- Would YOU Date Her? I did, and it was awful. Find out why in my latest review of Needy Streamer Overload. D*pression, anx*ety, feelings of inadequacy, a thirst of validation sparked by a troubled upbringing, this Needy Girl is really messed up, yo
Patreon: tinyurl.com/No...
Ame is one of those characters where i like her as a character bc of how interesting she is but if i knew her irl i would fucking hate her lmao
A good protagonist is a well written protagonist
Ik, I Want to hug Ami, yet beat her senseless. She's litterally "I hate you...but I love you...but I hate you..."
Im basically just like ame except the drug part, idk how to feel about this
@@naxnamiiyou should feel ashamed lmao
@@dratinibrah i am💀 But i do have my reasons
I never realized she was an “abusive, manipulative e-girl” character.. I thought that she was a girl that was struggling with a lot of mental issues who formed a different kind of identity to try and fulfill her need for approval and validation. She sometimes messaged P-Chan about her parents and the effects of her experience in society as well as her being very over absorbed into the internet. I don’t really understand if that was her view and thats why ame insulted her viewers as nerds instead of viewing them as equals. Is that what real streaming culture is like? It seems really realistic but I thought it was a severe exaggeration.
Definitely some exaggeration
Are you blind how could you not see she wasnt?
It's a great analysis on her character, so I agree. But they're mutually exclusive. Abusive, manipulative on the surface. Feelings of inadequacy beneath. So her trauma caused her to be abusive and manipulative.
Maybe I leaned too hard on holding her responsible for her actions, though, rather than deep diving into her psyche. I'd have to rewatch the video.
I know for sure, if I made the video today, I'd try to discuss both her development as a person and her actions equally.
@@RandomPerson28337 i guess, blinded by personal experience? It depends on your perception of things I guess, but I was weirded out and confused seeing how people play this game on streams. Not that you have to be super empathetic, but I was somehow confused to see how this made her an ill intentioned person (I say this now not having played the game in months, so sorry if I'm just failing to remember on that.)
She is also talking to herself this whole time... P-chan is herself. So this e-girl is much more ill than anything to self validate herself but I still question how she blocks herself to sleeps with herself
As as far as I know,
Ame shows almost every sign of BPD
Like constant need of approval and validation to the point she changes her whole personality, mistrust, self destructive behaviour like dr/g abuse, SH, social isolation, etc
Anyways good video
as someone with BPD, I agree
Don't forget to mention their need for sex all the time
The best ending is decreasing her mental darkness to zero, at which point she realises she doesn't need others validation and touches grass.
How do i get it

What's up, Mac. Glad you enjoyed it
CJ is from gta san andreas but yea
I never knew CJ was in liberty city. Now where is stephanie that sucks like a vacuum…
I'll try my best to clear up the Save 0 ending for ya, buddy:
First and foremost, the secret.txt file was written _long before_ Ame started streaming, so you're the latest "P-Chan" she'll ever have. All the note does is reveal that you're not real.
Second, her going through the career with her own choices is probably just her speedrunning the game.
Also, she says she doesn't need the player anymore, so she doesn't depend on an imaginary friend to ease her loneliness, so creating another imaginary friend no longer makes sense.
^ was about to write this, thank you for doing it for me.
In my head canon, I am real as an outside entity.
She thought I'm just an imaginary friend and all P-chan's decisions were actually her own.
But, in fact, it's I made her think that way.
I'm the God and the Devil who manipulated Kangel to light and darkness in multiple endings.
P-chan is real, there's one ending she literally kill the Player.
@@davidarvingumazon5024she breaks the monitor which is technically killing "p-Chan" There never was a player, shit she even talks about buying toys to pleasure herself.
Ame is a product of modern expectations and poor acceptance
You can feel bad for her and even try not to torture her ass, but do not sympathise with her behaviour, rather extract a message her character portrays:
"Never go for anything absolete, you may fall down climbing this high"
It may be hard, due to subject of "childish thinking" existing from ancient times, but trying never hurts
but shes just like me fr
except the drugs ofc
It's not Amy, it's Ame. Pronounced "Ah-may," meaning "rain" or "candy" depending on how it's spelled
Edit: I noticed somebody said the same thing. My bad.
Haha, I'm learning Japanese; trust me I know. It was a combination of Americanizing the script - but mostly laziness and insecurity. Re-recording lines for a video of this scale sucks almost as much as my Japanese pronunciation :P
This is actually the 2nd time I've seen someone say Amy instead of Ame... sadly
Well, he does pronounce it correctly as well in the video
The thing is P-Chan turns out to be an imaginary friend. He dosen't exist you're just playing Ami's alter-ago and coping mechanism; so the blocking ending is good; she's moving past it.
How does she have [___] then...?

