Peasant and 2020 are both fucking unreal albums, obviously, and I hope they lead people to The Magic Bridge. That's how I got there. Such an insanely poignant album.
Amazing. His voice cuts to the heart like Nina Simone or Etta James, his songs and guitar playing are startlingly singular yet accessible. I saw him last year: it was magnificent, one of the very best of the many, many gigs I've been lucky enough to see.
Amazing raw talent!!! I was thinking why isn't this guy more famous but actually its the fact that you're not so famous(commercial) that makes it special. Just a bloke doing exactly what he wants. Much respect to you sir!!!
love every word hes ever sung n every note hes ever played,, awesome songsmith indeed... gets better with age like posh wine!!! we wanna support him!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Amazing. His voice cuts straight to the heart, like Nina Simone or Ella Fitzgerald. I saw him last year and it was one of the very best of the many, many gigs I've ever had the privilege of seeing.
My first love would be a lil shook if she knew how much she affected my life... Maybe a lil creeped out TBH It was kind of long ago. But I was a hateful and cynical young artist. I was... But she filled my heart with love. I always drew blood guts, entrails and organs. I was always fighting in school, and just struggling in general to exist. Long story short.... we couldn't be. but she had changed me so much, and I'm so grateful to have been with her for those 3 years of my life. I know I can love because of her. I'd always come to see her when she would tell me she shouldn't be alone. No matter how much I went through, I'd always go to be with her to hold her and help her feel safe. In spirit she's still my girl., she doesn't need to know it, for it to be true. This song really gave me that feeling.
In general, the verse goes D A D G D A D and the chorus goes A D A D G D Bm A D. The changes are pretty easy if you follow the song, but all of the different strumming patterns and embellishments will be up to you!
Was sent this link tonight by an old friend (whose band have actually made the cover feature of The Wire in the last coupla years FWIW) as an example of how weak and tame what gets labelled 'underground' music is nowadays. This is a very poor performance from Richard Dawson both musically and vocally, and seems entirely emotionally fake and phony to me - like a pseudo-arty and inferior version of Ed Sheeran.
How jaded, arch, up yourself, more outre than thou can you possibly be to be unmoved by this? Music is not a competition to enjoy the most obscure things possible. Pray tell us what we ought to be listening to instead...
Thank God for Richard Dawson's exceptional talent, what an incredible song.

A throwback from a time before. A troubadour of old for today.

anyone know/tabbed the chords being played? is there a special tuning at play?
His tuning is a regular E major chord (022100) but the whole thing brought down a tone (DAD...)

detectiveinstinct what the fuck
1) Brag with weight, name the band, and let us be the judge of how untamed they are
2) Downrate this video, and make it two in six years
detectiveinstinct aye, nice trolling, well done
