Don't know why this video of 5 years ago popped up, but I'm glad it did. I had never heard of this Ford truck and had no idea that all-wheel-drive was available in the early '50's. Thank you.
I bought 51 f-3 back in 1982. It was my daily driver for 8 years, hauled fire wood with it and 4 wheeling the Rockies. Still have it and was still running when I parked 25 years ago. Love these trucks.
Marmon - Herrington suspension and drive-line parts, an 8-foot bed and a Flat-Head V8 on a '52 F3... What's not to love about this thing? lol If I saw one of these in a scrap-yard, as long as it hasn't been used as a parts-donor, it's gonna be a "shut up and take my money" kind of situation.
What ? No shift on the fly ? Oh well. I just bought a 1955 f100 marmon Harrington yesterday. For 300 dollars.so I thought I better see what the heck I just bought. I hope mine turns out like this one. Awesome old truck.thanks for the upload.
Thank you!!! I really had fun with this one. I really enjoyed the collab w/ +MikesCarInfo on this one. Check out his channel - really great content. Thanks again for the positive feedback!
Me too. Must've missed a few grease and oil changes since '48 because my chassis is creaking, the air intake clogged and fuel pump seems to be failing.. Nice looking F3.
Wow ,much nicer then the 52 my neighbors had. It did have the original tires (and air) , and 26k on the clock. But she was no show queen, oh no. She's a farm truck they bought new. No brakes , even the parking brake is toast. If you wanna stop, turn the key off. The old man was a pro at ending up 6" from the elevator to unload the hay. At least the windshield is "intact". That flatty sounds good when you rev it out ,with the non existent exhaust. Seats are there , just move the blanket some so you don't get poked by a spring.
This is AWD. It's driven by all four wheels and has a "compensator" which allows the front wheels to turn faster than the rear wheels in a turn so it doesn't bind up. Notice on the dash it has a label for the shifter for compensator or "powerdrive" mode which disables the compensator.
I hate it when they say its a total restoration and then its not a factory battery if you google it theres companies that make retro batteries hello spend some cash
At least you got yer spelling right on the word tough this time... Guess that Ford commercial really stuck with ya huh? (In all these Ford truck vids this guy says the same thing)..ha ha
No, it's AWD, not 4WD. It's driven by all four wheels and has a "compensator" which allows the front wheels to turn faster than the rear wheels in a turn so it doesn't bind up. Notice on the dash it has a label for the shifter for compensator mode or "powerdrive" mode which disables the compensator.
This is how American made things when I was young, was American workers having American Pride, no cheesy plastic crap made by slaves for the comments Chinese
Sad that such an industry has ended ,,, distinctive, beautiful and practical design !!
My dad had a 1950 f2 that he drove from California to Indiana in 1970. It's still around today, my son's friend has it.
Truck is AWESOME. Where you find this stuff is mind blowing.
That's what a correct restoration looks like.

Sign hanging from Rear View saying "Do Not Start Vehicle" and they start vehicle lol.
What is the thing that is hanging down under the right side of the bumper at 1:36 ?
LOVE this truck; thanks for sharing!
I did not know the F Series started the Year I was born. That makes the series 72, coming up on 73 years and still going strong. Me, not so much.
Same here, my man! Not quite as "vintage" as you but getting there myself. Thanks for stopping by and keep on truckin!!
Me too. Must've missed a few grease and oil changes since '48 because my chassis is creaking, the air intake clogged and fuel pump seems to be failing.. Nice looking F3.

All Wheel drive meas it's always in 4 wheel drive which means it would have to have a Transfercase in the tansfer case..

Sweet truck
Where is the the terrain control switch.
cool as the other side of the pillow-awesome
Cool!!!
What did this truck sell for at auction, I have seen this truck for years and it's collection
That thing has more in common with a tractor than a modern pick up truck.
I would say modern trucks have more in common with family & luxury cars aswell as minivans.
Push button start in 1952? Nice
I KNOW! That's the same thing I thought, WAY ahead of it's time!
Marmon-Herrington made thousands of ford 4 x 4 trucks during WWII for US and lend-lease
fantastic
The body is a 51, but might be papered as a 52 a left over from the previous year
NICE TRUCK REALLY! IS IT FOR SALE?
Me enamoré...
Me too!!
To cool 😎
cant you read it says d not start on that tag
I hate it when they say its a total restoration and then its not a factory battery if you google it theres companies that make retro batteries hello spend some cash
Is this truck made for WORK?
Elegante
"Built Ford!"
Built tough!"
Ford Motor Company slogan
At least you got yer spelling right on the word tough this time... Guess that Ford commercial really stuck with ya huh? (In all these Ford truck vids this guy says the same thing)..ha ha

Wow
Geez, it's not AWD it's Four Wheel Drive. Nice restoration.
