Right from the start of the video, I liked your off-the-cuff, pure goofin’ reaction style. In-depth analysis has its place, but sometimes I wanna have a good time with a friend, showing them a video, and you carry that energy.
Okay, this is officially my favourite reaction to this musical, I love how you immediately get into character as someone hanging around the bar to take a census, it really adds something to the experience. Also the whole speech to Byron Brimstone about how humans have the advantage in numbers and character is absolutely hilarious, given that Fallen London actually just straight up went to war with Hell awhile before the game starts, and they got their asses kicked so thoroughly that only the most aggressively religious want to try again by the time your character gets down there. It's not like they're even doing anything; they just buy souls so they can make stuff with them, it's their whole job. Trust me, there's much worse things in the Neath - one specific entity is capable of staining your soul so badly that attempting to sell it will make a devil weep in horror and refuse the contract. And if you already have a contract (or use a seasonal loophole to sell your soul anyways), then the second devils see you they'll immediately assemble a massive hunting party just to run you down and forcibly shove your tainted soul back into your body (then rob you blind for the inconvenience). As one does. Honestly, everyone wants to avoid those who are Seeking; there's no harm you can inflict upon a Seeker that they aren't already going to inflict upon themselves. Besides, they have a tendency to do horrible things to their friends, even worse things to their enemies, and their endless hunger can drive them to some... interesting lengths. Cannibalism is an acquired taste, but my god have Seekers ever acquired it. Best to just stay out of their way.

In a few years, he'll have to start wearing mummy wrappings, and eventually emigrate to a tomb-colony. Mask of the Rose is a visual novel set in the early years of Fallen London. The first game is a card-based browser game set in the city itself. The second game, Sunless Sea, is a roguelike game of exploration and seafaring -- sorry, I mean zeefaring -- through the terrifying darkness of the Unterzee.
11:10 thats mr pages right there lol. Pages is one of the master that is mentioned at the beginning of the song and loves using complicated or fancy words, sometimes they even make up words by combining 2 similar words.
And Mr. Pages is the only character in the musical that Stupes didn't make up (you won't come across Harry, Robert, Cassie, or Byron in Mask of the Rose; unless Failbetter adds them in some expansion)

The Queen made a deal with 'The Masters', to help the King live longer, and in exchange, The Masters would get control over London. They were the ones that caused London to fall through the Earth, in order to have more control over it's people by restricting them access and communication with other places. 2:50 : "Day of Wrath" is referring to when London was taken control of by The Masters. He describes historical buildings falling as London was lowered into the Earth. 3:22 : Another reference to The Masters control. 3:35 : The Masters changed and outlawed many things after taking over, especially things that would remind people of London's previous history before Them. One of these is Signs around London, this is because The Masters renamed everything after the takeover, and the signs contain names of what places used to be called. The maps don't work now because they still have the names of all the old places. (The maps are also illegal because of the old names). 6:25 : Referring to Her Majesty, The Queen, and how she is sitting back allowing The Masters to do whatever they like, as London gets more poor and her citizens are suffering. 7:41 : Byron Brimstone, a play on the words "fire and brimstone", is a fancy demon. Not much to note about his specific character since most demons are quite alike in motive. However, it should be mentioned that when London fell through the Earth, they landed just East of Hell (as if it were a physical location you could just reach). The demons have taken it upon themselves to work with The Masters, in order to conduct a thriving business in London, and mostly monitor currency, but are constantly trying to convince Londoners to sell their souls as well. Most demons are the fancy sort, just like Mr. Brimstone. (The green/red things you see in the bottles are actually souls! They provide background vocals for him in this song). 11:01 : And here we meet one of the many Masters! Mr. Pages! (They all have similar names, Mr. Wines, Mr. Cups, etc. They all look identical too.) Not much is known about The Masters true identities or Motives, but they are said to be shady creatures that bare some resemblance to Bats (a very important animal in the game). Many of the words Mr. Pages says are a mish-mash of two words they've put together that creates a more dramatic version. Mr. Pages is The Master of all things literature, and has a specific interest in Love Stories, although no one is quite sure what malicious reason this might be. Here, they can be seen watching over the Londoners in the song, with the other Masters in the dark behind them, with backup vocals. In the song, it implies that they are using "Love" and similar emotions, in some kind of plot they are planning. No one knows what, but it likely isn't good. 13:10 : Harry mentions he's been dead for about a week. Time, Death, and Many other things work differently in the Neath. You CAN permanently die, but you'd have to be trying very hard to purposely do so. There are characters in Fallen London known as Tomb Colonists (think like zombies and mummies except they can think normally). There's a rule in London, when you die, you usually get back up, and you're allowed to stay in London and go about your business, that is until you start rotting. Luckily Harry hasn't begun that process yet, but once it does occur, you're bandaged up and sent to live with other dead people just like you. This isn't always permanent either, and often you'll find yourself back in perfect health in the future if you look for ways to reverse your death. That's all I'm aware of!! I hope this helped!