@@inf_infinity9681she jorks it

I would have preferred to ignore that 😅
I’d like to throw this out there: the ending (Un)happy End World has a second version. If you turn off your internet setting on the device you’re playing the game on, the ending will change to Happy End World. However, it isn’t classified as a “separate” ending. For some reason it still uses the same slot as (Un)happy End World. I found that out the hard way, but I got this ending on accident anyway because my power went out as I was about to get it. I was playing on switch, and I had swapped over to handheld mode to play while waiting for the power to come back on. 😑
You cant be streaming when getting happy end world

*probably* had a terrible upbringing? It's explicitly stated in the game that her childhood was awful, though this was admitted by Ame who has no issues about lying but that one part i feel like she could not lied about.
Also spoilers
But the endings where she leaves P-chan i actually kind of see as good endings considering that adults shouldnt have imaginary friends
Or should they? *Moon Men plays*
why they shouldn't? it's good for them if they do. when you're an adult your imagination gets worse, so if you have an imaginary friend it makes you train it
@HellWaffen, don't extrapolate your own problems onto characters who have never been said to have them.
@@shikuhime It’s probably because having an imaginary friend as an adult and playing into the delusion that they’re real, even when you know they aren’t isn’t healthy. Just having an imaginary friend as an adult is fine. It’s the same as having a sona (in my personal opinion). When you start treating an imaginary friend as real - especially as an adult - that’s when it becomes unhealthy.
@@crazyminegamer2339 what do you mean "treating them as real?" ame literally speaks of p-chan as of an item that can be replaced in the true ending, yes she replies to her own messages but I genuinely don't think she thinks he's real.
I think the best possible ending is the secret one, myself:
SPOILERS
You have to get the "(Un)Happy End World" ending, but DISCONNECT YOUR ACTUAL FUCKING INTERNET BEFORE THE FINAL DAY. THIS GIVES YOU THE "HAPPY END WORLD" ENDING.
This game is fucking insane.
Damn.
Can’t you just turn Offline Mode and play the game that way?
(This is for Steam purpose.)
wait really that works? need to try it
The fact that the text messages come through a parody of LINE called Jine gives me a bit of ptsd met a person who talked through that kind of a similar mindset on the fictional character oh boy
I always hoped for a deep dive into this game from a youtuber but I never expected this high level of quality. Thank you for the amazing video, I hope it blows up more!
This game is more realistic than people may think.
yes, Kangel is so well written!
another point to the whole p-chan is made up thing is that the app where you see ame in is called a webcam... webcams pull from the computers own camera, it's not something where you can see someone else like apps like zoom or skype.. that's why it made immediate sense to me when she broke the computer screen and she's reflected in it - p-chan/player is just in her computer and controlling just that aspect of her life.
all in all, very good video! though to be honest the constant choice to say amy instead of ame really got on my nerves 😭 glad i pushed through and finished the vid but it was a little hard lol
amazing video, loved how deep you went into the game
Thanks, Josh
THIS VIDEO IS SO INCREDIBLE !!!!!!!!!!!! ^A^
I've been wanting a breakdown of this game for so long and this is so well done and edited,,
thank you for doing this messed up game justice !!!
Jesus christ you went all in with this huh.

