas positivas como tambien negativas, pero a esto ultimo solo te vas a ir dando cuenta con la experiencia dentro de la sociedad, al fin y a cabo, inmigrar a Argentina es como nacer nuevamente, en otro pais totalmente diferente a la mentalidad Global, pero totalmente acogible con quienes quieran desarrollarse mas allá de las adversidades. Espero que tengas una muy buen encaminamiento en este hermoso pais, el cual muchas personas tratamos de que sea el mejor del mundo día a día! I hope you have a great life in Argentina, sometimes the cultural differences will annoy you (punctuality among latin countries is not very common, sometimes the burocracy is insane, and many things are not as quick as in the USA) but in the other hand you Will be in a country where family and friends are sacred. Éste país, al igual que USA, se levantó con el esfuerzo de muchos inmigrantes de todas partes del mundo, que buscaban paz y libertad. Puede ser que la economía no sea la mejor, y si no tenés ganancias en dólares, realmente se hace difícil, pero paz y libertad todavía hay. No sé si este gobierno pueda arreglar las cosas, o les termine explotando en la cara, pero mientras no se metan en medio de eso, van a estar tranquilos. Una recomendación, no se pongan a opinar ni de política, ni de fútbol, y así evitarán cualquier tipo de heaters. Por otro lado, cuando les recomendamos el hospital público, no es por nada. Aquí las cosas funcionan al revés que en otros lados. Los mejores médicos están en los hospitales públicos, sobre todo de la capital, y las mejores universidades son las públicas, no las privadas. Entonces, si les llega a pasar algo serio, deben buscar el mejor lugar, ya sea público o privado. Porque las clínicas privadas tienen muy buenas habitaciones y atención al cliente, pero los doctores no siempre son los mejores. Entonces, si es una gripe, cualquier clínica está bien. Pero si es algo serio, averigüen bien primero. Y por último, si no saben hablar español, les recomiendo que tomen clases, les va a facilitar mucho la vida, porque aquí la gente no maneja mucho el inglés. Mucha suerte! 😘

We traveled the world, the only place where people are as nice as argentinians is Autralia and New Zealand, but argentina in our heart. We’ve been 4 times in Argentina because we loved it so much. We traveled the country. We will be retired in january and we will fly from Canada to Buenos Aires with our little chihuahua for two months but january 2026 will be three months. We will stay microcentro on Esmeralda. I know many people don’t like the area but we do. Learning Spanish rioplatense and getting prepared. Buenos Aires is such a great city with each barrio different. We are ready to explore more, eating a lot, having fun

Dear friend. I think you have been very brave in coming to live here in Argentina. I think there is still a long way to go to see if the current economic policy has positive results. I hope so, but it remains to be seen. Besides, there is our drama with the impressive inflation and the insecurity if one moves away from the center of Buenos Aires We have to take into account that the dollar is increasing less than inflation, so Argentina will be more and more expensive in dollars. We have a serious problem to meet our obligations in dollars, there are not enough dollars coming into the country, that is why there are so many restrictions for those who want to recover dividends for their investments in Argentina. You should visit other part of Argentina. Argentina has very different climates and geographics' . Small towns, and nice cities like Mendoza and Cordoba. Cold places like Ushuaia and tropical places like Missiones
El señor viene del norte de Idaho, si va al oeste de la Provincia de Buenos Aires o a La Pampa se va a sentir como en su casa, paisaje similar de llanuras con granjas y estancias, con el beneficio de unos inviernos menos rigurosos.

The adaption could be tough at the beginning because of the culture and linguistic differences but be patient. Every inmigration here had succeded. Italians, Spanish, Germans, Polish, Russians. I was born in Argentina having Irish ancestors, so this is home to me, but after traveling a bit through the States and Western Europe I realized we seem to be more friendly than people in the First World. Getting your income in US Dollars will help you a lot here and everything will seem to you incredibly cheap...unfortunately for us, our peso has lost so much value in the past decade but the current Government is taking good measures to turn the tide, so I think we'll have a much better economy in two years' time. I do wish you guys the best possible stay among us. Take care.
As an Argentinian living in the USA for the last almost 24 years I am glad to see you’re being welcomed in my beloved country Argentina, I certainly feel your pain starting from zero in a culture completely different to the American (North American) culture, it reminds me how hard was it to land and start a new life not even speaking the language, do not get discouraged it becomes easier with time, also we Argentinians are much more warm people and you’ll feel at home in no time. As an Argentinian living in Canada for more than 35 years, I can say that we are not remotely treated in Canada like we Argentinians treat foreigners in our country. In fact, at most, we are tolerated and viewed as second class citizens, no matter what. Very different realities.

