    If you’re “struggling to keep up” or “really struggling,” lost the Zapdos fight, AND aren’t in a good position to counter with your own scoring, THEN it’s appropriate to concede. It boggles my mind how many people bring it to a vote an entire minute before zapdos even spawns, though. Babies.

    I only surrender when I for sure know my teammates just don’t work well together. Example: I had a team of 2 defenders and 3 speedsters in ranked, and ALL speedsters went Jungle. Not a death sentence, but then the speedsters constantly kept feeding the enemy team, pushing for 1v3s and taking turns dying instead of trying to work together. They never tried for Dreadnaw, and they had no exp between the 3 of them. Rather surrender than get styled because the other members are playing solo adventures in a team based game.

    Something important to remember in any competitive game is to keep yourself mentally healty. Doesn't matter what you are playing, if you are entering in a losing streak or you feel frustrated after a last minute lose, you need to take a break, maybe just go for a big glass of water, drink it calmly and then go back to play; otherwise you will tilt and will stop enjoying what you are playing and even start becaming toxic

    It's funny, because my experience so far as been the opposite. Getting matches where the team just won't cooperate, continually gets in each other's way, getting stomped hard by the enemy team like there's no contest, and just generally being a match that needs to be ended so that everyone can move on and have a better day, but nope. @Alex-ks3uu 3 года назад +6

      Yeah, this is the thing. Double points and zapdos almost make the previous 8 minutes of the game just irrelevant.
      But that's also why, if a majority of my team want's to surrender, I will. I don't want people to be stuck playing a game they aren't having fun in just because it's theoretically possible to win. They aren't having fun. And chances are I'm not having fun either.

      In professional sports, commentators will occasionally mention how a team lost a game but managed to secure a victory. The premise is that the team didn't deserve to win the game based on its overall performance. And that's how I feel when I'm losing a game by hundreds of points before Zapdos spawns.
      Frankly, if our team is getting farmed in the lanes and can't win any team fight and the opposing team is up several levels then I'm not invested anymore. And when I do manage to win a game because of Zapdos I feel gross. Icky. It's like being in a championship game and when the other team loses no one gets the coveted champions trophy. Instead, they hand me a participation trophy and the other team goes home with nothing.

    • @Alex-ks3uu
      @Alex-ks3uu 3 года назад

      @@lllCTHULHUlll Yeah. I really truly think Zapdos needs a nerf. Or a change in mechanics.
      Or maybe Zapdos is fine but the actual issue is that double points are too strong?

    • @Alex-ks3uu
      @Alex-ks3uu 3 года назад

      @@michaelford2754 If you've reached Zapdos, you might as well see if you can flip it and win, I totally agree. I usually see surrender votes pop up earlier in the game, at the 5 minute mark when it becomes available. Yeah, you COULD still win, because this game is won/lost in the last 2 mintues, but if people are miserable by the 5 minute mark then I'm gonna accept that surrender.
      There are certainly times where a surrender vote gets put in by one disgruntled person, and that feeling isn't shared by the rest of the team. But if 3 people have accepted that vote? Then I'm gonna accept it, even if I think we could win or if I'm having fun. Because if 3 people want out, I'm not gonna force them to play a game they aren't enjoying.
      Obviously it's a vote for a reason, so no one is OBLIGATED to at all. But it's how I approach the decision.

      @tehtayziez 3 года назад

      The sentiment of the video was good, you really shouldn't give up and should just be farming constantly until it's time to group and only really getting kills when you capitalize on opponents mistakes.
      But the tactics in Krashy's video were a bit off and the main the reason the rotom play paid off wasnt that going top and getting rotom gave them much, but was because the opponent, after taking drednaw immediately ran down top lane to dive a second tier goal which is suicide if its defended that early in the game so they were given a huge amount of comeback exp for killing higher level opponents.
      I mostly disagreed with the notion that they were too far behind to group (looked at the levels), when really it was more that Krashy didnt need to go ganking as a chameleon who had already fallen behind and doing it at the worst timing when instead he could have been farming and getting ready for drednaw so the team could have had better positioning and actually had a chance to take drednaw.
      Focusing on farming and timings for drednaw is far more important than anything the team would have got by those early ganks, so I just dont want people to start thinking that because they're not winning there is no reason to be grouping, because it took ages for us to start getting people to understand how important that is even up in master.

    Look, it sucks to play a losing game. But I find when you're losing, you're probably not losing by as much as you think you are. The in-game popups are not particularly encouraging or descriptive.
    But EVEN IF you lose Zapdos, and you're losing the entire game, you can win. It has happened to me multiple times. Because even with a win on Zapdos, they may not have the huge points to dunk, and you may be able to backdoor them with some points of your own.