@@NobilityBibulous Happy Holidays to you too!
Just got reminded and i forgot to ask, You mentioned having a good time with River City Girls in your scott pilgrim review, Any plans on playing RCG 2, or Reviewing it?
Ok ok whoa how'd we go from a quirky streamer simulator to making a literal statement about v tuber and streamer culture as a Whole great video as always dude keep it up
p-chan is herself you've been playing as Ame not "Amy" in this which explains the blood on the screen.
Also as for her sleeping with herself...I just think she is pleasuring herself... though, i dont understand how one blocks oneself?
I think the blocking is symbolic. She didn't literally 'block' us, because we aren't real, but she's blocking out all contact with the imaginary s/o she created. It's one of the healthier endings in that way.
It makes sense that the player is ame’s not real friend, because no matter what I did I always felt like I was the problem and that I enabled all of her bad behaviours
she just has bpd 😭
the thing about streams being so unengaging and (almost) risk-free is the fact this game is massive if you go for every ending
watching every stream closely would take too long so most of the time you just skip them for a little amount of stress points
trust me, I've been playing this game for ~20 hrs and it would take a lot longer if i had to engage in every stream
Man, I wanted to see cute girl doing bad things, not reconsider my entire relationship with technology
I tought the "secret.txt" was written before the start of the game, so the note is about the previous p-chan, that's why it's always been there
that makes sense didnt she complain abt pchan being too nice that might explain some of the more rude options pchan can choose
2:07 best ending fr💯💀
You are so fucking underrated wtf, the editing and video is of amazing quality! I don't agree with all ur points about the game, especially the true ending that I really enjoyed, but even then they're all sensible so I'm not mad about it lol
Overall a great video, I'm definitely subscribing to see more !!
Simply don't understand how you don't have 100,000 subscribers yet, one of the best videos I've seen in a while
I have serious problems. My first ending and the one I find easier to get is making her too healthy to stream.
Maybe because I have a story with abusive relationships and mental health, making Ame a alternative me in a way. In other worlds: I just want her to be happy and have self worth.
Anyway, it's amazing how this game portraits mental health. It really like having various stats through life that you have to micro manage in EVERY SECOND OF YOUR EXISTENCE. And then sometimes you discover that what you wanted wasn't what you wanted at all, just other people dreams that they gave to you [(Un)Happy Ending].
Anyway, Ame deserves love and hapiness
I also got confused with the cutting part, It was hilarious realizing I was cutting her instead of playing some undertale minigame
I found this game really interesting because the message in it is so fucked. Didn’t expect it to be so deep.
Just discovered you channel recently man, and honestly your content is something else. All these videos are so incredibly well made, and the comedy in them always hits. I really hope you continue making content. I hope its not too disheartening spending so much time on something like the RE8 vid, and not getting as many views as other youtubers do, because I think you truly have potential to blow up man. Very good video

One of the absolute best videos ive watched in a long time, please keep up the good work!
I thought this game was kind of alright in it's criticism of streamers, but the animated movie Perfect Blue is miles better at the same thing, it's a criticism of Idol culture in 90s Japan, which pretty much translates to modern day with streamers.
One thing you forgot to mention is that both streams and it's audience form a symbiotic relationship , where its thousands times more common that the audience is abusive by sheer numbers, stalking the idol, hacking their accounts or outright invading their private lives, again as seen in Perfect Blue.
found a underrated channel?? this video is great! love the deep intel
It's not the addictive personality.
It's not the constang negativity.
It's not the bipolar meldowns or even the impossibly high vapid standards.
It's that in every scenario where she breaks up with you, she's as cruel as possible. The ending where she moves out of your house to go get rich and famous with a company, promising that she'll always love you and be with you, just to smash cut to her fawning over someone more rich famous than you. That's it, that's the dealbreaker. That physically hurt my heart. Literally.
I was playing this game hoping to find a portrayal of a character who was at least as or more fucked up than myself.
And I didn't get that - which made me feel slightly more alone and isolated.
wow, so edgy!
@@bonbonnie8 Upon careful review, I've come to the conclusion that the original comment I wrote is about the least amount of edgy it could have been. It did carefully leave out any edgy details and wrote the most high-level version possible.