Sumemos el hecho que independientemente de si te sentis descriminado o no, existe un techo invisible. Uno puede negarlo y convencerse que no es asi, como lo hice yo durante decadas, pero tarde o temprano te cae la ficha. La alternativa es seguir viviendo anestesiado y pseudo feliz en estado de negacion.

Thank you for your videos! I lived in Bs As from 1984 to 2005 and THAT was the happiest era of my life. Since then I moved back to California and still haven’t found the joy of life as I knew it in Argentina. So, last month I looked at the big picture and made the decision to take early county pension and move back to Bs As next year to return to my family, friends and the city I call home. I cannot wait to be there again and be surrounded by LIFE, affection, touchy feely humans and, well, basically the lovely chaos that the city offers. I hope that you and your family continue to enjoy Buenos Aires! Again, thank you for the videos as it’s great to have a current update of what may have changed since I left and what I may encounter when I return.

I emigrated to the United States almost 9 years ago, I met my wife here and stayed, I am a resident of the USA and I plan to become an American citizen at the end of the year. Honestly, we noticed a change in the quality of life here, life has become super expensive, and sometimes it is difficult, beyond that, I like living in the United States, but I must be honest, I left Argentina because I didn't see myself future, it was in 2015, I am happy here but every time I go to Argentina I enjoy it a lot and I feel safer and with peace of mind that I don't feel here, for example, I don't have health insurance in the USA and that sometimes doesn't let me sleep, I know that I am lucky to have my immigration situation in order and I can return to Argentina whenever I want, but many cannot do that. Argentina is a good country, with its problems, like any other, but the human warmth is something on another level. I have no doubt that you will love my country, as an immigrant I tell you that everything is a long process, there will be good and bad moments but they will pass and everything will be fine. It happened to me and I know what I'm talking about, emigrating is not easy but it is a learning that you will never forget in your life, believe me, it is something that will mark you forever. Argentina is one of the few countries that even after A FAIR share of lessons on how government spludering money can collapse an economy , still has many working and educated people.
Not only 56% of people support Milei but even kids say "viva la libertad carajo". We will work for the ideals of liberty non stop. Smaller and more efficient State educating people on how to respect individual liberties.
While the rest of the world is moving towards more government spending and intervention and institutionalizing several ideologies, here people are extremely tired of political correctness prioritizing common sense and "you do you, respect the others, pay for your own bills"

Antiguamente era el teatro "El Ateneo", en el escenario hay una cafetería. Yo iba siempre y me sentaba a leer por horas en un palco (teoricamente no se podia hacer porque no es una biblioteca, estaba prohibido tomar apuntes y anotaciones de los libros). Siempre veía caras conocidas, siempre los mismos, muchos turistas comprando y muchos argentinos leyendo gratis simulando ser compradores, evitando dejarle alguna señal de uso a los libros por amor a la lectura y respeto a los compradores. 🇦🇷

Muchas gracias por tus palabras, y muchas gracias por entender por el proceso que estamos pasando, aqui en Argentina se han experimentado todo tipo de procesos socialistas, que tienen que ser abatidos mediante el dialogo, la lógica y la tan conocida "batalla cultural", dado que durante mucho tiempo no solo se ha restringido la palabra y discriminado a aquellos que apostabamos por la Libertad, sino tambien que eramos silenciados por esta Casta Política con principios socialistas, que aún al presente todavía siguen empernadas en el poder político, sabemos que todavía no es sufuciente, pero como así habras visto que los Argentinos somos muy pasionales y con mucha iniciativa, todos activamente tratamos de mejorar mas allá de quienes dirijan el país, porque somos tierra de inmigrantes y locales que sabemos lo que queremos, Libertad ante la Expropiación de nuestras vidas por parte de la entidad Estatal, y por eso luchamos todos los dias, por tratar de estar mejor, hemos aprendido a ser felices en momentos dificiles, y eso es lo que nos ha transformado en una sociedad, que tambien tiene sus cosas positivas como tambien negativas, pero a esto ultimo solo te vas a ir dando cuenta con la experiencia dentro de la sociedad, al fin y a cabo, inmigrar a Argentina es como nacer nuevamente, en otro pais totalmente diferente a la mentalidad Global, pero totalmente acogible con quienes quieran desarrollarse mas allá de las adversidades.
Espero que tengas una muy buen encaminamiento en este hermoso pais, el cual muchas personas tratamos de que sea el mejor del mundo día a día!
Mas alla de los tiranos politicos socialistas, economistas cómplices, periodistas ensobrados, empresarios prevendarios (entre ellos banqueros locales), sindicalistas corruptos, y siervos ignorantes con sesgos totalmente inpenetrables, más alla de eso siempre Argentina (o quienes trabajamos todos los dias para que así sea) tratará de salir adelante.. Con la mirada hacia el mismo Norte, la Libertad!

