Buying comics at an auction! Was it worth it?

- For the first time I went to a live auction to buy some comics. This auction turned out to be more of a hybrid live and online auction. See what I got and my thoughts on these type of auctions.

$30 for the Powerman and IronFist lot is excellent value. I paid more for about that big a run of PM&IF in that condition (including #50 #57 X-Men) back in like 1988. Well done.
Yeah I was surprised it wasn't as active. The other runs (H4H and PM) sold high so I guess I got lucky with those buyers spending up their money early.
I've got the moon night cover of that one of Marvel superheroes. Yeah mine has Moon night right in the middle with Hercules on the corner a couple others I can't remember right now I'd have to dig it out. LOL
Some of those look like a good cleaning and pressing would really help them come right up. Especially if you're going to get them graded and encased.
Yes I have the Spider-Woman cleaned and pressed now. I'll be sending that in for grading soon. Other than that I also added to the Power Man & Iron Fist books and now close to a full run.
Spider-Woman is definitely one you should get graded. The price is just keep going up and up on this and they're not going to stop for a while. If I had one it'd be there already.
ya and sell it before the web of spider movie comes out. cuz is gonna tank after that.
It's been 4 months so I think you realize you've done better than you thought. In my opinion. Yes some are bad but a good clean and press will bring it right up like I said. Make them books worth Mo Money! Lol. Thanks for the video I'm catching up on them, and I'll catch you on the next one thanks.
Thanks for catching up with my videos. I have a month gap before my last one because I had to recover from covid so it kinda knocked me off my schedule.
If u can manage your expectations and be cool with losing out to a whale, auctions are a great place to find value.
The key collector is great to find keys. Not value. That is so underrated with value. Almost every book I look for. The high is the current low most times. Again. Depends on the book. Lol I wish I could buy books for the price range on key collector
I agree. I rely on key collector on the fly when hunting and buying in a pinch. I like the UI. Usually I'll target prices that are low/mid for newer books and mid/high for older books. When I have to dive deeper into the value I use ebay sold and sometimes gocollect.
