We've had a limited since May. Fit and finish is good. Driver seat is really supportive and comfortable. On a recent road trip from Berwyn Illinois to St Louis Missouri we averaged over 27 mpg! That's at speeds from 75 to 85 mph.
@@sunnyvalejedi sorry for the late response. So far no issues at 16000 miles. We have one child and one on the way and with multiple road trips with other family members it was the right choice. I got mine for 37K. The only options I didn't get was the multi cameras, front bumper sensors, upgraded sound system and the 20" wheels. I did not want these options at all. But I have navagation, pano roof, stitched dashboard, tow package and the uconnect entertainment system. So i got mine exactly the way I wanted. 37k is an awesome deal brand new. I'm not worried about resale value as I'm keeping for a long time.
Another comment - I was never aware of the _liability_ that perforated seats could be with kids (until I saw your yogurt test in another review)... now seeing them in 2nd and 3rd row seats where there is no benefit to them and they JUST introduce liability, seems really short-sighted on FCA's part. Definitely appreciate you bringing that up, never thought about it until you pointed it out!
Thanks, Riyad. I had to stop doing the yogurt test because I couldn't always get it completely out... but that certainly proves the point that these perforated seats, while all the rage right now, just aren't practical for a family car.
2:20 "The seats are super firm" -- How is that a plus? It's supposed to be a comfortable minivan, not a track car. 4:42 "Standard leather seating surfaces" -- That's not a benefit in some areas. I hope in California they offer fabric as standard. Fully agree with you on AWD. Weird decision not to have that. Price is nuts at any level. Not going to sell, unless FCA gives huge discounts.
I THINK that there's a cloth seat option in the states for you, but not in Canada. In terms of the firmness, they weren't like track seats but not so soft that you don't feel supported. A nice middle ground, I thought. Thanks for watching.
Family Wheels Thanks. I sat in Durango R/T recently, and the seats and suspension were punishing on longer drives over uneven surfaces (which is what the roads in California are). I hope it's not like that in Pacifica.
mountainhobo was wondering about the seat comment also - FCA has the rep for firm seats and for 2017 they finally started changing that and softening/polishing them up (Durango and Grand Cherokee that in aware of how) - given how comfy the Odyssey and Sedona are - wasn't thrilled to hear these seats are firm.
It's going to come down to personal preference, Riyad. I prefer a firmer seat. I guess that's why you can choose from dozens of firm/soft choices when we buy a new mattress. If you take one for a test drive, let us know how you think they are.
Yeah, they got low ratings because of the Town and Country's minivans that Chrysler triped over, but they came to change that forever in this one. Don't believe me, try one and it will be so different from the previous versions.
Oliver Lugo While you might be right, only time will tell. Only years and miles will give an accurate picture of reliability. I hope the Pacifica proves reliable, cause I really like it.
you can get the maximum care warranty package which covers pretty much everything then they have a lifetime powertrain warranty that you can get. It pretty much covers all your bases.
I believe you can move your most used icons to the lower icon tray for ease of use instead of wading through the menus to find the features. Great review!
Hi Paul. Like your channel. We have had an odyssey for 5 years and it's tough to give up a van esp with 3 kids. I would love to upgrade to the Pacifica however at this price point I would want an awd van for weeks like this one in Calgary. Also I believe the sienna has the most power in the segment now (296 hp).
Family Wheels, how do you like the visibility around the A pillars. I've seen another review where they said they had issues with this. I'm real close to purchasing a minivan and have narrowed it down to 3, including the Pacifica (which is currently my top choice).
I personally don't understand the stigma/image issue with minivans. There is nothing more practical, convenient, and comfortable than a minivan. I feel sorry for all the sheep that are driving their families around in small to medium SUVs.
I noticed your son is using latch in his car seat still. Most latch anchors are only good for up to 35lbs. Just wanted to make sure you know that since he looks like he might weigh more than that and would need to switch to using the seat belt to secure the seat. Thanks for the good review though. I'm curious to really see how this van stacks up against the new 2018 odyssey. Are you planning to review it too?
You are very welcome. Not really, I think you are doing a great job. However, maybe some more larger sedans like the Lincoln you had on the show a few weeks back. i.e Mazda 6, Honda Accord or a Toyota Avalon.
While we do like and love our minivan we are trading it in this year. I can't justify the cost of a Pacifica at 39K without AWD. Even the Sienna with AWD is very meh when I can get a good SUV with AWD that will fit our needs going forward. We moved this year and live on a mountain and need the AWD in winter bummer if more vans offered AWD with good towing we would spend the money on one again.
Hey Paul, sure it's a nice mini van But wow $63,000 & wait till a hybrid goes in it! Probably it will cost a extra $5000 & then your better off with the Metris from Mercedes? I'll stick to a pickup truck and I never put my dog in the back, she rides up front with me & the wife goes in the back! lol but true.
Damn all the SUV & their haters. If you need to sit 6~7 full grown adults, buy the damn minivan! Honestly the aversion to minivans in North America is almost laughable by other nations; in China high ranking CEOs & politicians are ferried around in a Buick GL8, a MINIVAN! The Pacifica Hybrid is even better as you'll get MPG that matches that of midsize sedans. If FCA could get reliability down this would be hands down be the best family vehicle money can buy in North America.
Great review! Love the Canadian perspective. I've ordered the Hybrid and I can't wait for it to arrive! The price point was a sticking point for me, but the Hybrid makes up for much of it with rebates (in Ontario, Quebec and here in BC) and in fuel savings. I sure wish BC got the $14,000 discount Ontario gets!
You are saying that chrysler lost an oportunity not having an all-wheel-drive thing, but then you said you asked Chrysler about that, and you said: They made it all wheel drive ready. So what do you exactly mean?
Great review. I have owned my Tusk White Limited for 8 months now and love it!!!! Check out a great group on facebook of these Chrysler minivan owners! facebook.com/groups/Chryslerminivans/
For years I've noticed an odd and slightly off-putting smell to the leather interiors of Kias and Hyundais. it's been at least five years since my last car show though, so maybe it's been fixed
The second row seats are terrible. They have no side support at all. The designer had to keep second row seats extremely small to achieve stow-and-go. The glove box is even smaller than my sedan's. The MSRP is ridiculous. I visited some dealerships. I can easily get 5k USD off at most dealership for a new one.
Our kids rode in the second row seats for 8 hours straight and had no problem. They actually like that they are captain's chairs. The Pacifica is a great mini-van. I know because I own a 2019 Pacifica.
To each his own...but we love how our 2019 Pacifica looks! It's a great van! Looks far better than a lot of vehicles on the road these days...especially all other mini-vans.

