What do you think of the paid Artspira+ subscription from what you've seen? www.brother-usa.com/home/sewing-embroidery/artspira *11/15/23 UPDATE:* Brother has just announced a change to the Artspira app! "Some of the feedback around Artspira was the inability to import your own designs in the FREE version of the app. We’ve heard from you and are actively updating Artspira to ensure all users can access this feature. So, starting on November 30th, users of the Free version of Artspira will be allowed to import any design and store up to 20 designs in Artspira (you can add and remove the 20 designs as you wish!). Artspira+ Subscription Plan users, the Paid version of Artspira, can store and import up to 100 designs. Basically, more storage!" Note: I used the free Signal app to transfer embroidery files from my PC to iPad/iPhone but there are certainly other ways of accomplishing this. I’m sure the mechanics of the machine will not be a problem- brother makes these machines and they are good. It’s all about the interface! The fact you MUST run the machine from the app is just so extraordinary I can’t even wrap my head around it! And that’s not even getting into the app issues. My mind is just boggled!
I will stick with old Babylock Ellageo I bought used. The things I like about the Skitch is the magnetic frame and the openness to do small items. But paying a monthly subscription to get all the features is a “no” for me. Thanks for your videos!
Thanks for doing this. I agree, I don't like that you can't use the machine to use purchased files without a paid subscription. Would you mind sharing where you got the monogram from? Love it!
I am underwhelmed with the designs on the app.. I haven’t upgraded to the paid version as the stitch jot in the uk until next year. I am with you inwouodnpeobs buy the machine if could use pes free
See I don't mind if they lock the digitized software in the app. That makes sense! You're paying for the program to create files and the community files. But being unable to upload files is trash... I'm sorry, the tool NEEDs to be functional and a glorified toy at this price point without the $13 US/$17CAN per month to run it. I'm curious if you can skip months understanding your account reverts to free and nothing is saved as a way for people that use the embroidery machine every month to save finances once all the other at-home models disappear from the market that are not slave to a app/program to be functional. Also the Digiting app not having a colour select... is really showing how it ignores the Brown... Brown is a VERY different colour, but the tone (level of light to dark) is being blended to the green is very boggling. Adobe Illustrator has a very old version of this detection and the lightyears are more sensitive and you can select the number of shades you want it to detect from a decade ago... it's only gotten better.
I do not think I will buy the machine until they improve the app - the user interface and the options available (designs & fonts). If I am going to pay monthly to use the machine I would like it to be worth the investment. Either way, the machine isn't available in Canada yet. I wanted to find out pricing as they often price our products much higher than in the US. Once it's available I hope they will price it competitively here as well.
In the app you can go back or forward in certain increments of stitches. I shot more videos yesterday and use this feature, so be on the lookout for those. They do take quite a while to edit.
IDK, I really like my friend’s PE900, the hoop size is what I want and with the cost of the Skitch and then the subscription that will have to be ongoing, I may as well just get the PE900. I already pay for a Cricut sub, which was not bad at 99 bucks outright, so don’t want to pay to subscribe to another thing.
Not bad! I'm considering buying this machine and the sublimation printer for personal use. The app seems easy to use. Thank you for your videos. I also don't mind the $13/month fee for the app subscription. Are you planning on buying the printer to review it?
We got ours today and so far we love it. I am really new to ordering, so I don’t know how to keep the bobbin thread from coming through the top. We loosen the tension but it still happened. So little confused about that is definitely a learning curve never did this before. Lol so if anyone can tell me how to keep the white thread on the bottom from showing all on the top, please let me know. Also, we did loosen the tension all the way and it still the white came through so I don’t know I’m just kidding I don’t know. Thank you.
Need a video to be able to update machine software to enable WiFi from Artspira. Nothing transfers via WiFi until you have the latest version on your embroidery machine 🤷♀️
The designs in the paid app look Meh....At this point in time I would not be interested in this machine. I have only an iPhone and a MacBook and its difficult to find a wireless embroidery machine that will work with my MacBook.
If you use MySewnet software it will output files for any embroidery machine type, Works on Mac and PC. PFAFF AND Husqvarna Viking wireless 😊machines work with MySewnet
Thanks for doing this. This is garbage. For the price + 1 yr subscription cost, you could buy a nice 4x4 "regular" embroidery machine or a used larger format machine. Thanks again!
I feel like you, underwhelmed with the free version of Artspira. It sure wouldn’t be worth spending more for a subscription.. brother is a little over the top for cost on most things they sell including this.

I would be interested in this machine if it came with a 5x7 hoop.
Thank you for the thorough walk through
Jen can you embroider a cap on your channel be super interested how it goes !??

On the app Artspira can u download digitized photos from there
Thanks for doing this. I agree, I don't like that you can't use the machine to use purchased files without a paid subscription. Would you mind sharing where you got the monogram from? Love it!
Be interested to see a pre made item eg makeup bag done on it 👌

I'm interested in a 3 month review of this machine. Still not really sold on this machine.
I wonder if you could do puff embroidery
can you do the new singe/embroidery machine please would be lovely to see that machine usage in both sewing and embroidery.
I have a question new to sewing, what the difference between the se 700 and 725 is it the app that's included that makes newer machine experience?
Quick question 🤔 those small circular embroidery sets could I take a picture, upload it and then the machine can embroider the exact design?
imo you can't use the same premade designs on multiple fabric types without changing the design settings ie. underlay, density, push/pull compensation
Can you Export files other than to a machine? If I wanted to save file and and change to a jef file?

What happens if your thread breaks? Can you go back a few stitches and restart?

If Brother could make a magnetic hoop like the Skitch has, but in a 5x7 for the PE900, I'd be thrilled!
I am still trying to figure out why would someone buy the Skitch when the PE900 would be a better value and do more?
I’m not interested in the machine know because monthly payment 😢

Dont my mother has it. it is a lemon
Probably not, the printer seems expensive for what it is and I haven't really dabbled in sublimation printing, sticking more to sewing & embroidery.

Very helpful. Thank you.

Will not pay for any subscription, the machine is expensive enough to do the job. All the company just getting greedy is a scam.
TRUTH! Am so sick of this new corporate mantra "you will own nothing and be happy".
Thanks for this review!
The designs in the paid app look Meh....At this point in time I would not be interested in this machine. I have only an iPhone and a MacBook and its difficult to find a wireless embroidery machine that will work with my MacBook.

Thanks for doing this. This is garbage. For the price + 1 yr subscription cost, you could buy a nice 4x4 "regular" embroidery machine or a used larger format machine.

Since the imported file is already a pipes file that is for brother machines go figure.
I feel like you, underwhelmed with the free version of Artspira. It sure wouldn’t be worth spending more for a subscription.. brother is a little over the top for cost on most things they sell including this.
The designs on Artspira look so juvenile to me. I find them highly unappealing.
