Well said about K-Rail. We should consider high speed train instead semi high speed.
There is a reason for choosing Semi high speed instead of High speed. We have to consider the time a high speed train takes to achieve its full speed (400+) and the number of stops inbetween. Hence Semi speed is ideal.

@@rameesali In Kerala, the cities en route the alignment are developed and the trains need to stop at all the 11 district headquarters or activity centres to give maximum benefit for the travelers. The average distance between the stations is around 50 km. In a high-speed rail network with trains running at 350 Kmph, a train has to travel around 20-25 Kms from start to reach the speed of 350 Kmph. Also for stopping a train, a brake has to be applied at a distance of five kilometers before the station. So effectively the distance traveled by train at 350 kmph is considerably less and we are not effectively utilizing a high-speed network in a major portion of the network. Stopping only at alternate stations may help to achieve speed but will not be beneficial to travelers resulting in lower traffic and affecting viability. In Kerala we have found that the average trip length is around 200 Kms, ie the majority of the people are traveling only for a distance of 200 Kms. The time taken to travel 200 Kms in a high-speed network is just above one hour and in a semi-high speed system, it is one hour 25 minutes. Hence time saved is not substantial compared with the capital cost of construction. For constructing a high-speed network at 350 Kmph, the cost of construction will be twice compared to the semi high-speed network and accordingly, the ticket fares will also be doubled in the range of Rs.5 to 6 per kilometer, which may not be affordable to a large section of the traveling public. @@abhisheksujanan8318 so you're relying on K-Rail's info which at the moment can only be best described as dubious in nature. Remember it's this same org which is claiming on completion of this project within 5 years and at 65000 Cr.
Now let's analyze this a bit further.
For arguments sake let's consider the average distance between stations as 50km, trains running at 350kmph and E5 Shinkansen trains(Same that will be used in Mumbai-Ahmedabad HSR and tops out at 320kmph).
The train has an acceleration of 0.48 m/s2 comparable with other HSR.
Assuming that you've completed 12th grade with the knowledge of some basic math you should be able to derive the distance and time taken to reach 350kmph i.e under 10 km(not 20-25kms) and 3 mins and deceleration to full stop takes less than 5kms.
So that means of the 50 km distance it only takes 15 kms to accelerate, reach top speed and come to standstill which leaves 35 kms to run at full speed for around 10 mins which actually works out.
The only thing that restricts the use of HSR is the cost which may be double the current estimate i.e 65000Cr. But do consider that this is bound of balloon to 120000 Cr(as per NITI Ayoog) which again is similar in costs compared to Mumbai-Ahmedabad HSR.
I'm of the opinion that for meeting the travel needs for the next 50 years, it's best to upgrade the existing system to higher speeds and capacity. It won't definitely be as expensive as a new greenfield project and trains from rest of IR network can utilize it and will leave open an option for a better HSR in future.
IR is already in works of upgrading many sections to 160-180kmph.
Constructing a new semi-HSR(200kmph) system from scratch at such an exorbitant cost is waste of tax payers money. Don't be blinded by the propaganda.
In Kerala there are 4 International airport and 2 International airport near by state one in Karnataka at Mangalore and other one in Tamilnadu at Coimbatore in Kerala most of the long serving route bus are not economical as per the report only below 7000 people's are traveling to Kasaragod to Trivandrum on daily basis 10 to 20 charter flight from Kannur or Mangalore airport is good enough to fulfill the needs of long route commuters from Kasaragode to Trivandrum Kerala is less urbanised state at present Kochi metro and KSRTC is running on loss I think Krail is not Socialy and Economically viable project in Kerala

I hope our authorities and leaderships do the needful..as it's not just for us but for the future generations who need better facilities for advancement and progress. I believe a majority of Indians are lacking foresight or we're not making enough efforts to create better living conditions for next generations. Here also we use a lot of bicycles in daily life. There are even underground Bicycle parkings in the Belgian town where I live. Trains are faster in Belgium and The Netherlands. Ordinary trains goes from 80 to 110 kms per hour, stopping at every station only 3 to 5 minutes. So, it is easy to travel to places, even to other Schengen countries. I go to the Netherlands, Germany and France sometimes

In Kerala there are 4 International airport and 2 International airport near by state one in Karnataka at Mangalore and other one in Tamilnadu at Coimbatore in Kerala most of the long serving route bus are not economical as per the report only below 7000 people's are traveling to Kasaragod to Trivandrum on daily basis 10 to 20 charter flight from Kannur or Mangalore airport is good enough to fulfill the needs of long route commuters from Kasaragode to Trivandrum Kerala is less urbanised state at present Kochi metro and KSRTC is running on loss I think Krail is not Socialy and Economically viable project in Kerala