Saw one today for the first time in parking lot . What a good looking vehicle!

by far the most real world detailed review i have seen to date, thank you ! put my deposit for the Hybrid today, i simply cannot wait !
Thanks for watching, Mathieu! Once you have the hybrid, please swing back through and leave a comment on how you like it.
I’m convinced to go van... was hesitating the Durango, but practicality is totally on different levels. Go van go dad
Go van dad, go!

If Chrysler's reliability ratings weren't so poor I'd seriously consider getting one.
Very Good I wish all these features were found in the Sienna
Yeah, they got low ratings because of the Town and Country's minivans that Chrysler triped over, but they came to change that forever in this one. Don't believe me, try one and it will be so different from the previous versions.

Consumer Reports recommends the Pacifica. Average reliability.
We got one, and it is AMAZING so I recommend it!!!
Not the hybrid though
What do you most like about it, Beth? Any beefs?
I driving a loaded one for a week- VERY nice!
I believe you can move your most used icons to the lower icon tray for ease of use instead of wading through the menus to find the features.
Great review!
The best family minivan in the world! And i love this name Pacifica!
Thanks for watching, Victor. It's certainly the most feature-loaded, most pleasant to drive minivan that we've ever driven.
Any updates, have you had any issues? Brake downs, etc?
Its nice for sure but the front ground clearance is way too low and no AWD.
Hi Paul. Like your channel. We have had an odyssey for 5 years and it's tough to give up a van esp with 3 kids. I would love to upgrade to the Pacifica however at this price point I would want an awd van for weeks like this one in Calgary.

