      I’m more semi auto biased ngl, but I can’t help but really admire this S&W Bodyguard. Seen these at my local FFL’s and they go fro like $450 only. Definitely will have to pick one up here soon. Plus that integrated Crimson Trace laser is badass.

    • @ultimatedab743
      @ultimatedab743 Год назад

      @@LilKorea18 they both have their advantages. Semi autos are more comfortable to fire and hold more ammo. The S&W EZ 9 mil or 380 is awesome. Very easy to rack and operate, hand activated safety on the handle.
      Revolvers are more idiot proof though.

    Haters of the slim grip miss the point that it's for better concealment under clothing. I have the S&W 642 (which is a similar gun) with the CT grip and had a love/hate relationship with it; the larger grip was great for shooting at the range, and the laser helped get on target when I wanted to use it, but it was often a bear to carry concealed without it printing to everyone at Home Depot. I put on the smaller grip to help with concealment and lost real estate for my fingers, making shooting less easy. When I stopped carrying it for edc I put the CT grips back on it and it sits in my safe, but I do occasionally carry it in my jacket if it's cold out.
    This S&W Bodyguard can have its grips replaced by a number of aftermarket grips, some of which can better suit some shooters without giving up concealment. Nice review.

      @gls3894 Год назад +2

      Exactly. This pistol is so slim and snag free. I had the Hogue grips on it and after about 9 months removed them and went back original.

    • @Eric_A.
      @Eric_A. Год назад

      I am seriously considering purchasing one of these and think that the factory gray grip seems undersized, but then figured that was better for concealment. I'm sure that a fat Hogue grip will feel better, but if you train with the stock grip, I think you'd do just fine with it.

    S&W specifically advises owners in the Safety & Instruction Manual "NOT" top use ultrasonic cleaners for the S&W BG .38. But, at 2:32 you suggest submersing the gun in an ultrasonic bath. Which is correct and why please? Thank you.

    • @maverickgunworks8777
      @maverickgunworks8777  4 года назад +1

      Thanks for catching that comment, I agree with the manual for this particular product. You should never submerge any firearm, with a laser, into an ultrasonic bath as there will surely be damage to the laser device. Also, with this revolver having anodized/coated aluminum type material for the frame, ultrasonic vibrations could remove the finish. Looks like we should post another video explaining how to best clean firearms made of aluminum. We use the ultrasonic system so often I forgot that the Bodyguard was one of those exceptions.

    1) What is the purpose of having a PULSE feature ?? 2) The Laser Button works like : 1st push = Laser Constant On , 2nd push = Pulse Laser and 3rd push = Off . I do not see this as proper for defensive / protection use , as after the laser is on , it takes Two pushes of button to turn laser off ( too much time to turn off imo ). I would much rather see ; 1st button push = On and 2nd button push = off

      The pulse design does not wear down the laser's 🔋. Also the human eye is drawn to movement. You'll see the red flashing dot fast. I prefer green dot laser aimers. S&W bought Crimson Trace a few years.

    • @MrBunksauce
      @MrBunksauce 3 года назад

      Because accuracy is positively correlated to barrel length, short barrel polymers tend to suffer from similar issues. These types of guns are more meant as back ups to larger side arms and are to be used at extreme close proximity. As in literally pressing the barrel into the target. Once your beyond 10’ a snub nose is essentially useless.