Soy uruguaya....acá al lado si....pero me crié en Argentina (Buenos Aires)...vivimos doce años con mi familia....del 82 al 94...mucho tiempo atrás pero los recuerdos son imborrables....Después de 30 años de haber vuelto y yendo muy de seguido sigo pensando en volver....me quede por mi vieja que me necesitaba...pero ahora que partió estoy pensando seriamente en volver....Y amo mi país...pero cada vez que voy a Buenos Aires siento que ese es mi lugar.....es como una madre....cuando me estoy tomando el Buquebus de vuelta siempre se me caen unas cuantas lagrimas.....me alegro que están adaptándose bien y disfruten cada momento.....es un país hermoso con gente extraordinaria....Espero el año que viene estar viviendo por allí

Éste país, al igual que USA, se levantó con el esfuerzo de muchos inmigrantes de todas partes del mundo, que buscaban paz y libertad. Puede ser que la economía no sea la mejor, y si no tenés ganancias en dólares, realmente se hace difícil, pero paz y libertad todavía hay. No sé si este gobierno pueda arreglar las cosas, o les termine explotando en la cara, pero mientras no se metan en medio de eso, van a estar tranquilos.
Una recomendación, no se pongan a opinar ni de política, ni de fútbol, y así evitarán cualquier tipo de heaters.
Por otro lado, cuando les recomendamos el hospital público, no es por nada. Aquí las cosas funcionan al revés que en otros lados. Los mejores médicos están en los hospitales públicos, sobre todo de la capital, y las mejores universidades son las públicas, no las privadas. Entonces, si les llega a pasar algo serio, deben buscar el mejor lugar, ya sea público o privado. Porque las clínicas privadas tienen muy buenas habitaciones y atención al cliente, pero los doctores no siempre son los mejores. Entonces, si es una gripe, cualquier clínica está bien. Pero si es algo serio, averigüen bien primero.
Y por último, si no saben hablar español, les recomiendo que tomen clases, les va a facilitar mucho la vida, porque aquí la gente no maneja mucho el inglés.

We traveled the world, the only place where people are as nice as argentinians is Autralia and New Zealand, but argentina in our heart. We’ve been 4 times in Argentina because we loved it so much. We traveled the country. We will be retired in january and we will fly from Canada to Buenos Aires with our little chihuahua for two months but january 2026 will be three months. We will stay microcentro on Esmeralda. I know many people don’t like the area but we do. Learning Spanish rioplatense and getting prepared. Buenos Aires is such a great city with each barrio different. We are ready to explore more, eating a lot, having fun

*I recommend you the community hospitals, they are the best as an alternative to public hospitals, which are also very good, but public priority must be given to the local population. The community hospitals are for example, the German hospital, the British hospital, the Italian hospital, etc., have complex medicine and good care and are not as too much expensive as the super top hospitals.*

Dear friend. I think you have been very brave in coming to live here in Argentina. I think there is still a long way to go to see if the current economic policy has positive results. I hope so, but it remains to be seen. Besides, there is our drama with the impressive inflation and the insecurity if one moves away from the center of Buenos Aires We have to take into account that the dollar is increasing less than inflation, so Argentina will be more and more expensive in dollars. We have a serious problem to meet our obligations in dollars, there are not enough dollars coming into the country, that is why there are so many restrictions for those who want to recover dividends for their investments in Argentina. You should visit other part of Argentina. Argentina has very different climates and geographics' . Small towns, and nice cities like Mendoza and Cordoba. Cold places like Ushuaia and tropical places like Missiones

El señor viene del norte de Idaho, si va al oeste de la Provincia de Buenos Aires o a La Pampa se va a sentir como en su casa, paisaje similar de llanuras con granjas y estancias, con el beneficio de unos inviernos menos rigurosos.

Wow... I'm really moved by your more than kind words ! It's so nice to hear so many praises from people from far away countries. I was born in Argentina having Irish ancestors, so this is home to me, but after traveling a bit through the States and Western Europe I realized we seem to be more friendly than people in the First World.
Getting your income in US Dollars will help you a lot here and everything will seem to you incredibly cheap...unfortunately for us, our peso has lost so much value in the past decade but the current Government is taking good measures to turn the tide, so I think we'll have a much better economy in two years' time.

As an Argentinian living in the USA for the last almost 24 years I am glad to see you’re being welcomed in my beloved country Argentina, I certainly feel your pain starting from zero in a culture completely different to the American (North American) culture, it reminds me how hard was it to land and start a new life not even speaking the language, do not get discouraged it becomes easier with time, also we Argentinians are much more warm people and you’ll feel at home in no time.
I am certainly looking forward to retirement time and to get back home after so many years.