I hear your, Alex... on all counts. Thanks for watching.
Family Wheels, how do you like the visibility around the A pillars. I've seen another review where they said they had issues with this. I'm real close to purchasing a minivan and have narrowed it down to 3, including the Pacifica (which is currently my top choice).
It's been a while since I did this review, David. I'm afraid I don't recall.
I personally don't understand the stigma/image issue with minivans. There is nothing more practical, convenient, and comfortable than a minivan. I feel sorry for all the sheep that are driving their families around in small to medium SUVs.
Especially, this one is CLEARLY a pick up truck in disguise or a RV?
I noticed your son is using latch in his car seat still. Most latch anchors are only good for up to 35lbs. Just wanted to make sure you know that since he looks like he might weigh more than that and would need to switch to using the seat belt to secure the seat. Thanks for the good review though. Hi Zach... the new Odyssey is on my list. Perhaps in the coming month! Keep your eyes peeled.
Why is it always goldfish...why is the sky blue... the mysteries of life.
Another great review. Thanks Paul!
Thanks for your ongoing views! Anything you'd like to see more or less of?
You are very welcome. Not really, I think you are doing a great job. However, maybe some more larger sedans like the Lincoln you had on the show a few weeks back. i.e Mazda 6, Honda Accord or a Toyota Avalon.
You got it. In fact, there's a hybrid Camry review coming within the next few weeks.
Great! Looking forward to another good review.

I hear you, Kelly. A strange oversight by so many companies! Thanks for tuning in.
It's so frustrating minivans are great for growing families but they need to open up to the AWD market. You are great though we love your reviews!
The reason is packaging, not cost. You would lose a lot of the space the the folding seats use if it were AWD.
The base option totally makes sense, but the $60K one? Only if XC90 did not exist, IMO :)
That was my takeaway too, Paul. But there were some great features in this higher Limited trim too. Very impressive interior in this van.
Hey Paul, sure it's a nice mini van But wow $63,000 & wait till a hybrid goes in it! Probably it will cost a extra $5000 & then your better off with the Metris from Mercedes? Nothing like having your pooch sitting shotgun, Stephen. Thanks for watching.

I'm sure there will be a lot of discounts relative to Honda/Toyota dealers.
Yes, Chrysler often has some pretty deep discounts at the dealer that should help realign price for buyers. Thanks for watching.
Let us know how it is after you've been driving it around for a couple weeks, Reed! Thanks for writing.
Family wheels are you going to test the hybrid version?
Perhaps in the coming weeks.
You are saying that chrysler lost an oportunity not having an all-wheel-drive thing, but then you said you asked Chrysler about that, and you said:
They made it all wheel drive ready.
So what do you exactly mean?
That it could be offered with AWD in the future but that isn't being offered as an option yet.
Great review. I have owned my Tusk White Limited for 8 months now and love it!!!! Check out a great group on facebook of these Chrysler minivan owners! facebook.com/groups/Chryslerminivans/
And more likely reliability same as Dodge Durango
Apples and Oranges.
I bet it smells like a new Chrysler/Dodge though...no bueno
Do you think new Chrysle's have a different smell to them, Torrey?! I hadn't noticed.
Family Wheels yes! Every one of them..like a rental car smell... 😵
For years I've noticed an odd and slightly off-putting smell to the leather interiors of Kias and Hyundais. it's been at least five years since my last car show though, so maybe it's been fixed
Smells great! I have a brand new 2019 Pacifica. My whole family loves it! Including the new car smell it has.
Well if you shop WELL you wil get 9,000 off MSRP! And the usd market is half price within two years!
@@michaelsmith9308 $9000 off the Limited. But not lower trims.
Our kids rode in the second row seats for 8 hours straight and had no problem. They actually like that they are captain's chairs. The Pacifica is a great mini-van. I know because I own a 2019 Pacifica.
ugly van...Top is high, rear is low, look out side from side of the car.
To each his own...but we love how our 2019 Pacifica looks! It's a great van! Looks far better than a lot of vehicles on the road these days...especially all other mini-vans.
