I live in rural QLD, near the local hospital, & the number of RACQ LifeFlight helicopters that come in & out perfectly sums up rural healthcare... if it's anything halfway serious, you're choppered to somewhere with proper staffing.
Country people get a bit of duct tape and a tissue for a gaping wound as they don't want to trouble the doctor, City people are at the doctor if they fart a bit funny.
Dr's in the bush...its all about $$. Couldn't give 2 $hits about your health..Same with the Flying Dr, started out well, now they're flying half way around Australia for a ingrown toenail because there's big $$ in it. It's a fact of life, the further away you are from any service you are , the less yar gunna get !
