- Nick and wife Erica tell their story of dealing with Nick's OCD as a couple. They chart the lows they experienced in the past and where they are now, while sharing some valuable advice on how to navigate the challenges that come with being a sufferer and a supporter.
This makes me wanna cry. This sounds so much like what my girlfriend went through dealing with me and my ocd. Thank God I've gotten better and my girlfriend stuck through. She's the real MVP .
Fighting OCD is like fighting something very dark that’s after your soul. The mental torture is unbearable.
God bless your wife for her support during your darkest times. 💗
No matter how bad you think it is, it’s never unbearable ❤️
Your explanation is spot on.
Thanks so much for being so open and vulnerable. God bless you both.
Massive, massive love for you both! This video is going to be a game changer for anyone who watches this!

Been struggling with some stuff similar to this, matter of fact... it might actually be OCD- I haven't been diagnosed cuz I don't have money, but I've overcome ALOT on my own. I'm proud I've done that much, anyways.. hearing stories like yours, running into channels like yours, always makes me feel a million times better about my own struggles. Cuz I know I'm not alone♥️
Bless you all!
That's so amazing to hear my friend! Best of luck
Thank you so much for your openness and posting this! Really helpful xx
You are MORE than welcome :-) Thank you so much for the support!
Fantastic video 👍 some excellent points from both of you
I deal with OCD as well. Things I do compulsively especially when I get anxious. It’s a pain but hasn’t gotten to the point where it really takes over my life. Nice to hear other people talking about this. Right on man!
thankful for this msg and y’all!!
Very good nick, you have a great way of delivering information,a lovely supportive wife and I believe you will help change lives.

this helped me !!
I need help for my brother. He is suffering from OCD since 2 years and her wife has decided to take a month break. It is a really tough time for him and I want to help him. He is on meds for 1 year and has recently started exercising. But I really want to keep him motivated. I am skeptical if he will try to read books. Really. I need help for him.
Hey friend! The first thing I would recommend is watching the videos on Rob's page. My wife will be posting a lot more videos for sufferers families so that will help too! I know it can be so damn frustrating but ultimately he has to make the choice himself :-) BEST of luck, seriously
Look where you are at today Nick, how did you do it?? Very good video.
Literally not even being sarcastic here... I need to get me someone that looks at me the way your wife looks at you
She's been amazing! I am very fortunate!
How can I get over the contamination ocd of boogers. I am seeing boogers everywhere I want to clean everything.
So proud of you Nick! Erica you as well what an inspiring story 👏 ❤
Thank you for the video. So would you say you were suffering from suicidal ocd? What helped you lose the fear over these thoughts?
Hey friend! I did not have suicidal ocd because I am not afraid/ nor have I ever been afraid of death! What helped me get over the fear of sensations was realizing everyone has weird sensations and my exaggerated perspective of these sensations was the only thing keeping me stuck :) hope this helps 👍
Thank you
@@thementalhealthexperience5581 .
How should one refrain from making the healthy activities (e.g. exercise as you mentioned) to become another compulsion or continuous distraction again?
Just do them in a balanced way
Nick has done a video on that called Productivity. Might help.
Sadra, this is a specific predicament I think about a lot too, and I just want to acknowledge you and recognize that that is an additional complexity to your own OCD that you deal with and maybe other people don’t realize. When the very actions that often help OCD can become an even bigger part of the suffering. So, I just want you to feel valid and heard in your struggle. I get you.
What Kind of OCD do you have . Is your live better now ?
Is your Quality of Life now the Same before OCD started ?
Sorry for my english
Gretting from Germany
Brother u married a Saint,,, just like me I have a very supportive wife,,,,,I cherish the grounds she walks on great video
avoiding people would be an avoidance compulsion right ??
I have debilitating OCD! If I don't check locked doors more than once, I am convinced that my family will die. Or, if I pick up an odd number of items (or the wrong item) in a supermarket - I'll turn into a pedophile and/or murderer.
I genuinely believe these thoughts to be true. If I have an intrusive thought, they will come true unless I do something repetitively. Even my suicide attempts were OCD. I slit my arms with a razor, and they weren't accurate cuts, they needed to be done a certain way otherwise I'd burn in Hell. If I cut my wrists and arms in this life, I won't be tormented in Hell. I am told Hell is not real, and I hope it isn't, but my OCD also convinces me that if I consistently wash my hands, and other body parts, the thoughts and feelings will go away.
Very lucky guy!
I def am! She's truly outstanding
@@thementalhealthexperience5581 I am really glad for both of you! This was a heart-warming video!

He is personally fixated with video games and vaping but that is not ocd
those were his compulsions, he's talking about somatic Ocd.
Dude did you even watch any of their videos at all? Video games and vaping were a compulsion.
Your wife is beautiful 😍
His wife seems like she has no understanding tbh and she just doesn't like the fact of him playing video games and blames it on his ocd
Hi again! My wife was concerned with fact I was playing 30 hours straight, and not working towards recovery! Have a good day!
Im sorry im all for someone getting better but this is ridiculous and spreading false information
We are sorry you feel that way!
