    This makes me wanna cry. This sounds so much like what my girlfriend went through dealing with me and my ocd. Thank God I've gotten better and my girlfriend stuck through. She's the real MVP .

    Fighting OCD is like fighting something very dark that’s after your soul. The mental torture is unbearable.
    God bless your wife for her support during your darkest times. 💗

    Been struggling with some stuff similar to this, matter of fact... it might actually be OCD- I haven't been diagnosed cuz I don't have money, but I've overcome ALOT on my own. I'm proud I've done that much, anyways.. hearing stories like yours, running into channels like yours, always makes me feel a million times better about my own struggles. Cuz I know I'm not alone♥️
    Bless you all!

    I deal with OCD as well. Things I do compulsively especially when I get anxious. It’s a pain but hasn’t gotten to the point where it really takes over my life. Nice to hear other people talking about this. Right on man!

    I need help for my brother. He is suffering from OCD since 2 years and her wife has decided to take a month break. It is a really tough time for him and I want to help him. He is on meds for 1 year and has recently started exercising. But I really want to keep him motivated. I am skeptical if he will try to read books. Really. I need help for him.

      Hey friend! The first thing I would recommend is watching the videos on Rob's page. My wife will be posting a lot more videos for sufferers families so that will help too! I know it can be so damn frustrating but ultimately he has to make the choice himself :-) BEST of luck, seriously

    Thank you for the video. So would you say you were suffering from suicidal ocd? What helped you lose the fear over these thoughts?

    • @thementalhealthexperience5581
      @thementalhealthexperience5581 3 года назад +3

      Hey friend! I did not have suicidal ocd because I am not afraid/ nor have I ever been afraid of death! What helped me get over the fear of sensations was realizing everyone has weird sensations and my exaggerated perspective of these sensations was the only thing keeping me stuck :) hope this helps 👍

    How should one refrain from making the healthy activities (e.g. exercise as you mentioned) to become another compulsion or continuous distraction again?

      Sadra, this is a specific predicament I think about a lot too, and I just want to acknowledge you and recognize that that is an additional complexity to your own OCD that you deal with and maybe other people don’t realize. When the very actions that often help OCD can become an even bigger part of the suffering. So, I just want you to feel valid and heard in your struggle. I get you.

    I have debilitating OCD! If I don't check locked doors more than once, I am convinced that my family will die. Or, if I pick up an odd number of items (or the wrong item) in a supermarket - I'll turn into a pedophile and/or murderer.
    I genuinely believe these thoughts to be true. If I have an intrusive thought, they will come true unless I do something repetitively. Even my suicide attempts were OCD. I slit my arms with a razor, and they weren't accurate cuts, they needed to be done a certain way otherwise I'd burn in Hell. If I cut my wrists and arms in this life, I won't be tormented in Hell. I am told Hell is not real, and I hope it isn't, but my OCD also convinces me that if I consistently wash my hands, and other body parts, the thoughts and feelings will go away.
