    You guys are such a great team! My cousin had twins 10 years ago, she was a single mom, worked full time, and lived in a 3rd floor walk up, no clue how she did it!

    LOL @ how we raised twins 20 years ago. We didn't have any of the above mentioned products but I'm glad that you do so that you can enjoy the newborn stage. Us OG's didn't know any different.

      Yeah, I told my mom I wasn't going to cloth diaper when I have a baby and she said yes, she remembered it being a hassle all the safety pins, rubber covers and boiling diapers. I showed her how we cloth diaper today and in my area we have a cloth diapering service so just use and they deal with the cleanup and drop off fresh diapers weekly. She looked at me and told me I was weak and don't know how easy I have it. So now randomly she just looks at me and says, WEAK! I think I am going to have to cloth diaper if for no other reason to earn my mother's respect back.

    I'm a believer that there isn't many wrongs in parents decisions bc what might be your way might not be for someone else does that mean your way is wrong (no) do you guys that's all that matters! I didn't cosleep but my kiddos did sleep in the same room (for way longer than probably recommended) lol love watching y'all! Tons of love

    I also just had an IVF baby and have loved following you in conjunction with my own journey :) Have you heard of the book Secrets of the Baby Whisperer? It goes along the same schedule as Babywise (except for it also includes "you time"- only a mom would think of that!) and also has helped us TREMENDOUSLY in trying to decipher what our baby's cries mean. I truly don't know how people parented before that book was published! :)

    I had a baby with reflux as well and nothing worked better than Dr. Brown's bottles and sitting him up 20 minutes after eating! My "baby" is only 7 yet we still didn''t have a lot of this stuff just 7 years ago. I exclusively pumped for him (he was a preemie and never could latch) so like you, my pump was my best friend and went everywhere I went. I spent hours trying to figure out how to make holding that darn pump at my breasts for 20 minutes every 2 hours easier. Finally, I found this band with holes cut out of it for $40 from some tiny shop in Canada. It was the best investment ever! Now it seems they have really great bras for pumping! I'm so jealous ;) So glad they have made that easier for moms these days! I wish I'd had the owlet too! His reflux caused him to stop breathing on occasion so I was a paranoid mess! After a 3 day hospital stay to address that issue, we did end up getting a monitor that would go off if he stopped breathing while eating or sleeping (anytime else I could see it coming) but it was like strapping him to a cable box. It was crazy! I'm so glad you all have some of these amazing products now! I can see how helpful they are! They were much needed!
    I think you two are doing an amazing job parenting! You two work so well together and your precious little family is so sweet! Blessings to you all!

    I wouldn't worry about using too much gripe water! Both my babies had reflux and that made hiccups painful so I would give them some gripe before every single feeding! Couldn't have lived without it! Also, for sleep training I highly recommend the book, Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. As a first time parent, I found Baby Wise to be way too alarmist (I didn't really realized that till I had my second baby!). We sleep trained both our babies starting at 6 weeks and to this day, (they're 5 and 2) both are still amazing sleepers!

    Great video!
    Do you let Lyndle sleep over night in the rock and play? I only say it out of love because some babies have, unfortunately, passed away in them. It can make their necks lay in a way that they can't breathe. I loved them with my son (during the day) for naps. I started out letting him sleep in it because he had bad acid reflux, but once I read more, I stopped letting him sleep in it at night although he has always been in our room.
    You listed a bunch of awesome things. Those nursing/pumping bras are gold as well as the steam bags.
    Have you tried gas drops for Lyndle? I used those as well as the gripe water for my son and it was amazing for him.
    I am pregnant with #2 and have a 15 month old. Something I insist on getting this time is a Moses basket. I think it would help you carry the babies up the stairs if it would work with twins. I'm not too sure. That may not be safe with multiples. I'm glad you reviewed those girdles. I really want to try one this time.

    • @meiraloraduncan8953
      @meiraloraduncan8953 6 лет назад

      Ashley May You’re not supposed to carry your baby in the Moses baskets. The handles are just for ease of moving the empty basket. They typically aren’t made to hold more than one baby at a time.

