Hi, it’s the horizontal thrust of the arms for exercise or have a practical purpose? I like the cat flap with step in the door

When you say "practical purpose", I assume you mean "direct combat application".
Because, for me, exercise has a practical purpose and, therefore, everything in Wuzuquan has a practical purpose.
As you can see, it is not an aesthetically pleasing system. So, when done well, it contains nothing that does not have a practical purpose.
Regarding that specific movement, I will cover that in my next video.

Drawing back needs to be forceful. The force of one movement gives rise to the next.

What is it you think this exercise is about?
There are different ways to practise the same movement, depending on what it is you want to develop.
In application, the 吞 Tūn needs to be forceful, but unless it is precise and well-rooted, it won't work.
This exercise emphasises the precision and rooting and works the rhomboids and trapezius (both concentrically and eccentrically) that provide the force.

@@williamlovett619 Of course, in the end, you have to be able to take that precision, stability and muscle tone and execute the 吞/吐 (Tūn/Tǔ) combination explosively, so you are not wrong about the application.