Imma be honest I found it pretty difficult to actively strive for the "interesting" endings. At some point you get used to it (all achievements god help me) but at the start I was very reluctant to make her stressed. I'm not saying anyone who doesnt is in the wrong, it IS the point of the game, it IS there to see.
However, even the worst people in the world deserve help, even Ame. In this relationship, both actors are toxic to one another, and I think its pretty hypocritical to blame Ame for her bad behaviour when you are the one controlling her. Yes, she's to blame for giving up control, but didnt you betray her in a way?
It's actually fairly easy to get an "uninteresting" ending such as the 0 stress one
i think its a bad thing how i relate to amy
its a very bad thing
it's ok i do too
One of the best videos I've seen on this game, surprised it doesn't have more views. I agree with most of the things said here (both positive and negative). I didn't get all the endings, as I actually felt complete after getting the happy world ending which in my opinion feels a lot better than the actual true ending. The true ending doesn't feel well thought out, (I mean how the hell does she do *** with an imaginary partner) but I was really satisfied with happy world, and I thought the game did an amazing job at both psychological horror and social commentary. This video really did a good job at pointing out parallels and taking a deeper look at the game, while maintaining a decent level of humor throughout.
further more how does she do pchan from behind dawg she made a tweet abt it
I recently came across this stuff and damn... I got the game and plowed through it as much as i could and tbh the game gives you small glimpses of Ame's life and backstory, but too disconnected for you to piece it together effectively.
Apparently, Ame was born in a poor family and while she was a child, she was sick. This put a strain on the family finances and thus her family suffered for it. As well, while she says her parents were good they didn't payed her attention. Whenever she spoke about things she liked or disliked, they payed her no mind. And because of her sickness, she got bullied at school by other kids. It was in her youth when she got into the internet and she begun to hate adults because they were hypocrites. They appeared mature and responsible IRL but on the internet they were not much different than kids discussing manga, books or tv series. Thus, she saw the internet as a place where everyone could be true to themselves and she loved it. She came to love "nerds" but at the same time hating them for being deluded.
Soon in her teens things got much worse for her. The fighting between her parents got worse and her mother tried to kill her father (she says she threw a knife at him). This culminated on divorce and her mother gaining custody but this made things worse since now there was less money at home. All of this made Ame more mentally unstable and she started going to therapy regularly. Combined with her visits to the hospital, this aggravated the bullying she got at highschool. She even says she was scared of going to class. And it was also at this time that Ame says her mother tried to push her into prostitution in order to bring money home.
With this, Ame runs away from home. All this horrible things make understand why Ame is like she is. She's a horrible, mentally ill, socially akward, self centered and drug addicted loser, but to a certain degree, it's a circumstance of her life that made her this way.
Your explanation for who p-Chan actually is makes a lot of sense. P-Chan being the ai or god controlled being that’s advising her choices fits with all the endings, and P-Chan can also be interpreted as PC for “player character” or as a computer.
Though the secret text at the end is a bit strange with the “create a new p-Chan” statement, I really think it was a note designed by the creator to inform players who loved the game enough to get all endings that they are in the process of making a new game that features marriage concepts.
I guess it could also mean that Ame is gonna download another AI that will give her a different kind of pchan players can access and engage with her on.
as a girl and drug addict called "Amelia" aka "Ame" with a borderline personality disorder, I feel very targeted by this game

Even as fucked as Ame is, shes still a charcater I cheer for. Even if she is a horrible person, who wants a rocky, unstable relationship, and further, life, I want to see her have a happy ending. Even in happy end world, it seems like she gets a happy ending of sorts, but its not very satisfying in truth. Maybe thats because we arent supposed to care, and thats the lesson, but I do wish Happy End World displayed more for her, what happens to her, and what happens to P-Chan. Though the secret.txt tells all that well enough-

I think the point of the game is criticizing the internet in general. The only good endings I see are ones where she doesn't join the internet, break the internet, or quit the internet (not out of stress). Yes, Ame is an unlikeable character, but to a degree you're supposed to pity her (which is why there are so many bad endings for her). Which is why on data 0, she quits at the end, having enough of the internet and leaving unscathed. And imo, as P-chan we're her mind playing through different scenarios.
Though I personally have to say, I think the secret text was what Ame wrote before the whole game. I think we, as the player, able to do horrible things to her, are the P-chan who isn't just nice to her and is marriage material, hence the last message more or less is a love letter to the player and a thanks for helping her.
Better ending for this is to touch grass.

p-chan that you play as isn't the p-chan that's nice to Ame all the time. p-chan is the character that Ame decided to create as a romantic partner.
The proof is the fact that secret.txt file existed b4 the ending. Meaning, the text you are reading has been there when you started the game, before the "true ending" even happened.
In the true ending, she takes life/choices into her own hands and takes responsibility 4 her actions. She isn't going to create a "new" p-chan. The player is the "NEW" p-chan.
Player is the p-chan 2.0.
p-chan 1.0 existed before the games start, but Ame didn't like p-chan 1.0.
The previous 2 vtuber streams Ive watched had no idolisation in them. The more recent one was by a young singer just yapping about stuff to a 100 people, the hour I watched it was about love. And did she pretend to be perfect here? lol no. She said how she believes you have to accept yourself before getting in a relationship with anyone, how she believes we live in the 21. century you can just ask out who you like even if youre a girl, how shes been rejected multiple times, how shes still good friends with those guys so doesnt get what the whole confessing will ruin your friendship deal is about. The further back one I watched a stream of was just a middle aged woman who doesnt have many friends so she streams whenever shes gaming to an average of 5 viewers, shes open about everything from the fact shes married to the fact that she weighs a bit more than shed like, she also isnt the best speaker often not knowing the english words or mispronouncing them.