    We are expecting twins in a week, and my husband and I are curious a few more details on the owlet monitor and using it with twins...do you have to download 2 apps, one for each device? What was the easiest way to use the owlet monitors for each twin? Do you just switch back and fourth when checking the app for each child? Any help or guidance with this system would be appreciated! Also-you are my favorite vlog to watch, I wish there were more couples like you out there! Such an inspiration to me as a soon to be twin mom! I have watched every video and am excited to stay updated with your family💕

      We have one app for one sock on Brads phone and one app for the other sock on mine. It’s the only way we’ve figured out how to do it!
      Congrats and good luck! Call owlet and they’ll give you a twin discount :)

    You both are adorable! I just wanted to say, the owlette, You don't want to be fussing about it at all. You are going to please, I beg of you, USE IT!! my adopted daughters 2nd son would have died if we weren't with him. Boys are lazy and if they block their airway they don't even bother to try to fix it. The age I have seen over the years is 4 mos for SIDS or what they say is sids. Watch those babies close for the first year. Keep that monitor on them please, you have two precious breathing babies and you want to keep it that way. Keep that thing on them. JesseFam on youtube almost lost her little girl too and it was a feeling that saved her but she had stopped breathing. I implore you to love that monitor. Thats all. Just some grandmotherly advice.

      Kandi Ann Brewer I heard many mixed reviews about the owlet. It wasn't something we could afford, so we did without it... but I understand the importants of it for some people. I think my concern was how many reviews I saw that talked about all the false alarms and the unnecessary stress and panic they caused. Of course that could be from simple user error... but I'm already a anxious person, and I feared it would give a person like me, less peace of mind and just something else to stress; is the reading false? Should we be going to the ER, do I make a doctor's appointment, what do these numbers really mean?? I would never discourage any parent who felt more comfortable using one, from using it... especially families who have experienced close calls (like Jesssfam) and loss. However, one of my main concerns is that the owlet is not regulated by the FDA, so how does anyone know that the readings are accurate or that the device is safe? How often is an abnormal reading, read as normal or vice versa? The company itself does not guarantee this device will help prevent SIDs... which technically they can't make that claim anyway, without FDA approval. Also, abnormal readings could cause a parent to rush their infant to the hospital, which could lead to a battery of unnecessary test...based off the readings of a device we don't know is accurate 100% of the time. An American Academy of Pediatrics policy literally states, do not use these those devices as a strategy to reduce the risk of SIDs. They're not proven to work and could actually do more harm then good if parents rely to much on the device for peace of mind. Ultimately, it's up to the parents to decide what's best for them, but I encourage parents that think they want one of these devices to do a lot of research and talk to your pediatrician before investing in one. Just my thoughts.

    • @yvettepiercy4487
      @yvettepiercy4487 6 лет назад

      Kandi Ann Brewer yes, but I must say the big lesson to take from Jesssfam is that SIDS is often undiagnosed sleep apnoea. So keeping an eye on that and if you think they ever have any periods where they aren't breathing to get them checked for it, they were extremely lucky with Addy that they found her in time. You can do everything right to prevent SIDS but if they have undiagnosed sleep apnoea you can still lose them from what they would call SIDS. I think if you can afford to get an owlet its a great peace of mind and great for early sleep apnoea detection

    • @BradandRach
      @BradandRach  6 лет назад +2

      Thanks for the input! As far as the mixed reviews on false alarms - we haven't had any. There are different "alarms" for the sock being out of range or sliding off the baby's foot than there are for heart rate or oxygen level dropping.

    Hiccups are just air sitting on their diaphragm in a unusual way. That's why when you scare someone or take a drink of water it sometimes helps in stopping them. I'm sure hiccups do help with strengthening their muscles but I would think they really don't need the gripe water and it works instantly BC their sucking on the dropper and moving the air on their diaphragm. Try the dropper without the gripe water next time and see if you get the same result.

      Kim Parmer scaring works on getting rid of dog hiccups too, I use it on my dog's and it works everytime instantly. Wish they could use it on me too though lol

      I love it SO much!!! I’m pumping more milk and it’s very comfy, especially with coconut oil. It also angles the whole system down so if you lean back, milk doesn’t collect in the flange!

      Brad and Rach Hensley is just a week younger and I started pumping but like I said was like razor blades. So I stopped but now she wants to eat every hour to two hours at night so I wanted to start pumping again to up my supply and could use bottles at night so my nipples weren't getting so sore at night. So I wanted to thank you so much. We ordered them off of Amazon tonight. Our insurance only covers the pump. Love hearing all your tips and your journey. I know it takes alot of time out of your day. Also good luck selling your house it shouldn't be a problem it's so beautiful there. I also found out my abdominals separated too and have to reach out for pelvic floor therapy.

    not to be captain obvious... but once they start rolling from side to side... i wouldn’t leave them in the co-sleeper on the couch... if they roll in to the edge of the sleeper and lean too far it will eventually roll off the couch.
