I am doing this challenge at the minuet and i am on this decade coz i started not so long ago and the mam had triplets and had to care for them on her own while cooking cleaning and caring to the garden. They are now toddlers and i bet it only gets harder until they are kids although the house is small and hard to fit two people never mind 5. I only had three peoples things set up in the house then came three baby’s! Its was so hard but i think i can manage toddlers better than baby’s coz she NEVER and i mean NEVER got sleep unless she was passed out on the flood!
Hannah Cordukes Same, I have two babies right now and the sleep need of the mother is red 24/7 XD The good thing is that the mother has a sister that lives with them so she can cook and help in the garden...
Ummmmm even in medieval times they bathed more often than “a few times a year”. During the 19th century they would bathe at LEAST once a week, on Saturday’s so they’d be clean for church!
Oh, thank you for letting me know! A lot of the info I get for the history part of this LP comes from the internet, which can sometimes be unreliable! Thank you!
SimQueen no problem, I didn’t mean to sound condescending (it’s been a crazy month lol). I actually majored in history so if you ever have questions feel free to ask! I absolutely LOVE watching these LPs but sometimes the people drive me nuts with some of their commentary (yours was pretty common and not really frustrating since it is so prevalent, just thought I’d point it out) especially about things like corsets 🤣 women wore them for centuries! I assure you, if all of the misconceptions were true, women would NOT have worn them! Tight lacing was not a common thing at ALL! SOME of the upper class YOUNG, unmarried, women would do it but it was rare. Most pictures that people see of women with teeny tiny waists are actually edited in a VERY old version of airbrushing lol. I’ll grab you a link, it’s pretty interesting actually!
@@OctJean wow I didn't know that about the corsets! I do a little bit of research on each decade because I try to live their lives as realistically as possible but of course, I don't know it all! Haha thanks so much, I'm currently in the 20s which I actually find to be the most interesting decade of the challenge so far
SimQueen I’m actually named after my great grandmother who was a flapper in the 20’s! She had a career, owned her own business, was married 4 times, had children with 3 of her 4 husbands and even dated Mickey Cohen! If you don’t know who he is you should SO look him up! He was a mobster in early 20th century LA, fascinating man!
omg i couldn't decide on which video i should watch first from you 😅💛 they all looked so good and interesting! after a while, i decided to go with this AND NOW I'M HOOKED
YAY! I'm so glad you're enjoying it. This has definitely been the most popular series on my channel. I'm up to the 1920s now! Thank you SO MUCh for giving my videos a try
hi! i wanted to check out some new challenges to watch on youtube and found your playlist! i'm excited to watch this series and i'm very happy to see it's still ongoing :D
lol memories my first attempt at the decades challenge ended about 30 mins in when the woman died from burning to death first time she attempted to cook
You know what the best part abt being Hungarian is? We're not known for a lot of things, but what we are, are bad things. For example: we technically started ww1!! I mean not us directly... but our King did. And the country backed it! The prime minister didn't want it, but after being pressured to, he decided to allow Hungary to join... fun times... FUN. TIMES. "I don't know how they would've figured it out back then" Periods weren't an invention, so they would've figured it out by that There were signs that could've been an indicator: throwing up, mood changes, bigger stomach, random aches, swolling etc.
Were you playing off grid? I'm playing off grid and I can't have beans lol. Also my oven and cell phones don't work. You can buy seeds in the build menu, and if she's preggers and you click on the bed, the option to try for baby isn't there. In mine, she does most of the gardening and he only pitches in when she's too tired. He fishes, and builds in his workshop ( my challenge is, he's can only build one item per day)
You should add a cellar because back then many families had it to keep their food in until winter
I'm happy your doing this challenge again! Loved the decades challenge! And yes organize the garden by season
This is such a cool interesting challenge! I'm excited !!
I'm so glad you think so! I'm really enjoying it. Let me know what you think of the next episodes!

Had twins and was not expecting that for the first go
I absolutely love the Little House on the Prairie -house! So cute!

You can get the seed packages in build/buy
Oh right I forgot we could do that now
Just watched another persons Decades challenge and then found yours! Looking forward to seeing this progress, seems I have plenty to binge!!
I love this challenge, nevwr heard of it before! Decided to start from part 1 :D
I'm dying I started this challenge before watching this video and named the family Anna and James Miller 😅
Can not wait to binge this series :)
I actually discovered SimQueen when she did the Amityville Horror speedrun, and I instantly subscribed.
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy the decades challenge. I am currently playing in the 90s so it’s a long running series!
@@simqueen9945 no problem. I love the content!
Does anyone know how many baby’s its probably best to have in this time
As much as possible! Due to poor med tech. They had to pump out babies so they would have someone to inherit.
They usually had alot the average pilgrim Christian family can have up to 12 kids
A lot. Even if all boys. You have a 50/50 shot of losing your boys in war. So if you stop at 2 you may not have an heir.
@ICIEYT as many as u think u can handle lol

Hi I've just started this challenge and it such choas lol I am watching your series to give me ideas thank you for this I've got along way to go
You need a fireplace in that house to keep warm during the winter.

Hi I started it too (private) and I currently am in 1920
An interesting challenge
Just so you know you can actually buy the packets in build mode where the pots are located. :)
Back then, they only bathed once a month
Edit: They also always got up before sunrise and went to bed at sunset. This was so they could do chores
i for one enjoy laundry stuff
What lot in Newport is that on?
Midtown meadows
Did they have sprinklers back then? If so ur garden needs one to water lol
I don't think so but honestly with the new patch, gardening is way easier! I think Thomas will have plenty of time to garden