    No thanks. Do as you will, but IMO too many people associate "having fun," solely with winning, which is unfortunate. If you just want to win, play this game I just created, it's called, "You Win." Ok, ready? Start! ....You win... have fun? Didn't think so.
    Sass aside, I play solo queue and sometimes I'm simply not having fun with the teammates I have, even if we're winning, and I don't want to spend another 5 minutes of possibly someone stealing my mobs, getting out of position, feeding, AFKing, etc, and I'd rather just acknowledge my frustration, feel it, call the match, let it go, and move to the next match; it stands in everyone's favor. Really, if you're seeing teammates try to surrender, you know they are clearly not motivated to keep playing this match/aren't having a good time, and you're purposefully denying them that; who's the bigger jerk? The guy who just wants everyone to move on to matches where they can have fun, or the guy who denies the fun of others for their own sense of, "we can still win this!"?
    The obvious counterpoint, is that unfortunate or not, some people do need to win to have fun, and by surrendering you're denying them that. Which is true, so it goes both ways, which is exactly why I said "do as you will," before giving my opinion. Best solution? Acknowledge both sides, stop complaining, and realize that enjoying anything that involves other people involves a little give and take from all parties, and you won't always get 100% the experience you want, but it's still 1000x better than no experience at all (much like the partnership of marriage, for those of us who know what that entails). This then becomes a non-issue that didn't need a video in the first place. It just spreads misconception of what it means to coexist with others.
    tl;dr
    Want to surrender? Vote to surrender.
    Don't want to surrender? Vote not to surrender.

    Growing up playing youth sports, surrendering was never an option. Could be getting ran over, shut out, and not having any fun, but the game still has to be played. That mentality has stuck with me into my adult life, and now I'm the dick who never surrenders. The matches aren't that long, do I just like to use the time to experiment with ranges, positioning and timing, as well as learning from my opponents the ranges, timing and movesets of pokemon I don't personally use.

    So i'm not a ranked player, but Pretty much the only time i actually try to surrender early is if either:
    A: i ended up in a 4v5 or especially the rare instance where 2 teamates go afk so it ends up being 3v5
    B: My team is so thoroughly outclassed that we are probably gonna be stuck at our spawn by the 3 minute mark. -though from what i've heard about the sheer range of tiers that can be fought by even the highest ranks, this situation can easily happen to people trying to ascend past great-
    Other than that, pretty much only surrender after it's clear that there isn't enough the team can do to offset the zapdos points, especially in the lower tiers/standard matches (seriously, from the relativly few ranked matches I've played, low ranked and standard matches feel the exact same) where the zapdos points make up a good majority of the game's score

    I'll have six games where they still don't understand what the heck do and be separated in all corners of the map. Not even trying to take a zapdos fight or room or drednaw. So while it can work out in the end. Most of the time it doesn't and I'd rather just move on

    What do you recommend I do in that situation? Because I even give the sign for “Retreat”, and they don’t take the advice…

    I mean at least they were grouping up for teamfight, sometimes you just don't even have that and playstyles don't match at all, even then there's always some people that don't want to surrender and yeah sometimes it's a miraculous save or a zapdos steal (which should never be a thing considering it decide the winner in most cases).
    Sometimes I just like to cast a surrender vote to make people react (since we don't have anything to tell people to get their fingers out of theirs asses), but not gonna lie it usually end badly, some people playstyle just don't fit together at all.

    I never surrender. Maybe if there’s 2 AFK or something crazy but I have been getting stomped AND loose zap and still win. You never know and what’s another 2 minutes to find out. Plus it’s a psychological thing. Surrendering is a slippery slope. Surrender at zap? Why not surrender after loosing 3 dred? Why not surrender after loosing 1 dred? It’s a competitive mentality. Never surrender ever. It will make you a better player to just fight it out when you face adversity. This is the same with RL sports and life in general.

    Now I would not have surrendered in that particular match because your team mates were mostly making good decisions, but they just got out played.
    The matches I surrender in are those lane partners that deep dive every single time to get kills and just end up feeding the enemy. Bad decisions on top of bad decisions, it always ends badly.
    Had one game where a Snorlax kept stealing the last hit for my attacker, or a talonflame that decides to take bottom lane and constantly deep dives. This was in ultra rank too.

    I only surrender when we get an AFK, but the annoying thing is that one (maybe random?) person is told "Hey, you have an AFK, you wanna take the dead weight?" It doesn't inform the whole party, just that one person. So me and my duo partner will try to surrender because he got the AFKer (it's never me getting them btw despite being the Support in 95% of my games), we both know there is an AFK because we can talk to each other, but our other allies don't realize and won't just let the match go and move on because from their perspective we have all our teammates. We've decided it's better to leave the AI at the base so that people will realize that there's an AFK.
